okay let's talk about infrared saunas so this is a really cool new tool that we're using in our office a lot of people are using at home and the idea behind infrared sauna is that it heats the cells from the inside out and it can burn out infections it can burn out toxins and it can get your body repairing itself at a very quick rate so in this resetar TV I get to dive in with sunlight and expert Alicia and we get to talk about why infrared sauna works so well so get ready this is a really good one [Music] [Music] okay Bri setters so I am really excited to have this conversation today because this next therapy has been incredible in our office incredible so let me just start off by welcoming Alicia Botti Rose thank you so much for joining us hi dr. Mindy it's so nice to be here and I'm super excited to talk with you and your group yeah and by the way I just want to point out because some people are listening to this some people are watching this Alicia is in her sauna this is like a lit what we call live it to lead it like yes when you're passionate about your product it's hard to not use it right well you know it is about 25 degrees today in Kansas City we had six inches of snow yesterday and it's snowing today so it's not a bad place to be yeah that's awesome and just to give you a little bit of a background on the reset errs you know we have this is a fasting grip leave fast together once a month and we do five days out of the month I call it fast training week and what's really incredible about this group of people is that people are discovering just how powerful their body can be and you and I have talked about this before like it's just crazy how little power we've been given over our own healing and one of the things that three centers are discovering is oh my gosh when I take food out of the equation all of a sudden my body heals and what I love about Sun lighten is it's a very similar concept we're just tapping into the intelligence of the body so why don't we start with infrared saunas what it is and why does it work yeah absolutely and I love talking with people who are fasting I think it is something that's going to become so natural in all of our lives moving forward and in a hundred years people will look back and be shocked at how much people ate before so it's super exciting I love that your group is on the Java and realizing the benefits thank you so infrared I'm really simple it's one of the spectrums or wavelengths that come from the Sun and you feel infrared versus see infrared so you feel it as heat so when you go into an infrared sauna it's going to be a lot cooler than a traditional sauna so the traditional Sun is where you pour the hot wok hot water on the rocks they're usually about 200 degrees and that's a convectional heat so that's all about heating the air in the room and so when you sweat and those saunas it's more of a surface level sweat off your pals so it's not really going deep it's just making you sweat because it's so hot and if you ever take a deep breath in one of those saunas it kind of burns your nose ya know it's awful infrared ideally is around 130 degrees and the interesting thing is our bodies actually absorb that in so it's that feeling of you know when you're cold to the bone and you're like I'm cold just I just need to warm all the way up not just like put a sweater on like I need to take a hot shower or something that infrared absorbs into your body so it's kind of like taking a stri sponge and putting it in water and it absorbs that water our bodies absorb that heat so it actually raises your core temperature about two to three degrees when you're in and you're in sauna yeah you know that when I equate it to is it feels like how I feel when I lay on the beach yeah and the hot Sun exactly the same so it's that infrared when you're on the beach that's warming your body up so nice and gentle it's what the cats love when they lay in that sunshine and that's what an infrared sauna is it's very very gentle it's not oppressive heat at all and it doesn't burn you so it's not going to tan your skin it's not going to burn your skin it's just going to give you that really deep deep comfortable warm feeling okay yeah and you know this this is you kind of hit on the other saunas one of the most common questions that I get and I was gonna bring this up later on but since you mentioned it is can I just go in my gym sauna is that the same and what I just heard is no it's not correct it's not the same so for several reasons number one it's going to be so hot that you're really not going to be able to stay in there long enough to get the benefits that we're going to be talking about number two it's not going to warm you up to the core so again it's just a convectional heat so you'll sweat because your skin is getting hot and it's hot in the room but your core isn't getting hot and when you warm yourself up from the core there's a whole bunch of health benefits that kind of cascade down from that yeah also in those hot hot saunas those could be really dangerous for a lot of people you know you're going into that extreme heat and if you have any heart problems or or even circulation problems autoimmune problems they just could be too harsh on your system and the point is if you enjoy doing something you're going to do it more often if you're forcing set yourself to do something you might do it for a week or two but you're not going to keep it in as part of your regular program yeah it can take your adrenals too you know if that's really hard on adrenal fatigue person so yeah that totally makes sense so okay so let's dive into the benefits why would you want to do an infrared what are you and and if you can talk a little bit about some of the studies that we are seen on it because one of the things I've really impressed upon people is that