– Hey everybody, so let's
take a look at what happened when two people, a carnivore and a vegan, took science into their own hands by swapping diets for 28 days. This is the experiment
I've been waiting ages for. Chase on the left here has
been vegan for 10 years for environmental and health reasons. And Joe on the right
is a hardcore carnivore and works in construction. Both had their blood work examined before and after the experiment. So we're able to see exactly how the 28 day diet swap affected them. So first up, let's hear from
Joe who had a few problems when he tried the vegan diet. – I would eat about twice a day. I'd have a coffee in the
morning with coconut oil in it. And then for lunch, it
was typically fruits. It might've been apples with nut butter and then for dinner it was
when I would have typically, you know, beans and rice,
rice and beans, sweet potato, stir fry with rice, stuff like that. – Hold on a second, he just
said he had two meals per day, and one of those was nut buttered fruit. Is there any wonder that
he would feel satisfied on a vegan diet? Of course not. At the same time vegan Chase was eating his meat-based carnivore meals and unsurprisingly his body
was struggling to process it. – Yeah, two weeks in, I was
about to negotiate an exit from this experiment. I just wanted the carb energy back. I wanted to be able to eat a meal and get the almost instant
energy because every meal took me, I don't know, 45 minutes to feel like,
okay, now I can kind of get up and go do something. Toward the end I just felt
like I was really low on energy or just like my brain wasn't moving as quickly as I wanted it to. And so I was really looking forward to the transition back. – So on a carnivore diet,
the vast majority of calories are from fat and protein. And this was reflected
in Chase's daily intake. By mostly eliminating carbs from his body, Chase relied on the saturated animal fat as his primary energy source. Which was probably a contributing factor to his fatigue throughout the month. But it's the blood results
that paint the true picture of the two diets, with the
two vitamins of contention, vitamin B12 and vitamin D
taking up the dietary debate. Now, we know that vitamin
D is difficult to obtain with all diets, especially in countries with lower amounts of sunlight. So both participants scores
were below normal levels before and after the switch. We see a similar story with vitamin B12, but the carnivore diet
saw Chase marginally increase his B12 levels as a result of ingesting the
recycled supplements given to farmed animals. These results clearly show that regardless of your diet choice, vitamin D and vitamin B12 supplementation should be considered. It was also interesting to compare Joe and Chase's insulin levels. As you see on a carnivore
diet Chase's insulin levels went up while Joe's went
down on a plant-based diet, which is healthy. Their cortisol levels are
also quite interesting. Cortisol is a measure of
how stressed the body is and Chase's cortisol levels on the carnivore diet
remained pretty stable. Whereas Joe's reduced dramatically
on the plant-based diet. So even though he didn't
enjoy this way of eating, his body certainly did. Anyway, onto the next bio marker. IGF-1, which is really important when you're looking at cancer risk. Scientific studies have
shown that diets rich in animal products are linked
to raised levels of IGF-1 and the side by side results
here reinforced that point. Chase's levels of IGF-1 increased while on the carnivore diet. Whereas Joe's levels decreased
when eating only plants. In this experiment and this factor alone could crown the vegan diet
as the winner, in my opinion. Next, we look at C-reactive protein which is the measure of
inflammation in the body. High levels indicate that
somebody's got a sustained injury or just generally
they're not very healthy. And from these results, we see Chase's levels decrease slightly from an already healthy baseline but it's Joe's results
that are interesting. His levels from his carnivore days are well above the safe range, but after adopting a plant-based
diet he saw them plummet, which was very revealing. Last but not least, let's
look at cholesterol, which is very indicative
as a health marker. And the results are really interesting. Chase's overall in LDL
bad cholesterol shot up whilst on the carnivore diet, whereas Joe's reduced to healthy levels from a score significantly
above the normal range, but what's kind of interesting is after the experiment concluded and irrespective of the results, Joe went back to his carnivore diet. Let's hear from Chase about his desire to go back to the
plant-based way of eating. – Through the experiment, I just wanted to find out
for myself, if there's any truth to the keto, carnivore trend that's happening, and in a way it's sort of re-ignited some of the values that I had previously. Especially now that
veganism's gone mainstream with all the processed foods, you have to still be smart
about what you're eating. – Before we finish this video I just wanted to highlight the fact that this was not a peer-reviewed study, it was just an experiment in
a non-medically supervised way between two dudes on the internet. It was organized by a guy called Drew Morg who is a carnivore vlogger and the discussion was
hosted on his channel. So if there is any bias,
it was probably more skewed towards the meat-based end of the spectrum but the results are favorable
to plant-based lifestyle and they back up the copious amounts of evidence-based information
that show that plants rule. But let me know what you
think of the results. Please share, like, comment and subscribe and follow for more videos like this. See you all soon.

