hey guys i'm tara welcome back to my channel today we're talking about holistic living tips for beginners since this is a video for beginners i do want to go over what holistic living actually is in case anyone doesn't know so i think there's a common misconception that holistic living is about living a healthy lifestyle eating healthy choosing healthy products and while this is a part of living a holistic lifestyle there's much more to it than that holistic living is about looking at yourself as an entire person an entire being so it means you work on your health from a physical standpoint but also working on the mind and working on your spiritual self so holistic living is about connecting the mind body and soul and thinking about that as you go about your daily routines the mind body and soul are always connected so to be your best self be your highest self to feel your best you really need to work on all three and each one will have an impact on the others if you're new to the term holistic or holistic living i know it could sound a little overwhelming that it's going to be very time consuming or a big change but it really doesn't need to be and that's what i wanted to kind of show you guys in today's video so we're going to go through the three parts so working on the body working on the mind working on the spirit or the soul and i'm going to give you different ideas on things that you could do to work on each area my suggestion would be if you are totally new to this i would pick one thing from each area to start working on or to start incorporating into your life that way it's not so overwhelming and it's a really good way to get into living a holistic lifestyle we're going to start with the physical body because i think it is the easiest thing to implement and i also think this is what people think about a lot when they're thinking about trying to be healthier or living more holistically okay so some suggestions on how you can take care of your physical body and live a more holistic lifestyle so one eating healthy which you may be doing already it doesn't mean that you can't have splurge and have a sweet or something like that every once in a while but overall making healthy eating choices you could definitely go really in detail into this as well and maybe there are a lot of changes you want to make to your eating habits maybe there's not so many i think the biggest one for people is to try to start to eat really minimally processed foods in my opinion processed foods are a really big culprit of kind of bringing your health down making you not feel as great so if you're going to choose one thing in terms of healthy eating start to limit start to eliminate processed foods another thing you could work on is if you are not someone who exercises starting to exercise and move your body if you're someone that's sitting and working all day and have a sedentary job i would say this is a very important thing for you it's important for all of us to exercise but especially if your work requires you to be sitting and resting for most of the day if this is you i do have a five-day program that is an exercise program for people who do sit all day it's totally free i will link that in the description down below if you're interested that can help you get started in an exercise program so if you're already eating healthy you're already exercising and you don't feel like you need to kind of tune up those areas another way to really think about living holistically is to take time for rest and self-care so sometimes some people are more of the get up and go and you're constantly going you never take time to rest or maybe you're someone who cares for everyone else and you don't care for you and that's another way to tap into living a holistic lifestyle you can obviously go into more detail on all of these suggestions that i gave you but this is just to give you a general idea of where you could start your journey okay so we talked about the body so now number two we're going to talk about taking care of your mind and your mental health our mind and body are connected so whatever is going on in our mind is going to also present in our physical body so that should give you some extra motivation to really take care of the mind as well an example that i like to use which you may have heard already if you've watched a lot of my videos or you read my blog but the easiest way i think for people to understand how the mind is affecting the body is when you look at how stress impacts your physical body so everyone's stress will present in their physical body in a different way but some common things that people may experience is say you're really stressed out some people tend to get tightness in their upper traps when they're super stressed out some people they get an upset stomach when they're stressed out some people get a headache some people maybe have like worsening of reflux and again like i always say all these things can be caused by something serious so don't just attribute it to stress make sure you get checked out by a medical doctor but it's just to give you an example of how your mind can impact you physically so some suggestions for what you can do to live more holistically and take care of your mind so my favorite suggestion is meditation and learning how to calm your mind tune out the external world quiet the mind which takes a lot of practice um that's how i like to take care of my mind in a holistic way but there's other things you can do if you're not really feeling like meditating or you're not ready to meditate or whatever it is so learning something new is a way you can challenge your mind and work on your mind so whatever you want to learn you want to dive into reading something that can benefit your mind and the health of your mind in a holistic way you could also listen to something motivational maybe listening to a motivational podcast to feed your mind with positivity that's another thing you can do another thing you could try is starting a gratitude practice this is a great way to bring forward in your mind things you are great for grateful for to focus on positive things and not be focusing on negative so that's a good way to take care of your mind as well as i'm talking about these things i keep thinking of videos i have that go into more detail on specific things i'm talking about like say meditation or gratitude practice so if you're interested in diving into any of these things i will list different videos that are related to them in the description down below okay so lastly ways to take care of your soul and your spirit to fully live a holistic lifestyle i just want to say spirituality and religion are not the same thing so you don't have to be religious to have a spiritual practice because i think a lot of people kind of bring the two together you can be religious and also be spiritual but you don't have to be religious to be spiritual if that makes sense i think you guys know where i'm going with that if you are someone who is religious and has a religious practice this may be already taking care of your spiritual health and that might be how you tap into your spirituality but if you're someone who is not religious and are looking for ways to tap into your spiritual side and to take care of your spiritual health i'm going to give you a few suggestions meditation is also a really great way to connect with your spiritual side so it's kind of two for one right because you're taking care of your mind and you're taking care of your spiritual self when you meditate if you're just starting a meditation practice i do think it's beneficial to first work on learning how to calm your mind and clear your mind once you are able to do this and it's never going to be perfect like you're always going to have times where it's difficult to clear your mind but once you kind of get into the routine and you feel like you're a little bit more comfortable in your meditation practice then using your meditation to connect with something greater than you and there's no specific thing that this has to be you can connect with a divine being you can connect with the earth you can work with feeling the connection all around you with everything in this physical world so there's a lot of ways you can tap into spirituality through meditation another way to take care of your spiritual self is to practice yoga and practicing vinyasa yoga will help you in this way because most of the poses do have a deeper spiritual meaning but if you really dive deep into the practice of yoga it will really help you kind of tap into taking care of your spiritual health i do have a free seven-day yoga experience as well that is a really great week to dive deeper into a yoga practice so i'll link that in the description down below for you guys my last suggestion for taking care of your spiritual health if you're not feeling like doing yoga you're not meditating is to just to start to notice the connection everything around you and to treat everything with kindness starting to see everything is one how everything in this world is connected that is a way that you could also start to kind of take care of yourself spiritually i got a puppy here for the ending i feel like hunter hasn't been in a video in a while   9. I'm sure that there is good advice here. I just searched for HOLISTIC WELLNESS and this popped up.
    Even more so, I think that we need to go back to what our grandparents did. My grandma had a home remedy solution for everything. Things like chiropractic care, and taking your vitamins, should probably be important, too. I need to get back on track with taking a multivitamin and drinking enough water everyday. It's helped me before.