in our clinic we're not bringing in anything that doesn't have a good amount of research and I know infrared saunas do yeah well saunas in general have been in hundreds of years and in all different parts of the world and there's so many clinical benefits that are around them so number one it's going to help with heart problems so sunlight and actually did a clinical study a few years ago and it had a statistically significant reduction in blood pressure and the reason that happens is when you raise your core temperature that we talked about your heart is going to start to beat faster in order to cool itself down and when you do that you're going to improve your circulation so everything kind of like builds on itself when you're talking about the benefits so number one your circulation is going to improve you're going to get this really really deep deep so that's what most people correlate with when they hear an infrared sauna you will sweat morning infrared sauna then you will if you're outside on a hot day it's just this deep sweat like when your fever breaks like that kind of sweat yeah and there's studies that show that Anna sweat analogous if you take someone's sweat who was exercising and compared it to someone in an infrared sauna it was in a in the exercising example it was 97 percent water and 3 percent toxins and the sweat from a infrared sauna was 80 percent water and 20 percent toxins so it's way more detoxifying which is why we've got it in the clinic because we do so much heavy metal detoxing and one of for the if listeners are not familiar with the process behind detoxing the absolute step that people miss all the time is you got to open up your detox pathways and otherwise you're just trying to detoxify and the toxins are staying in and and the inference on it is just incredible for doing that correct and there's so many heavy metals specifically since you mentioned that that don't leave your body through two traditional pathways of going through the bathroom or exhalation so cadmium arsenic lead mercury those are all metals that have been shown to remove faster when you sweat them out so yeah and what happens what I've just been learning which is so fascinating because our bodies are such interesting machines everybody you know we all hate the fat on our thighs on our butt in our stomach and all over but what I've learned is that our body is actually using that fat to protect us from the toxins that we've ingested that we can't get out so if you have let's just say cadmium in your body and it's not going to leave by going to the bathroom your body will actually build fat around it to protect the rest of your organs in your system from this toxic metal so as you extend these metals are coming out you'll also notice that you'll start to lose weight because as those toxins leave there's no reason for your body to hold on to that fat yeah yeah I people don't want to hear this I always say that you're the fat you hate is actually saving your life yes because your body is so smart then it knows to put it in adipose tissue and store those toxins there instead of put it in nervous tissue or put it in your heart where it could have a more detrimental effect it's amazing isn't it and and we hear you know like I'm out I see you at all these events so I talked with so many people and one of the most common stories I hear is someone who bought an infrared sauna from me years ago and then they come up and they say you know the most fascinating thing is I quit smoking 15 years ago and when I use my infrared sauna today my sweat smells like smoke yeah because all of those toxins are still residing in your adipose tissue yes gross but I'm fascinated because we've done about thousands of heavy metal tests on people and cesium and thallium are two heavy metals that are found in cigarette smoke and when and those are in everybody by the way we haven't found anybody who hasn't had those but they're when they're really high I usually say to somebody did you smoke or did you grow up in a household that smoked and 100% of the time they either smoked or they grew up in a household that smoke that stuff stays in you yeah it doesn't leave it doesn't leave it but when you warm your core and you can get that heat to those deep parts of your app that's when they're starting to come out so that alone to me is like I'm on edge so okay so it's cardiovascular improved circulation its detoxifying okay weight loss and weight it's also really really good especially in this day and age that we're hearing so much about the opioid crisis that would be good for holistic pain relief so as were again improving our cardiovascular system it's a it's actually a passive cardiovascular workout as you're in an infrared sauna because your heart rate is going up while you're in this parasympathetic state and when you're improving your circuit and it's going to go to areas where you have inflammation and pain and help reduce that so you're staying away from all the meds that are involved even over-the-counter stuff that over time isn't good for your liver you can help deal with that just by using the sauna yeah and um you know the opioid thing is just spun out of control and it's like antibiotics where I feel like it's people are waking up they're starting to see that but then what do you do if you have chronic pain where are you doing right and you know again what we see in our clinic is a lot of heavy metal toxicity and chronic pain go hand in hand so what I just learned from you is oh my gosh if you take somebody who's already detoxing these metals you put them in the sauna that that could really have a massive impact on their pain levels exactly and to tie that in one step further another study has shown that using it sauna is especially infrared saunas helps with depression you have chronic pain