now you might be thinking well I might have a little too much inventory but what's the big deal well there's a lot of research now that shows the negative impact of clutter on our mental health for example in a cluttered environment our stress levels go up along with feelings of anxiety we're also less focused and we're also more likely to be short with family members or other people living in our home you're also more likely to procrastinate and you might find that you have more difficulty controlling impulses and overall people that live in a cluttered environment report a lower quality of life so there's actually kind of a lot on the line

Been following you for about 5 years Dawn. So so thankful for your content . ❤️
i have some issues and tell you what. this video might be the kick in the ass i needed thanks.
Wise lady. Thanks for sharing.
Everything Dawn says here is soooo true!
Sooo true Dawn thank you!
LOL I would just like to add sometimes this is correlation not causation. Lower socioeconomic status people tend to have more clutter for a variety of valid reasons. Just a disclaimer, minimalism is still an awesome tool!
I don’t want to be a minimalist, but I do want less! I do procrastinate. But, I don’t know where to start. And making the decisions on what to let go, is overwhelming to me. I know I attach too much sentimental value to items. I have done one cabinet this spring and it felt so good!
My husband can agree that since we decluttered and simplified our home I am much much less snippy. 😅
I am not saying this can't be true…. But I am curious how the research was done. If they studied people whose homes are cluttered and found those characteristics, it could be that people who have higher stress and anxiety or difficulty with impulse control may have higher tendencies to collect clutter, rather than clutter causing the stress/anxiety/impulsivity.
I have been watching your videos for years. All the things. Just last night the hubby says, "Today I realized that my brain gets as cluttered as the clutter on the flat surfaces."
Last night. After years of me saying the same thing. Just. Last. Night. 😅
Where do i find the full video of this? What is ot called?
Wow! This totally describes me. Thanks for all you do.
Basically ADHD causes cluttered, which worsens ADHD symptoms, which worsens the clutter. It's a vicious cycle 😢
Walking through with this as my daily reminder: less clutter = less stress + easy clean up. Thank you for your channel, Dawn! It’s changed my life coming from a hoarding childhood!
Hahah. This describes me. When I feel overwhelmed by everything. Doing a massive clean out right now. Trying to get my family on board. Only got one car load taken away and lots more to go. But already that felt so good.
You feel better shedding baggage and old seasons too. Autumn for the soul. 🍂💗
