do you ever find yourself having no time would you like to have a day that lasts more than 24 hours my name is Mirko I was one of the trainers at training course the well-being of Youth workers that took place in Germany December 2022. in this video I want to give you five tips that will improve your time management the first thing is to become more aware of your time there is an exercise you can do take a piece of paper and write what you do during the day take an average day in your week that reflects the most activities you do write your activities in 30 to 60 Minute patterns and this way you will have an overview of everything you do during the day what can you do with this overview let's move on to the second tip now we have the activities create a schedule organize your day this will be individually maybe your activities during the week will differ from activities during the weekend but the point is to organize your activities in a schedule maybe some activities you like doing more in the morning some in the afternoon some in the evening organize them because this is why you will have the overview what you do during the day and it'll be much easier to execute your activities when you have your activities that brings me to tip number three prioritize just put a letter H high priority M medium priority or L low priority next to an activity when you know your high priority activities these are the most important tasks for you when I say most important I think about most important tasks that align with your goals not all the goals are same for everyone so maybe for some of you a goal will be to rest more so your high priority activity will be to rest for some other people will be to work a bit more on some specific tasks so this will be your high priority when you know the priority of your activities it will be much easier to focus on high priority than medium and then low so you know your activities you organize a schedule you prioritized now you start to do these activities the mistake we do is that often we just do an activity for two or three hours take breaks there is a great technique called Pomodoro Technique where you do a specific task for 25 minutes and you rest for five minutes it can help you to get a bit more away from the work just for five minutes nothing much and then you go back to your task and do it for another 25 minutes and do this in circle why because if you do a task for three or four hours maybe you get mentally drained and exhausted and it will be much harder for you to continue the task and you will go to your smartphone tip number five remove the distractions I mentioned smartphone because most of the times when we do some tasks we have we have a smartphone next to our computer or whatever we do and then we get a message or notification we immediately check it out and we start doing the task and we're losing time on this nothing will happen if you check the message later so remove distractions is my final tip for your time management when doing the task you're doing the task you're not doing anything else this can refer to anything eating writing typing an email you're doing this specific thing because we live in a distraction world we are full of smartphones information we don't know everything right on time now at this moment just try to remove the distractions I don't know put your smartphone under your pillow this can be a nice tip while working something I hope these tips help you even if you apply only one tip from now after you finish watching this video it will help you to improve your time management and over time you will have more time [Music]