if you've ever had an injury that is not healing it will make you go crazy in an annoying thing even if it's not a deep pain it's just that little bit of a gnat that's around you all day long so as you're reducing pain you're also helping again improve circulation to your brain it's been shown to reduce depression so but then you start talking about all of the medications that people take for depression so you're taking away their pain meds and helping holistically steal away the depression meds and help them holistically deal with that once you get people in a better mindset they naturally start to feel better you have a better outlook you can look at your problems and deal with them in a more even way and your your mood is just more more balanced yeah yeah I say this all the time that we are the way we've approached health in our country in the world but especially here in America is so reactionary yeah and we wait for things to break and then we try to put them back together with a very specific tool set called medication or surgery that is really not working anymore right and I'm trying to wake people up to us this fact that you know if you address the symptom from a place of why is it there what is my if my body could talk to me and tell me what's going on well would it want me to do and it wouldn't when it comes to things like depression and chronic pain it wouldn't want me to just shut it up with a medication right yeah it would want me to get to the root cause of why that it was talking to me in the first place exactly and doesn't it make sense that you would be depressed if you were in chronic pain and you were taking medications that then had side effects as well yeah so I feel like if you just fix the main problem everything else can kind of go away and live a happier life yeah absolutely talk a little bit about the parasympathetic because I just so people understand that there are two nervous systems that we have one that one that speeds us up that's our fight-or-flight and one that calms us down that's our our rest and digest and most people are just locked and fight-or-flight yeah so talk a little bit about how the sauna stimulates parasympathetic yeah it's a great question and it's something I love talking about because it deep so when you're in your sympathetic nervous system your body's being flooded with cortisol and there's times that that's great there's times that you really need that energy and that boost and you've got to remain on point and really focused but the problem is in this day and age were in our parasympathetic much all the time and our bodies are being flooded with cortisol it's almost like drinking bread ball all day long you know it's not doing you any benefits so when you get to a place that you can switch over to your parasympathetic system and get into asana that's cozy and it's warm and it's meant to put you almost to sleep your body will naturally relax so number one it's stress relief you're moving into the system where your body heals and recovers and at the same time you're heating it up so as your heart rate is beating you're really relaxed when that's happened so it's a passive cardiovascular workout you're not doing it today and you're relaxed and you're sweating while you're completely completely at peace and not stressed out so there's different benefits and your body's going to react differently because you're not having that cortisol fled your body so if you're exercising in your sweating that there's that tense that sense but if you're relaxed and your muscles are soft and you're really in that kind of alpha phase where you're kind of almost in that meditative or falling asleep when your body's sweating think about how much more relaxed your muscles are you know if you were to get a massage when you were tense it's not going to be as good as if you were relaxed and this infrared when you're relaxed can just go farther and deeper it can warm up more areas and it could be better for your mindset as well so it's that rest and recovery along with the deep sweat is where the magic happens have you ever heard of the polyvagal theory a little bit tough but talk about it no ice oh my god I got geeking out on this like a couple years ago and the idea is that the way the nervous system is designed is that we're supposed to have moments where we come out of the rest and digest into fight or flight and then we go and run from the bear or we handle the crisis and then we go back into the rest and digest but because we live in such a stressful time physical emotional chemical we're not going back into rest and digest so there's a new nervous system that's actually forming in the human body and they're calling it the freeze nervous system well it's where you're in fight-or-flight the majority of time and now you your nervous system just shuts down mm-hmm well in the freeze nervous system you you know you withdraw you this is where addictions can lie where you start to numb out using anything from your phone to substances that's abuse but your body it doesn't even know how to get down into this rest and digest because it's like locks people in in the freeze mm-hmm but it's like a whole nother nervous system that's emerging in the human body because the amount of stress strain and stress were under I think that's so scary very scary I'm reading a lot I love Joe Dispenza narrator love him so I was reading one of his books this weekend and he's talking about you know it really should be your mind that's controlling your body but we've turned it into our body controlling our mind so we don't even have intuition anymore which is why we get so stressed you know you have things going on in your life and you think I can't even get quiet enough to think through what's the best decision for me because there's just so much happening I can't