hi i'm dr david burr with the float zone chronic pain is more than a symptom but a disease and a major cause of disability millions of people are in chronic pain which also unavoidably involves an emotional component here at the float zone we've done numerous clinical case studies on the effects of regular floating upon chronic pain one interesting finding is that those with higher baseline pain averages consistently made more significant progress over time our studies have also shown that when physical pain improves there's a collateral improvement in one's emotional state our brain is wired for pain and fear chronic pain keeps us in a chronic fight or flight state whereas relaxing the nervous system through floating helps to rewire the perception of pain to the brain we follow our study participants 30 days after the conclusion of a study and most of the gains made during the study still remain floating really helps to relax the nervous system and is great for pain management
