Treat High Blood Pressure's Root Cause by having a Complete Cardiac Examination

There is an epidemic of high blood pressure (hypertension) happening, and it's the one thing you want to control because it can cause heart attacks, strokes, plaque build-up in the arteries (atherosclerosis), among other ailments. Treating high blood pressure's root cause, metabolic syndrome, is key to lowering it and having a complete cardiac examination. So in this video, I will explain why the workup of high blood pressure in most patients is incomplete.

Hi again, it's Dr. Jamnadas from
cardiovascular interventions. And today we are going to
cover a very important topic, which is high blood pressure. And it's important because there's an
epidemic of high blood pressure going on. And it's important because there's an
epidemic of high blood pressure going on. And there's a lot of misunderstanding
about what high blood pressure is. And yet, if there's one thing that you want to
really control its high blood pressure, because it can cause heart
attacks, atherosclerosis, strokes, blindness, proof of acid
disease, kidney failure. So high blood pressure is very important
and it's totally misunderstood. So as a cardiologist, I see
patients with high blood pressure, but they really have end organ damage. So today I want to tell you what the
incomplete workup of high blood pressure is. Traditionally. When patients come
to see us for high blood pressure, we say that all 95% of them are
primary essential hypertension. Well, over the years, I've
realized there's nothing. Essential about high blood pressure. You don't have to have it. And the 5%. Have a secondary cause such as kidney
failure or some sort of a tumor in the body. But majority. Of them don't seem to have a cause for it. And therefore, the next thing is we take out the
prescription pad and we give you blood pressure medications, and that's right. We do want to get the blood pressure
down and you do want to get on a medications now early, before you
start developing end organ damage, but the incomplete examination, I want you to think about the things
that I'm going to tell you next over the years, I've realized that many, many patients actually can
reverse their high blood pressure. Unlike what I was taught
in medical school, that essential hypertension
is just essential. So the number one thing
I've realized is that metabolic syndrome causes
high blood pressure. If you reverse metabolic syndrome. High blood pressure goes away. What is metabolic syndrome? Metabolic syndrome is a
cluster of high blood pressure. You have a low HDL, a high triglyceride. You're overweight. Your
body mass index is over 25. You're overweight. Your
body mass index is over 25. And particularly most of the
mass is around the belly. And if you look around a lot. Of people with this
condition. Look right now, more than 50% of our population is weight, frankly, obese. it is a symptom
of metabolic disease. Now, not all obese patients or
overweight patients have metabolic. Syndrome. We know that. 80%. Of the patients who are overweight
have metabolic syndrome. But being overweight is only a symptom. Of metabolic syndrome because they are
20% of the patients who actually have metabolic syndrome, but they're
actually not overweight. And we call them tofus thin on the
outside, but fat on the inside, they have a metabolic condition in their
body that is actually causing them to have high blood pressure, liquid
abnormalities, fatty liver, high insulin levels. So
this metabolic condition, this underlying metabolic
syndrome can cause obesity. Cause when you have high insulin
levels, you're going to get obesity. So how, how is high blood. Pressure happening in patients
with metabolic syndrome? Whether they will be so not right what's
happening is that it's the insulin insulin really paralyzes the
arteries and the arterials. So they don't appropriately basal dilate. So when you have high insulin levels
due to a condition called insulin resistance, which is part of metabolic
syndrome and the problem with, with your metabolism, you
get high blood pressure. And over the last 10 years. That I've been actually treating metabolic
syndrome aggressively in my office here. And we've reversed
metabolic syndrome through a diet, exercise and weight loss and
changing to non-processed non refined foods, nothing artificial. I'm finding that the metabolic
condition gets better. Blood pressure gets better and the
weight automatically comes down. Now when the weight comes down, it's
not because of caloric restriction. It's because the metabolic
syndrome and the high. Insulin levels and all the other
hormonal imbalances are getting better. And when your insulin load comes
down, your weight comes down. So it's losing weight is not all about calories. The calorie
theory is totally debunked. It's not the calories in calories. Out and you know, eat
less and exercise more. That that's all out of the window. And we know that that's been
debunked for years, but yet most. People unfortunately
still go by that paradigm, which is a totally wrong
paradigm it's the hormonal imbalances that are causing metabolic
syndrome and causing your high blood pressure. So if you have high blood
pressure, you can't just stop. At saying, okay, I'm going
to take these pills now. No, you need to make sure you
don't have metabolic syndrome. You need to make sure you
don't have sleep apnea, which goes along with
of course being obese, but sometimes non obese patients
can also have sleep apnea. You want to make sure of course there's
no kidney problems and any congenital problems that you may
have. And other causes, there are some very rare
causes of hypertension too. But a complete workup includes. Your metabolic work up. So unless you know, your insulin levels, they should really know your
inflammatory markers in your body. Your triglyceride and your HDL
and the ratio of triglyceride to HDL. Unless you know these
in your, in your blood tests, you're not going to know what's
driving your high blood pressure. So. I've taken hundreds of patients
of antihypertensive therapy by addressing metabolic syndrome. How
do we address it? How do we treat it? It's through diet, mostly it's
through diet and lifestyle changes. So it's eating non-processed foods,
non refined products, no artificial, nothing that's processed
and eating whole foods only. And then the second part of it is I do
intermittent fasting and time restricted feeding in the office because
that restores insulin sensitivity. And there's some videos which are Already linked to this one on how to. Reverse diabetes and insulin resistance
through diet and intermittent fasting. So you can look at those, but that is one of the most powerful
things you can do to restore insulin sensitivity. When insulin
sensitivity comes back again, your insulin levels come
down as insulin levels down, your blood pressure gets
better as well. So yeah, I hope that you found this very helpful
because hypertension is not the end of the road. It means you now have the real work
of finding out why you have high blood pressure and how you can
reverse it. So if you like this, please hit the like button and sign up