quiet down to even know like who I truly am or what I really want from this situation so anytime you can take 30 minutes out of your day a few times a week to just really relax and let your body heal you know there's there's health benefits but then the mind benefits as well it's yeah and what I always preach is that we have to understand we're living in the most toxic time in human history yes but we were having an interesting conversation as a family last night at our dinner table about how a certain animals adapt to the environment that they are placed in and we got done at the conversation I said well that's what's happening to the human body right now is it's adapting to this crazy environment that we're in so because of that we have to have other tools we need tools like the sauna we need tools like like we've got a hyperbaric in here and okay I talked to Scott Nelson from Juve weekend loved him yeah oh it's so fascinating so we need these tools these are not just luxury tools these are tools that you use in this modern time to be able to live in this environment otherwise you will adapt and you are going to adapt in a very negative way yes so anyway so I just I just find that fascinating yeah the other thing I'll tell you is I always explain to patients that the sauna is like inducing a fever that it's like when you do it when your body raises its core temperature it's trying to burn out an infection yeah would that be accurate it is it is so we're creating a state of hyperthermia so hypothermia is when you go out on a day like today and you get cold hyperthermia is when you're raising your core temperature and it is like giving yourself a fever but I always shy away from saying that because people think I'm gonna make them SEC we're not making you think we're just talking by your temperature going up and the reason that when you do get sick that you get a temperature it's your body's way of fighting off something inside of it that is foreign that it doesn't want in there so fevers are actually good things I was gonna say that fevers are great things they're great they they boost your immunity so if you ever feel like that that sense of oh my gosh I'm getting the flu or I'm like the beginning of a cold and you go into an infrared sauna that cold will be walked wiped out by the time you get out because as your body gets warmer it will kill anything that is or fight off anything that has entered in that doesn't belong there it's also the reason that people with Lyme disease and fibromyalgia love infrared saunas because the spirochetes from the Lyme even though every person can react differently to a medication and what would work for you wouldn't work for me one thing that the spirochetes all hate is heat so the more you can raise that core temperature the less brain fog you'll have and the less of that deep achiness that you'll have interesting and how often do you have I know I know that we've had this issue with like the hyperbaric and Juve I asked Scott about this what and when when if you have a condition like Lyme or something that you're really trying to treat how often do you have to get into the sauna you know you it depends on each person so I can say I can't give like a medical advice but over here both this is what I'll tell anybody whether they were had Lyme or whether they were healthy and just trying to be preventative you have to listen to your body so with infrared specifically you will sweat a ton the sauna the solo sauna that you have when I get out of that sauna I am drenched like I got out of a pool and I'm not even a sweater so you sweat a ton with an infrared sauna so for me I can't because I can't hydrate enough to get my body back to feeling good so from me the sweet spot is about three to four times a week and there are people who can use it every day so if you wake up the day after you use the sauna and you feel great and you feel energized and you're really alert then use it every day for a few days to see if that's good for you but if you wake up the next day and you feel tired and you feel heavy and you just feel lethargic and that overtraining that's actually dehydration so you're not gonna feel thirsty you're going to feel heavy because what happens is with dehydration the the fluid your body doesn't have enough fluid so instead of your the blood in your veins and arteries moving like a river it's moving like hot fudge you want it to hydrate enough that it's moving like a river so it takes time and everybody's different as to how their body can absorb and hold onto fluids and what does it mean if you go in the sauna and you don't sweat have you seen people who do that I have and usually is that they're dehydrated so if you don't have enough fluid in your body you're not going to be able to sweat it out okay the protocol that I share with people is you should drink before so at least about an hour before a drink at least eight ounces of water with some minerals in it if you really want to do a little biohacking dry-brush before you get into the sauna because that will up it even more drink while you're taking your session and then drink it afterwards and your body will really start to adjust to the infrared and you'll sweat a lot faster interesting okay that was good I like that cuz these little tricks are great for that you know the other thing we've seen is and this has happened on more than one person is where their skin is really red and blotchy then a couple of people that stayed that way for like 24 hours mm-hmm I have a theory of what that is but I'm curious what your what you think it is yeah and I love to hear yours afterwards so I've spoken to a lot of different people about this and what I've learned as the again your helping your circulation right so your blood is going to be flowing a lot easier and faster to all areas of