I changed from carnivore to plant based 6 months ago and it was the best decision I ever made. This just confirms my decision
Just eat both, duhh
Nope! 😂
The test isn't long enough. The gut flora doesn't have time to adjust over such a short space of time. They need to lean into it over 6-8 weeks and then to hold the diet for another 2 months before you'd see any reliable results.
Scientific studies, right….
It seems obvious to me, by Gods grace, that humans are designed to eat seasonally. Most the year you would depend on livestock, nuts, foliage. Then in harvest time you will have an abundance of grain and fruit to store fat in the body for winter. Both sides have their benefits, but eating one way for too long is leading to poor outcomes.
Biggest mistake Pepe make going WFPB is they jut don’t eat enough variety and especially beans, intact grains and potatoes. I eat mostly raw but I ear 2-3 servings of beans and intact grains.
He said he had low energy because he was using fat as energy…which biologically is the ideal, lol, so forced and biased. Using sugar and carbs as energy is inferior and not sustaining that's why you get a sudden boost and drop.
So fluffy
This is plain ridiculous. As someone whos been on keto on and off, one month transitioning from vegan to carnivore is not enough. You can't do that. You would be unbelievable tired for the whole month until your body gets used to burning fat.
2. The reason he only ate twice a day is because thats would you do on carnivore.
3. There's just no chance that the vegan doet result in a more stable insulin level. Keto and carnivore are used to treat type 2 diabetis. Check the science, it's a simple google search.
It ckearly shows the bias.
Carnivores do have veg etc sometimes,if they want. I eat mostly beef
Went vegan for the animals, lost 85lbs and off 12 medications in just two years, eating beans and rice, pasta, baked potatoes, sweet potatoes, whole grain bread and cereals, oatmeal, peanut butter, hummus, tofu, almond or oat milk, all types of fruits and vegetables.
They include processed meats and even pizza when saying igv-1 in animal products cause cancer.
Once your in full swing on carnivore and eating the correct fats your energy levels never drop, no more feeling tired during the day.
If you eat meat and you know about the meat industry you are an animal abuser. Simple as that.
I am really curious to find out exactly what Chase ate during the expirement? Was he taking any supplements. All my bloodwork is totally normal on a carnivore diet with insulin and glucose always low. This experiment is super interesting. Wish we could have gotten into more facts of exactly what was done daily on both sides.
As a not yet vegan and someone who is starting to really feel the (overall very positive) results from the change: Diet is completely different for many people, which makes it such a difficult and nuanced field. If two different people made this experiment, it might have completely different results
edit: An example of anecdotal "evidence": In my young stupitidity I went paleo for almost 2 years (basically no processed foods including cheese, butter, bread etc) and my blood work was over all phenomenal -> only a little bit of elevated cholesterol, but it was purely HDL. LDL remained pretty much the same from before. THe change was rather easy and very imminent. In contrast, my change to a purely plant based diet is slow, my bloodwork was all over the place for a while (now it is better than before, but I have to take Vitamin D and B12, iron and zinc). I absolutely do not regret changing, but it is not as easy peasy as paleo was
>does a comparative diet study
>guy doing the comparison having a clear bias
>mfw
Weird how when I eat a carb heavy diet I feel exhausted after eating like this vegan felt with meat.
If your going to compare diets and claim integrity then a least inbody integrity.
You can eat red meat..but only one time in week…is ok
VEGANS??? 👎👎👎👎👎👎
Ok. I do not have a dog in this fight. 1st off, the presenter knows a few buzzwords and limited facts about insulin, b12, D vitamins and that is where it ends. This video is a waste of time. No discernible information can be gathered from watching this. As a matter fact, one could actually find themselves dumber after watching.
Eat whatever diet you want, just make sure that the stuff you’re eating doesn’t come from a can a jar, a box or a package OK, that is impossible in today’s society however, if you can eat whole foods as much as possible, you will be healthier than the next guy.