  1. A 20-point decrease in my blood pressure level was the result of the Nathan one eleven Life, 2-week blood pressure level treatment which I looked last month. Nevertheless, you have got to exercise for approximately 35 minutes every day. The feeling I have now is extremely content for the reason that my high blood pressure is below the border line.

  2. My blood pressure fell from 178/96 to 120/78 just from taking processed wheat from my diet after 2 weeks of avoiding them. It gets even lower when i fast for 23 hours per day

  3. Thanks for that very interesting and excellent information……

  4. Another doctor on here actually said the same thing

  5. Wonderfully inspirational. This message gives direction and hope. Thank you.

  6. Dr. Jamnagas GOD BLESS. Greetings from Nigeria 🇳🇬

  7. Work is the major cause of high BP. Ie…stress

  8. Hi Dr. Pradip. Nice insights in to BP BS metabolism and insulin. I have high BP, am 64 male, have been on medication for hypertension for 6-7 years. BS 115-130 fasting PP. Always slim H=5ft 11in. Weight 76.5-78. Have smoken for a long-time. Junk food very occasionally. High carb or animal protein moderate. But 8 weeks ago had an heart attack and was put a stent in my rca. What food to take, what not to and exercise. How to get back to normal metabolism and insulin balance, kindly advise. Not smoking now. No fried foods. Medicines statin, blood thinner ecospirin and anti blood clot…3 tabs daily.

  9. All thanks to Dr Ozuka for helping me get my life back after I used his herbal supplements. His herbs are very effective in curing genital herpes

  10. I am proof of what the doctor is saying. At age 84 (male), I had pre-diabetes, high blood pressure and was using pills, inflammation, waist over 40‘‘… Through keto, I lost 15 kg. At that time, my body accepted this change as my good weight and kept my pressure generally in the 115/65-70 range without the drugs. The moment I relaxed and gained 2 kgs, those numbers changed for the worse. So, the body knows what is best. And it looooves the keto diet.

  11. I eat low carb (a lot of vegetables, mest, no seadoil, no suger, no processed food, exercise every day, no alcohol, eat 6/24, sleep at 21.30, meditate, Yoga, breathwork, No overweight! Low body fat (15%). Low HDL & triglyceried. Calcium score 0. STILL HIGH BLOODPRESURE!

