it’s been a year since I made my video comparing kick to Twitch and one of my most frequently asked questions I got on that video was what about streaming on YouTube the biggest problem with both twitch andt kick is the fact that neither of them have an algorithm so theoretically YouTube should be the perfect answer right in this video I’m going to be going over the full comparison of twitch versus YouTube live and by the end of this video you will be able to answer the question should you stream on YouTube I’ve done marketing for a living for over 10 years now and I work with over a 100 streamers directly I have multiple other videos here on my channel related to growing on Twitch kick and other streaming related videos if you are interested in that type of cont hitting subscribe will help me out a lot as well as if you learn anything hitting the like button helps my algorithm more than you realize so I appreciate it greatly let’s start by going over the pros of streaming on YouTube Compared to Twitch the biggest complaint that I see about twitch is the revenue split on Twitch you only get to keep 50% of your Revenue that you get from subscribers and bits let’s say you earn 100 subscribers a month on Twitch that’s a total of $500 a month but after twitch takes their 50% you are left with $250 YouTube on the other hand gives streamers 70% of the revenue that they earn from Super Chat donations as well as super stickers YouTube does have a paid subscriber option but even for popular live streamers this is very uncommon most of the revenue made on YouTube live will come from Super Chat another Proto streaming on YouTube is the fact that there are less streamers on the platform no matter what game you are streaming there will be far less competition than on Twitch or even on Kick this isn’t all positive though and I’ll explain more when discussing the cons of YouTube the last Pro about streaming on YouTube is not the algorithm like you would expect that’s actually a con and I’m going to be explaining more in a second however the last Pro is having an easier time getting people on the platform to watch you everyone has YouTube and in the early stage of streaming you need as many people as possible helping you out by showing up to your streams YouTube is the most common streaming app on your phone and you’ll have way more friends SL family members able and willing to come and support you during your stream now let’s talk about the cons and I’m going to start with the algorithm because there’s a common misconception that the YouTube algorithm is the reason it’s better to stream on the platform the YouTube algorithm Works based on user preferences and very few YouTubers watch streamers especially streamers with low viewers that means even if you try to take advantage of the SEO via tags and titles it’s rare that you will ever come up on someone’s YouTube even with people searching because live streams do not have the same search value as full videos or even shorts the other argument that I hear for YouTube is I could just upload shorts or other high search value content on my channel to reach new people for my streams if you are using your channel to live stream you’ll notice that your views are much lower than they should be if you have a separate channel for shorts they will perform much much better and you could still funnel this traffic to your channel that you host your live streams on the YouTube algorithm can be very rewarding in terms of views and exposure however if you try to stream from a success Channel it’ll kill the Channel’s reach instead use the YouTube algorithm to reach people and then funnel them into your streams on a separate live streaming Channel on YouTube or even your streams on another platform such as twitch or kick another con with YouTube is the fact that on average you will receive much less support financially even major streamers will see far less donations with YouTube and that’s mainly because the twitch Community is very supportive in terms of subscribing and donating for my expertise and what I’ve seen from all of my clients of all sizes streamers on average will receive much more donations and paid subscribers on Twitch versus YouTube one being reason because of people hate ads on Twitch and people will subscribe and gift subscribers to help people not have to deal with ads another big reason is because gifting subscribers on Twitch is such a common practice and a way of giving support to streamers by giving back to the community from my investigation and studying what YouTube streamers make on average a YouTube streamer will have to average over 200 viewers to make anything close what a twitch streamer will make if they average only 50 viewers and that’s even after twitch takes their 50% now this Con can easily be combed by offering more incentives for people to use super chat since YouTube lets you keep 70% of the revenue from Super Chat you need to think of creative ways to incentivize people to use super chat and support you if you create a good enough reason for people to want to support you they will do so no matter what platform you are on if you are strictly looking for the highest percentage kick offers streamers 95% of the revenue you will earn however it has its downsides and I just uploaded the updated video on comparing kick to Twitch for 2024 in conclusion I do not think that you should stream on YouTube because of the strong community that twitch has around live streaming and supporting them financially I understand more than anyone that twitch has a lot of flaws and and they stand for a lot of the wrong stuff but as a businessman making a video suggesting the best place for you to host your streams I would say that twitch is still the best place for you at this time this is only really for those that don’t have an audience already if you already have an audience that you could take to any platform I’d say streaming on Kick is the best just because of the high Revenue split in my opinion YouTube is the best platform when it comes to hosting videos and getting exposure on video projects I’m excited to execute multiple Channel ideas that I have and really take over the space in YouTube in the future this channel is the first of many and I want the goal of this channel to be furthering the knowledge of those who are watching eventually I will launch my entertainment Channel but subscribe for the journey and if you looking to grow on Twitch or really any platform in under 5 minutes watch this video here

I would add that there are certain interactive things you can use with twitch that are not available on any other platform just yet as well. Other platforms are starting to add some but twitch definitely has the lions share for now.
I hear you BUT even after this video I think you should stream on YouTube AT THE BEGINNING of your Livestream journey and then after you should switch to Twitch or some other plaftorm.