your body so there's tiny little capillaries and veins and arteries that are close to the top of your skin are going to get flooded with blood as well so it's areas that normally don't get circulation now will be flooded with circulation so when that happens you're going to get those red marks like my skin always gets kind of red and it goes away so it's never anything dangerous it's just more again improving your circulation yeah and so we do do so much detoxing in our clinic and I am convinced that the people that get the splotchy is especially in the beginning are it's the closed pathways so you're opening up those pathways to your point and you're just for the first time getting circulation like you said to areas that haven't been hot you haven't had circulation – yes and that's why with those people if you dry brush before it's kind of it's gonna be not as harsh for them yeah my you learn when you detox thousands of people yeah when the body gives like an adverse symptom you're like that's awesome I know you get so excited I'm like no you like the worst thing you can do with the detox or even something like this is go is do the do the technique do it use the tool and and experience nothing right you know we want to shake the body's healing up and healing often looks like blotchy red blotchy skin right – or a fever that's the healing response right and often I hear from people with heavy metals specifically the first probably two or three times that they use it when they're done with their sauna session they'll feel like they're gonna be sick and it's really that they've gone too long and too hot their first couple of sessions because a lot just came out and it's flooding their system so it's like a fluish nauseous kind of feeling and it goes away but that's a number one sign that you definitely need to be doing this ready 1 right but maybe not as intense like you really want to go low and slow like barbecue yeah and so so is there like this is what we use with the hyperbaric and kind of practically used this technique where when you're first going in to heal the body you want to go in more frequently but then as the body's healing more you go in less often is that is that kind of how you guys see people using the infrared it is so so you want to use it on a regular basis so the more regular it is in your schedule the more benefits you're going to see but you don't need to do it as much as if you were healing something out so again for me it's two to three times a week that's kind of my my special place where I try to fit in if I'm not traveling just like going to the gym you know like if you do it on a regular schedule you'll definitely see the results more than if you just go once in a while and is there a time limit how often people should be going in it yeah so for time the ideal is 30 to 40 minutes anything more than 40 minutes you're just going to see diminished returns it's you know some people like to sleep for whatever it's not going to hurt you but it's also not more beneficial than if you did forty minutes or thirty minutes yeah that makes sense okay and then the question I know everybody's thinking cuz we get this on everything who shouldn't go in it yeah so really what we always say the number one thing is women who are pregnant and the reason is it has nothing to do with the infrared energy that's coming out from the sauna and actually has to do with raising your core temperature so it's no different from using a traditional sauna or going in a hot tub they say pregnant women shouldn't use those but the interesting thing is just in this industry I talk with lots of different people from all over the world and in Finland where saunas are born using a sauna when you're pregnant is actually recommended because it helps your body heal it's nice relaxing now they've adjusted to it because they've been using it their whole lives but it's something that you know it's part of being pregnant that you should add into your life but I would never say that here I but again like if you were if you were pregnant and you were just cold and you just wanted to warm up a little bit you can put it on a lower temperature and like warm up your legs or your feet or something yeah we learned also the from the last seminar we were at where we saw you we've been putting people with really stiff muscles I'll just have them I think maybe you might have told me this I have them go in the sauna for 10 minutes and then they get out we use the rapid release on yes you get the month it's so cool in combination yes so some of my hacks are I love to use an infrared sauna and then get a deep tissue massage or a lymphatic massage and it is 10 times better it's so much more relaxing because your body is so warm and relaxed and then that lymph massage you know you're really because you're your body's so calm moving that limp around it's just a lot easier and you can feel stuff kind of pockets leaving your body so one of my favorite things to do yeah the other hack we've done is we've put people on the vibration plate afterwards very good because everything's released and get them just get it kind of moving throughout that's great and then I would also say depending on if people like this or not but if you use CBD for any pain putting that on after your session because your pores are going to B be open on your body so any kind of creams or lotions or oils that you use after your sauna session are going to be much more effective as soon as you leave so it also stresses the importance of using good quality makeups or anything on your body because you don't want to expel all these toxins and then put something like lipstick that has a ton of lead in it so really good like a steam one of my sleep packs I always use this on it I'll take a cool shower and I'll put on a magnesium lotion like a