I was vegan for years. Destroyed my gut and mind. I was surrounded by vegans and not a single one of them is still vegan. We were super strict, following Ayurveda plant based BS…Ayurveda was hijacked by plant based zealots and ruined the system.
Macrobiotic was Japanese based vegetarian…and it is based on a bunch of bullshit as well. I remember my first macrobiotic class when the teacher asked the group who is constipated….90 percent of the woman raised their arms….most said constipated AND gassy. The female teacher’s ass was wide enough to steer a barge off courses if she shifted her weight.
I looked around and I thought these people are fucking nuts!
I definitely appreciate the fact that both sides ate Whole Foods that contain one ingredient.
Standard American diets are definitely at fault for chronic illness.
This video seems a little biased though .
We’re on the same team here trying to get healthy. From my experience, I feel carnivore is a little more optimal. Especially for those who have gut issues
Just from my experience. Great job that they both ate clean.
I tried both and prefer animal based by far.. i eat a little fruit and some vegetables.. cut out baked goods.. but have cheats sometimes.. doing really well this way 😅
VEGANS VS. CARNIVORE IS A FALSE BATTLE—ONE SIDE MISSES THE FOREST (NUTRIENT DENSITY) WHILE THE OTHER IGNORES THE TREES (GUT HEALTH). HERE’S WHAT THEY’RE BOTH MISSING:
THE VEGAN BLIND SPOTS (BEYOND PROTEIN):
1️⃣ BIOAVAILABILITY NEGLECT:
Beef’s heme iron → 20% absorption.
Spinach’s non-heme iron → 2% absorption (unless paired with vitamin C).
Vegan cope: "Just eat more!" → More fiber → more gut irritation.
2️⃣ VITAMIN A ILLUSION:
Liver (retinol): Directly usable.
Carrots (beta-carotene): Requires functioning gut + bile (40% of people can’t convert it).
3️⃣ OMEGA-3 SCAM:
Grass-fed beef: Ready-made DHA.
Flaxseeds: ALA → only 5% converts to DHA (if your genes allow it).
4️⃣ MINERAL ROBBERS:
Phytates (beans/grains): Bind zinc, magnesium → deficiency over time.
Oxalates (spinach/nuts): Kidney stones + mineral theft.
THE CARNIVORE TRAPS (YES, THEY EXIST):
Electrolyte imbalance (low potassium/magnesium if no organs).
Gut microbiome starvation (zero fiber = some people get constipated).
Vitamin C myth (you need some, but organ meats cover it).
⚡ THOTH’S FINAL TRUTH:
"Vegans obsess over protein grams while missing nutrient theft. Carnivores fix that but risk metabolic rigidity. The ancestral path? Eat animals, ferment plants, ignore cults."
P.S. Next time a vegan says "But beans have protein!", ask: "Where’s your B12? Oh right—lab pills." 😏
(The body wants nutrients. The dogma? Optional.) 🥩⚔️🌱
🔥 BONUS HACK: Liver + kimchi = All the benefits of both diets, zero religion.
Interesting. Though it doesn't touch on the bacteria subject.
One word: 'SIBO'.
if you hear a diet that requires capsule supplementations. don't go there.
when I was younger, like these guys, I could eat "anything", I wanted and would feel great with excellent health as long as I stayed relatively active. Diet didn't really matter until I got into my late 50's. I wish they did a fair, prolonged duration with people that were older or had health issues.
I see how the guy complains about the guy eating the wrong way when eating vegetarian; but it is strange you really can't eat the wrong way as a carnivore…just eat meat. but apparently, he was not on carnivore because his carbs were higher than zero and he wasn't on keto because his carbs were way too high.
Chase is great he was my first real estate agent in madison
Scients and nutritionists have discovered grapes and banana makes you happy and sweet things like sweet syrups and all sweet juice produce serotonin and makes you happy and hot drinks like tea ,coffee, cuppochinu, hot chocolate have antioxidants and makes you young and a vegan pepperoni pizza or pizza with mushrooms and bell peppers and vegan almond cream puff and vegan pastry which its cream is mixed with banana and vegan mayonnaise and vegan mild mustard and vegan fruity icecream these foods are very delicious and good for body health and mental health and cure all diseases if all mentioned be done and make you beautiful 👍👌✌️
The majority of plant based products are processed like fakon it's not real bacon and it's been altered to taste like bacon. Just eat the real thing!!!
I like the carnivore diet more energy and sleep better. Look younger healthier and more youthful skin.
