let's talk about which intermittent fasting plan is best for weight loss if you're new to intermittent fasting you may be overwhelmed at how many different ways there are to practice this way of eating I lost 80 pounds with intermittent fasting and I've interviewed many success stories on this channel and I am thoroughly convinced that the best intermittent fasting plan is the one that you can stick with the first thing is which window you're going to pick so maybe you've heard a lot about a 16-8 or maybe you've heard other people say a 1410 is better or maybe some people are talking about alternate day fasting or omad and you might be wondering well which one is going to make me lose weight the fastest I personally thought when I started intermittent fasting well it's obviously going to be better the further and further I push out the fasting window the longer the fasting window the faster the weight loss but I was wrong what I found was whether I was doing a 14 10 or 16 8 or whether I was just doing omad one meal a day which is a 24 hour fast I still lost about a pound a week on average and in fact a longer fasting window can have some distinct disadvantages it may not fit very well in your day-to-day life another thing some people find with a longer fasting window is that when they finally do sit down to their meal they're feeling so hungry that they eat too fast and they eat too much and and they end up even gaining weight which is of course not a good thing what those people find is that when they go back to a longer eating window then they can eat the right amount and still lose weight another thing is that some people don't do well with big meals and if you have a really short eating window your meals are going to be bigger so if you're the type of person who likes to eat small meals then you may be better off with a longer eating window now if you're an emotional eater or you tend to eat out of boredom then you may find like I did that a longer fasting window works better just because it eliminates a lot of the opportunities that you would otherwise have to emotionally eat so there are advantages to either way of doing this the main thing is for you to think about what works best for you what works best with your personality the second thing you need to decide is are you going to do clean fasting or dirty fasting now I am a dirty faster I personally have always allowed myself to have coffee with half and half in it whenever I want it during the fasting window the reason I did this is because then fasting felt really easy to me and I was looking to do intermittent fasting solely for weight loss in other words as long as the scale is doing what I want it to then I feel like my intermittent fasting plan is a success on the other hand you may decide that clean fasting is something you want to try and there are plenty of people out there who do that and have great success with it now the rules kind of vary depending on who you talk to some people say black coffee is okay other people say water only in the end you decide what the rules are for you the last part of this is to figure out what your eating plan is during the eating window now I personally allow myself to eat all the food during the eating window in other words I don't have any kind of rules about you know low carb or you know only eating certain types of foods or only eating a certain kind of portion size I just go based on my own hunger levels and I eat whatever I'm in the mood for which includes things like pasta and dessert and wine and chocolate what I found was this also helped me to be consistent with my fasting window because I knew as soon as my eating window opened up I could eat whatever I wanted and consistent action over time is what will get you to your weight loss goals I've been practicing intermittent fasting for about eight years now and I have found that it is a sustainable way to both lose the weight and keep it off so when you're figuring out which plan is going to work best for you I would encourage you to take a look at what your life looks like right now and figure out how intermittent fasting can fit into it rather than thinking about you know how can I fit my life into this intermittent fasting plan and once you find what works for you then just ignore what everybody else is doing because you're the one that has to implement this plan and work it every single day when it's all said and done this is not just about getting down to your goal weight it's also about what can you continue to do to keep that weight off for the rest of your life so figure out the thing that's going to be sustainable for you so remember the best intermittent fasting plan for weight loss is the one that you can stick with for the Long Haul thank you for watching this video I hope you found it helpful and I'll see you in the next one

  1. Been fasting for 3 months, trying to eat healthy but not always, not dieting. Started 16/8 went to 18/6 and ended up at 17/7. Have lost 8 lbs so far which is fine, I only needed to lose 20 lbs total. I started fasting for health reasons, so I mostly clean fast although this last week added in my organic ginger tea plain. I only have that in the morning and so far I don't think breaks my fast much if any according to some people I have read. I recently had to have blood tests and already a few of my levels that were high have come down. I do notice if I eat dessert it will affect how I feel the next day so I am trying to cut down on sugar. I want this to be a lifestyle so not being overly strict.

