Raise your hands if you've heard of PMDD before.
I hate being a woman sometimes
My wife was diagnosed a few years ago but neither of us really understood how much it was affecting everything. It wasn’t until she had our 2nd child that it seemed to reveal its self. I was pretty clueless about it until an episode of her hormonal rage sent me into a stress induced anxiety attack after she told me she wanted me to move out. I started doing research on it and I discovered that out of the 11 possible symptoms, she had displayed all of them at some point in our marriage. Docs will give a PMDD diagnosis if only 5 of them are present. What makes it harder, is her symptoms are randomized, so she doesn’t always have the same ones monthly. I don’t walk on egg shells, I live on them 2-3 weeks every month. She can turn from the sweet, loving, and kind woman I married in to a mean, manipulative, and emotionally abusive b*tch in a second. Luckily the majority of the time she just gets depressed, sad, and overly sensitive. However, the over sensitivity can lead to the angry monster quickly if I’m not quick to apologize for whatever I did/said, or didn’t say/do that triggered her. I feel hopeless most of the time because she doesn’t stick to anything that would help her condition, and she often acts like it’s a non-issue while I’m running myself ragged trying to appease her ever changing mood. What makes me sad is I see how it affects our kids. Women, if you have this, don’t downplay its effects on your spouse or kids. Do everything in your power to get treatment. God bless and heal you.
I had same experiences for sadness
Most of the time I experience the sadness, hopelessness, etc after my period. I wonder if that means that I don't have PMDD but idk.
my pmdd is so bad that I have been feeling genuinely hopeless. is there anything I can do. I am already an athlete and I sleep perfectly fine, but I need something that works.
i’m starting to think i have this. my pms symptoms have varied over the years but i very commonly get suicidal for a few days before my period and think very deeply about all the misfortunes of my life. sometimes i’m so depressed i can barely walk and i’m so zapped of energy. the cravings can drive me insane and then there’s the irritability. i thought it was all just normal PMS but i guess not
This is a great short video to show others that dont understand.
Why am I just hearing of this??? I always say that I feel like I’m losing my mind right before my period but on my period I’m completely fine… wow well now I know
there's actually a correlation between adhd and omdd. As a woman who has both, it makes infinite sense. Already less dopamine and then hormonal changes…
I got Very dsyphoric before my period from age 27-42. I was admitted to the psych ward multiple times and often it was 3 days before my period. As soon as my period began? I was stable.
The crying was akin to wailing while grieving.
i’m not even sure how to get a diagnosis on this but i’m pretty positive i suffer from PMDD. my mood swings are actually horrible and the worst symptom I experience, because it happens ~2 weeks before i even get my period and lasts until after im done. the thoughts i have in my head are just unbearable sometimes. not to mention i have horrible acne and cramps while on my period as well. i wish i could take my uterus out or something
😭😭so irritated at the moment… I am a person with personality that I don't cry, but at this moment my tears can't stop…
I was suffering from pmdd since 3 years. It was horrible 15 days before period were traumatizing. I was always anxious, agitated, irritable and fatigued i used to have suicidal thoughts. Once I used to get my periods everything would vanish I was a different personality altogether
I am grateful that i healed it around 70 percent now
Regular exercise nutrition sleep didn't help me much tbh
My vitamin d levels were low
I started vitamin d supplements 60k iu every week for 12 weeks
I also took magnesium supplements
All these combined with high protein diet and regular strength training reduced my pmdd symptoms to almost 70 percent
Please get your vitamins checked girls hope it helps❤
This is the hardest relationship I've ever been in
Serotonin is a neurotransmitter, not a hormone
Can someone please tell me how to treat this medication, please , I'm suffering a lot
as an autistic with pmdd, its not just the standard "moodiness" that seems so simple to describe. You full on lose yourself, your entire identity. You lose the ability to even think and its like the world is caving in on you. The same sentences swarm my brain and its almost like pyschosis. I get extremely paranoid which causes me to sleep during the day but unable to at night. I dont know why but the HARDEST thing for me to do when I'm about to start my monthly is make a sandwich. Yup, make a sandwich. Getting everything out, making sure i do everything the way I like it. As an autistic, processing is already hard but with pmdd its about impossible. You stop caring about the loved ones you did before. You ponder the existence and time of everything. You want to do everything and nothing all at the same time. My pmdd was unfortunately passed down from my mom and from her mom so you can guess how our family dynamic is going. (in the garbage) It's funny to me when women fear the day their period comes when that's literally the only time I have peace.
I think I have this, but only the last few years. 36 now, just hearing about this. Within 10 days before and the first 2 days of my period, I’m just a mess of moods and it’s not good. 😢
I just found out today that i have pmdd,
Yep. Every single symptom you list. It's insanity. It's absolute, crushing, MIND-MORPHING insanity.
Women or people 😂
