Read none of this true and I've never had such a love hate relationship with a book.
VAGUE SPOILER:
I hated the ending for the effect it had in retrospect but also loved the vagueness. I think it takes away from the morbidity of the story and Lisa Jewel could've sold the nuance of Josie's mind to us and kept it mostly the same but left all the vouching the kids did for their dad out. Cheapened it for me.