  2. I’m starting 12 hr 7 to 7 I hope it works

  3. So if I've never fasted before and I want to start… How do you start? Like you just stop eating or are there specific things you eat before stopping for that amount of time?

  4. It's inspiring to see how many people have found a sustainable approach to fasting that fits their lifestyle! I'm excited to experiment with some of these "dirty fasting" tips to see if they help me stay consistent and enjoy the process more. Thanks for sharing such relatable and encouraging advice.

  5. It's so encouraging to see everyone finding success with different approaches to IF! Finding what's sustainable and enjoyable seems to be the key, whether it's clean or "dirty" fasting. Thanks for sharing your experiences and inspiring others to find their own path.

  6. Can i drink chia seeds water while iam fasting

  7. I will never give up coffee with a little cream and I'm doing 20/4 and eat what I want

  8. You are a woman of awesome wisdom. I resonate fully with all of that.

  9. Don't complicate things. First is to eat clean as in mdoerate protein and vegetables/fruits and limit carbs/sugar. Then secondly, mixed it in with fasting/IF of your choice. 16/8 or 18/6 should work for majority of people. And then do some sort of cardio/physical activities: weightlifting, sports, walking, running, bouncing, yoga, etc.

  10. I totally agree with everything you said 👏

  11. Wait can you give an example of what your fasting plan looked like?? I’m just starting thinking about this and it’s Overwhelming!! Can’t stop watching so many videos and pod casts about IF.

  12. Great advice and video..thank you!!

  13. I tried half-and-half with two packs of Oreos. It’s not working.

  14. I just started my Weightloss journey this week on 1/29/25. I am tired of failing every year. I use to be 217 in 2015 when my dad passed and went down to 155 with counting calories and Intermittent fasting. I went back up to 169 recently 😢 and have to get serious again since I am turning 50. Losing this last 35 to 40 pds is hard. Hopefully your tips will help me reach my goal. I don’t want to be the chubby Asian friend anymore. 😂

I am down to 164.6 with intermittent fasting again. Hopefully I won’t fail this year.

  15. Kayla do you do electrolytes and when do you do them

  16. I am dirty fasting, like you, doing mostly 20:4 for the past 3 weeks, eating whatever I want in my window because I'm done restricting after 25 years of yo-yo-ing. I feel full of energy and confident that this is sustainable for me in the long haul. I'm not losing as fast as my impatient nature would like, but I do keep losing and this keeps me going. Thank you for your videos, your advice makes so much sense and I hope people who look into IF are encouraged to give it a try. 🙂

  17. yeah fasting research can easily become "drinking from a water hose". It is very easy to find information on all the benefits of extended fasts. But maybe save those for when you get in plateaus or need some brain boosting effects. Fasting in general helps heal your body but also give your body breaks from fasting.

  18. 22.5 hours fast, 1.5 hours eating. Having a bit of skim milk in my water-based coffee twice during the 22.5 fast. But I vary the fasting window according to my day.

  19. Best thing I ever did was reading the book Woman’s weight loss secrets: the unspoken truth, after applying the knowledge I got from the book I feel like the cellulite is magically disappearing from my body

  20. I’m bingeing all your content while doing laundry. ☺️ Appreciate all the knowledge.

  21. very realistic which I like, thank you

  22. I’m not a breakfast person, and have been doing coffee with cream and sugar first thing in the morning for years. But my weight was stuck. I cut the sugar and cream out, without reducing my overall calorie intake, and then lost 5lbs in a week with 16/8. Crazy!

  23. Thank you ❤❤❤❤ this is just what I needed to hear to continue

  24. I wish people would say how long it took to get to that goal weight!

  25. Thank you I’m a dirty faster too with half and half and two packs of no calorie sweetener 😊