transdermal magnesium and you will sleep like for it it's one of the best weeks of your life and same thing with if you have a really good CVD using that at night I love that we also you know some of the women in our clinic will use progesterone cream yeah go through menopause I just you got me thinking even bigger I love it yeah so you just want to make sure whatever you use afterwards is really really good quality because it's gonna go your pores are open and it will be absorbed very very fast okay and would you if you were gonna do hyperbaric and infrared wouldn't would you you do hyperbaric first and that way yeah that's kind of what we're thinking too and then I would do your juve after because your pores are open here's like your body is very relaxed and when you're relaxed you're going to heal more so standing in front of that red light after your sauna session when you've expelled all those toxins then you're gonna add the healing benefit of red light so it's gonna make it more effective I love it and does it matter if you have clothes on in it or if you're more more skin contact is there – there really the less amount of clothing the better okay in a public place you know if you wanted to be in gym clothes like a tank top and shorts that's totally fine some people wear a bathing – totally fine I think it's best if you're going to wear clothes to wear something caught and that's really light and breathable but if you can go in without anything or just one of our bamboo towels that's great – yeah okay awesome no I you've expanded my vision of how to use is amazing so a couple of thoughts for people who maybe aren't close to our clinic or they want to use I know there's lots of different versions of the sauna and we we purposely chose the solo because we like the head out yes but you also have other versions is that what's the difference of the different types of saunas you have we do so they're all effective so the first thing people think is always the solo as effective as one of the wooden units and the answer is yes it has to do a size it has to do a space it has to do with budget we have something for everybody so the solo unlike you have again a lot of people who don't like to breathe in hot air or if they're sick like with Lyme disease they don't like their whole body submerged in the heat it's really nice because your head stays out and that one also plugs into a standard out it you can store it in a closet when you're not using it it doesn't have to be like part of your house like in the middle in the corner of your room right so then we have our wooden units and we have two types we have a far-infrared wooden unit and it comes in various sizes from a one-person to a foreperson and then we're the only sauna that has farm it in there so it's our three-in-one wooden sauna that's what I'm sitting on okay it comes in different sizes as well so from a one-person first six person and that one's super cool because it has far-infrared it has and it has near-infrared so kind of like it has your juve built into the wall and it has the fire and the mid-infrared as well so it also comes with program so you'll see control panel and so there's six different programs so kind of like you know you get on your treadmill and you can say do I want to do house or do I want to do interval training for this we have a cardio program we have an anti-aging program we have a relaxation program pain relief weight loss and detox and then you could also make your own programs as well so you can just come in press the button and let the energy do the work for you you just fall asleep amazing and how do people find do you have like if they go to Sun lightens website did they have practitioners that have them or places they can go spas that they could get some of these we do so if anybody wants to try it out you could always call in go to our website you could always email me Alicia at sunlight and calm I can tell me where you live and we can see where we can send you around the country to try it out and then we also sell just as many into people's homes as we do their practitioners and spas we that that has been the most surprising thing to me when we brought this in is how many of our patients loved it so much that they bought their own yeah and like you said the solo just it compresses down so easily that you could store it so easily you guys did an incredible design on that yeah if that product has been a top seller for at least ten years and I like to call it the rock star sauna because a lot of really well-known a list celebrities that are on tour will that sauna and bring it with them because it helps them heal after being on stage so if you think of a certain lady who our office I mean people just love it so much and I love the look on their face when they come out of it like they're just peaceful and it's just it just is incredible to see the body heal with it and detoxing I don't want to say it's become effortless but it's become a lot easier since we now have that as a tool I totally agree and we're so so honored to be in your clinic because we know how high your standards are so when you chose to add us it was like oh my gosh and can't believe it and thank you now it was so funny because we just moved hit into the new clinic and there's a space next door and I'm like I think when that space opens up I'm gonna have to rent it because we just have so many cool pieces that we want to bring in when the infrared is completely booked it's like okay well now we need another one where are we gonna want the next I love it I can't wait to come and visit someday yeah please do so this was great Alicia no this is really it's so helpful for people to understand Its probably my ADHD… but I can't get past this… is your phone in your 130 degree IR sauna with you? And it doesn't overheat?!?
