I Tried RED LIGHT THERAPY To See if It ACTUALLY Works | Doctor ER. Doctor Wagner explains red light therapy uses, benefits, and risks aka low-level laser therapy (LLLT), low-power laser therapy (LPLT), and photobiomodulation (PBM). A real doctor explains and reviews red light therapy benefits, infrared sauna, what is red light therapy, red light therapy hair growth, red light therapy for skin, benefits of red light therapy, red light therapy lamp, LED red light therapy, infrared light therapy, and more. What does red light therapy do? Does red light therapy really work? How long should I do red light therapy? What are the side effects of red light therapy? Red light therapy (RLT) is a treatment that may help skin, muscle tissue, and other parts of your body heal. Red light is similar to infrared, but you can see it. Infrared therapy is a method that uses light to treat acute or chronic pain. Red light therapy limits the inflammatory response and reduces oxidative damage by reducing inflammatory cytokines (TNF-a, IL-1A, and IL-6). This spurs healing in skin and muscle tissue. Red light therapy may help with muscle recovery, weight loss, dementia, dental pain, osteoarthritis, tendinitis, wrinkles, and other signs of skin aging and skin damage, acne scars, burns, dark spots, and signs of UV sun damage. Have you ever tested or tried a red light panel? What was the best home red light therapy you found? What has your red light therapy experience been like? Leave your red light therapy reviews and red light therapy before and after experiences in the comments.

– Infrared and red light therapies. Is this the next great
achievement in medicine or is an overprice health scam that you should be warned about? We'll discuss it. – Plus, what medical
ailments does it work for? Does it treat muscle atrophy? Will it help combat your sleep issues? How about acne scarring
or pain and inflammation? And what's the big difference between red light and infrared therapies. Today, we're breaking
down all the crucial facts you definitely need to know about infrared and red light therapy plus I'll let you in on a red light secret you're definitely going
to wanna know about. Hey everyone, I'm Dr. Jordan Wagner. I'm an emergency room
doctor who treats everything from COVID to gunshot
wounds, burns you name it. I've created this video series to help answer some of
your medical questions and the questions that I get from patients each and every day. Infrared light and red light therapy. It sounds a little
space-agey and intimidating. I get it, what the heck is it? Can these latest light therapies actually help you treat
various medical conditions? Today we're discussing
10 different conditions that it could be used to treat and whether or not there
are any warning signs that you should be looking out for when it comes to this new technology. Plus, we'll go over all the crucial facts you definitely need to know about. But first things first,
what's cool about red light is researchers first
discovered in the 1990s that scientists could
use red light therapy to help grow plants in space. And through this research, they found that intense light from red emitting diodes aka LEDs helped promote growth and photosynthesis of plant cells as well. But what does all that space plant talk have to do with me? Well my friend, it has
everything to do with you. You see plants were just the beginning. Red light was then studied for its potential application in medicine. More specifically if
using red light therapy would work in humans. What they found is that red light therapy could increase energy inside human cells. With more energy cells can
function more efficiently rejuvenating themselves
and repairing damage. So the researchers and
scientists were able to test and see if these red light therapies could then be used to
improve wound healing, bone density issues and muscle atrophy that was caused by weightlessness during space travel for astronauts. Pretty darn cool. So which light therapy should you use and how does it work exactly? There are two main light therapies, red light and infrared light therapy. At a cellular level, red light helps promote blood circulation and brings more oxygen and
nutrients to your skin surface. This can help with collagen,
minimizing the signs of aging and overall increase the blood flow. Light in the infrared range of spectrum also called near infrared light has a longer wavelength
than just red light and can penetrate deeper to
reach muscle tissues, nerves, and the body's muscles. This can help reduce inflammation, support cellular regeneration, lessen wound or injury healing time and help with achy bones. You see red light therapy
and infrared light therapy each offer their own
powerful treatment solutions for skincare and pain relief. It's important to understand the benefits of each type of light before going and choosing
a device or therapy that is better suited for you. And you can also use red light therapy and infrared light therapies together depending on your desired outcome. Speaking of, curious
as to which conditions it can be used for? Great, these are your top 10
list of medical conditions that has some evidence to suggest that red light
therapy and infrared technology may have benefits for. Number one improves wound
healing and tissue repair need I say more? Number two, helps and can be used as short-term treatment
for carpal tunnel syndrome. Number three, it can
potentially improve hair growth in people with androgenic alopecia. Number four, it can reduce
psoriasis lesions potentially. Number five, stimulates healing
of slower healing wounds for instance, in diabetic foot ulcers. Number six, it improve some
skin or complexion issues such as acne scarring or other scars and promotes collagen, elasticity and other skin improvements. Number seven, short-term pain relief with rheumatoid arthritis. Number eight improves health of joints and degenerative osteoarthritis. Number nine, it diminishes wrinkles and helps with sun damage. And number 10, there are even studies going on for the treatment of some side
effects of cancer treatments such as oral lesions. A few insurance companies even cover the use of red light therapy to prevent these oral lesions
during cancer treatment. All in all, there's a whole array of
supposed health benefits from using both red light therapy and deeper penetrating
infrared technologies. It's important to talk
to your doctor about your own medical conditions
and whether or not these may be beneficial therapies for you. Now time to let you in on a little secret, I actually use red light therapy and near infrared in my own home. In fact, I even converted a
spare bedroom storage closet into my own therapy center. How I do it is I use a system from Joovv and no they're not paying
me at all for this. I did my own research and I found what I thought was the best near infrared light therapy
with red light therapy. What you do is stand
in your birthday suit, wearing eye protection and stand there for five to 10 minutes on the front side facing the lights and then five to 10 minutes
facing away from the lights to get your backside. It helps me with inflammation, my joints and even helps me sleep better. I chose this system as opposed
to far infrared systems such as infrared saunas because those type of systems
need a heat activating object such as charcoal or like carbon fiber or whatever other emitting
surface or mechanism to deliver the infrared heat. Basically they work by heating
up the objects in the room as opposed to a system like this that isolates the wavelengths
or red and near infrared and deliver them directly into your body. I can do this treatment from
the comfort of my own home. I'll be honest, these red light and infrared
systems are not cheap. You can buy sessions at
different doctor's offices but sometimes insurance companies will cover the cost of such treatments. An at-home version can
set you back hundreds or even thousands of dollars. I'll try to link to different options at different price ranges for
you in the description below. All right, is it dangerous? And are there side effects that
you should be warned about? Red light therapy is
considered safe and painless however, there have been
reports of cases of burns and blistering from different various red light therapy treatments. There's also a potential
risk of damage to the eyes from near infrared. Proper eyewear and protection should be more in while
undergoing these therapies. All right, that's been a quick infrared and red light therapy
breakdown with me. Dr. Wagner. Have you ever got to use these types of red light therapy treatments? Did they work for you? Let me know in the comments and let me also know if you
have any other medical questions that you'd like me to answer.

Love your dancing eyebrows, Doc! I’ve just ordered a red light belt from Amazon – having TKR in 6 weeks and excited about the belt helping with recovery. Meanwhile, I’l also try it out pre-surgery for the knee pain I have. And wrinkles. And hair loss. And belly fat, lol. I’m encouraged by others’ success and will be happy if it helps with healing after knee replacement.