Thank you sm for helping me start multiple channels like this to direct attention to my streams!!I've gotten over 3,000 paid subs on twitch and have been steadily growing my wonderful community! You da 🐐 Twatter 😭❤
YouTube live doesn’t feel right

i have earn nothing on youtube
Good advice. I mainly use You Tube to post shorts and direct them to my Twitch Channel.
Yt short lives got me all my subs
This was very informative, thank you. A little too fast for me to actually retain the information lol but very well executed overall.
Whats your thoughts on multi stream, why not stream all platforms all at the same time?
So, Twitch is the best platform for beginners who don't have much reach, right? And creating a separate channel on YouTube just for shorts to gain more reach and bring those viewers to my Twitch stream is a good idea, right? For video projects (e.g., recordings from my Twitch livestream), should I also create a separate YouTube channel?
Awesome info
Pls shout my twitch channel out it is gamerelite_twitch
You make a lot of sense🔥🔥🔥
I have a question, I was thinking about buying patreon but Im not english content creator is that a problem?
Your videos are mid, and uhhh so is your advice. No one needs you, you need clickbait and better seo. These thumbnails look like you made them in MSpaint. Your video edit looks like someone used windows movie maker with default effects and you've been doing this for years but don't have but 5k subs? Move on trash compactor.
Did u see mr money took your vid almost word for wording was the vid were u could get paid 16 every hour
Youtube Streaming may gain you lots of views and subs in Shorts Youtube Streaming…. But the revenue shorts live is very small, Like $1 per 100k views.
Hey
What’s your thoughts on a YouTuber with 100k subs streaming. Should he do it on YouTube because of his viewership ? Or move the traction to Twitch
For me, I avg around 100 viewers on a yt stream. And less than 10 on twitch. Should I grind out twitch? And will they pay me more via ads
I dropped twitch in the beggining of this year. Only youtube I like qulity of content and video much more than on twitch in offline and online mode. I think twitch has no bright future even in gaming streaming. Garbage bin for biowaste.
i been coming back too streaming in twitch and youtube i been multi streaming but it sucks now i get 1 view ever since i take my break off twitch too grow my youtube channel no on on my youtube will join twitch because they hate it i only get 1 viewer could be bot admin watching me because i am temping too quit streaming on youtube only but i been multi stream on youtube and twitch since 2017 i never stop that
Captions were distracting sometimes, but the video was amazing overall, nice
Is it possible to stream on multiple platforms at the same time?
I like the editing of the thumbnail in the background. So cool. You’re so smart
I have around 2k on Tiktok and I did a poll about where I should go live and 90% of them said Youtube… do you still think that Twitch would be a more suitable option ?
You forgot the largest issue with Twitch, the SUPER low upload bandwidth cap it's barely good enough for 720p60 and horrible for 1080 or higher unless you like blocky streams
1. Saying those others don't have an algorithm isn't really accurate. Their algorithms are just much more primitive than YouTube's.
2. The streamer gets all the revenue from Bits used on their channel. It's just that the upfront cost to buy the bundle of Bits has an upcharge for the buyer. How much that is depends on how large the bundle is, but it's not even close to double which seems to be what is implied when referring to the 50% cut.
3. The cut from Twitch subs depends on whether you're in their Plus program. The example of having 100 subs means the 60/40 split might be doable depending on how many of those are gifted and how many viewers are willing to sub at a higher tier (temporarily).
personally i stream on YouTube, but take clips from live streams and post them as videos
Great info. But dude, you talk too fast. Hard to follow.
I stream on YT because I barely have time to edit vids from Twitch to YT.
Appreciate you. Keep working!
I've actually learned over time that streaming on Twitch does have a good amount of fun and moments. But even so I would strongly suggest sticking to making YouTube videos until your big enough to start streaming. Had to learn that the hard way.
what about as a casual couple hours every few days
what the fuck is that subtitle in the fucking middle is this fucking tiktok?
If your partner on Twitch don't you get 70%/30% cut?
The hardest thing I find about having any channel be it on YouTube, Kick, Twitch or whatever is AUDIENCE ENGAGEMENT. I keep on asking questions but nobody is answering. It feels like screaming into a void sometimes, honestly. My funds are limited so I can't pay for support at the moment and I make do with what I have. I create my own thumbnails, I experiment with AI art to make better thumbnails and photoshop for the titles. I have a lot to learn I know this but the process is so slow sometimes. It grows so slowly that's for sure. Happy to accept any tips or advice. – A
Good info, but far too rapidly presented. Hard to keep up.
thanks for the advice. I really appreciate how clearly and concisely you laid out the pros and cons.
Not to mention Twitch actually has a stream manager. The one on YouTube is basically unusable
There is one thing you did not talk about that is a big plus for youtube, the vods . When a stream is down on twitch its more or less dead content , but a youtube vod will live as long as there is a platform.
But I guess this depends alot of what kind of games you play.
Why not both. VODs on YT make astronomically more revenue than anything twitch offers
Its crazy twitch takes 50% considering there is no algorithm
I dual stream to both