  12. Im 38 i have high blood pressure and im currently on ridaq. The past month my bp rised to 173/113 on 2 occasions. Today my doctor prescribed amlodipine 5mg? What should i do

  13. This alternative Nathan one eleven Life is clear, concise, and simple to study. I just needed Two nights (few hours) of reading through the guideline to fully completely understand the guidebook. On keeping track of my hypertension, final results went from 148/98 on thanksgiving occasion to 116/78 within just Four week period.

  14. I fact checked the claim that high insulin levels result in vasoconstriction and resultant hypertension. ChatGPT says yes! And details many biochemical mechanisms.
    This guy is credible.

  15. Such a clear, good explanation!👍🙋‍♀️

  16. A 20-point decrease in my blood pressure level was the result of the Nathan one eleven Life, 2-week blood pressure levels remedy which I searched last month. Still, exercise for around THIRTY-FIVE mins daily is needed so that information to be useful. The opinion I have now is extremely content due to the fact my high blood pressure is under the border line.

  17. Doc I lost 7 stone in weight was diabetic now in remission but still have high Bo on meds

  18. how do diabetics and hypoglycemia do this

  19. Can exercises reduce high triglycerides?

  20. There is a cure for herpes simplex virus with the right herpes, I no longer suffer from genital warts since I used the herbs I got from Dr Ozuka

  21. Finally, a practitioner calling out the 'essential hypertension' label for what it often is: an incomplete diagnosis. Dr. Jamnadas is spot on that simply medicating the number on the cuff without investigating the 'why' is a massive gap in conventional care.

A crucial layer beyond metabolic syndrome, especially in patients who aren't overweight, is the autonomic nervous system's role. Chronic sympathetic overdrive from unresolved stress, poor sleep architecture (like undiagnosed UARS or sleep apnea), or a dysregulated HPA axis can keep vascular tone perpetually high. You can fix the diet, but if the nervous system is stuck in a 'fight or flight' state, the pressure often remains.

This deep connection between stress physiology and cardiovascular hemodynamics is a central theme I break down in my own content.

  22. I am so glad I found you and your video's. You are absolutely amazing. Please continue your training of us.

  23. your body needs salt ?

  24. If high blood pressure is so damaging to the body, how come the body hasn't come up with alarm system? High blood pressure is called silent killer because of this, you don't know you have it until you measure it.

  25. I wish you could be my doctor . I was going through menopause and my bp went so high but not all the time i am overweight also was put on 2 different pills and could not function so tired and then my bp was really low 😩 idk i think i need to take a trip to orlando

  26. Thank you for addressing the reason

  27. This is really helpful information, I want more ply.

  28. Thank you. Looks like I’m finished 😢

  29. Why has my left arm perfect BP while my right arm is consistently 30 points higher.

  30. What is considered HBP? I don't care what the pharma control studies show. AAFP says 140/90 is normal. of course your doctor says 120/80, anything above that is considered moving towards HBP…. BULL CRAP! My BP is in the range of 130's over low to mid 80's.. sometimes if drops into the upper 70's. If my BP drop to that 120/80, I will actually get light headed when I get up.

  31. I was told that exercise lowers Blood Pressure, but then I thought "is it the exercise or the Breathing that lowers it" It turns out that it is the deep breathing that you do. I sat taking deep but relatively fast breaths and my BP went down from 145/90 to 126/80 within minutes.

The only downside is that it isn't a permanent fix and doesn't last long, but any exercise has to be better than non I guess.

  32. Needed and appreciated! Thank you Dr. Jamnadas!

  33. Thankyou Sir. Very insightful

  34. Hi doc I am 65 years 😂i🎉 my weight is 60kgs high BP 180

  35. Dr.s want to see a patient every 15 minutes to make coin. Big coin. For many thats why they are Drs. And they really dont care to talk about life style other than a one liner. Everyone contribute- food industry, government subsidies (ie crap food) & bad recs for YEARS and bad health system