Can you give the correct spelling of her name. I tried to email her but it came back undeliverable. Thanks
Maybe the BEST video on sauna benefits on the internet. So much information and beautifully presented. Thank you.
Love this video, i know it's 3 years old but just purchased a sauna blanket for my xmas gift, and i'm curious, is there a video Dr. Pelz, where you talk about keto foods/low carb foods that still have toxins in them that we should be avoiding? I am a pescatarian/low carber 🙂 thank you!
P.S.
When she says drink minerals before using the sauna, can we use LMNT?
I went to the website and couldn't find any actual products. I have a portable (solo?) one but have NEVER stuck my head out. I sit inside on the floor and love it–but it's bulky and I want one that easily folds.
Dr Pelz. Thanks as always. When doing ADF(36 hours water fast, 12 hr eating window), can we go in the Infrared sauna at any point during the fast? Or is it better to go in at the beginning or middle of the fast?
Dry brush?
I'd love to know if there are certain times in a womans cycle where better or worse to do infared sauna ? Thanks for all your work – I'm loving Fast Like a Girl x
I’m a hairstylist and I have been following down the natural path. I started following Paul Saladino , I’ve been doing the animal based diet. And it’s waking me up to hear how much of these etrogenic toxins are in our life. Down to my “natural” hair care. Anyways, this is making me realize my calling. I’m a healer at heart and love to know that my tools are truly there to help.
Thanks for this information I definitely need this in my life. ❤
Hi Dr. Mindy, I really like saunas but I’m only able to get something like a blanket for now. Would you recommend something like a HigherDOSE sauna blankets? I’ve heard they emit toxins/chemicals? Thanks in advance!
Dear Dr Mindy. Thank you very much for this video. I am keen to understand about Infrared saunas and this has been helpful. One request for you going forward please. You have many non US views, me being one of them. Based in the UK and EUROPE. When you bring these wonderful products to your audience, please do include those of us that live outside the USA, and that includes the supplements you suggest too. That would be really helpful. Many thanks.
This is one of the best explanations on infrared sauna. Can it also help women with PCOS and insulin resistance? Thanks
What fascinates me most about this is when all the naysayers come out and say, "Oh there's no proof that your body can detox" or "You can't sweat out toxins, it's a total lie" But you get these people who smoke for a number of years, they quit smoking, then they do a sauna detox and their sweat smells like cigarette smoke.
Give me more evidence than that.
Thanks for sharing this video,I want a infrared red sauna
Good stuff! You guys win YouTube today! Thank you 😊 💓
What is your guest's training in this field or is she a seller of IR Saunas? I can't find the benefits she mentions in studies on infrared saunas, but only some of them in studies on Traditional Sauna practices reported in some detail by Dr. Rhonda Patrick. This woman does not cite specific studies, and sounds like a saleswoman, not a scientist.
Thank you ladies for spreading the good word on IR sauna benefits! Appreciate all the great content, advice and recommendations to help the body heal in a natural and healthy way!💖🦋
Hi Dr. Mindy, do all people need to sweat? I do perspire but heavy sweat times some time for me to do. Now I do sweat when I go into a sauna. Can you guide in this because I hear that sweating is awesome for you…should I worry if I don't?
Deep cleanses / fasts with detox herbs and normal cardio and stretching can dump allot of toxins.
Nothing is perfect but over lapping tools and terrific and layer your healings so adding infrared saunas it will help again and allot.
If the smokers had done deep toxics there would be little to nothing for them to sweat out in the sauna 20-40 years later (likely extremely little).
I used a steam sauna 2X a day (1hours and quick cold dips) and took 3-5 hrs of Thai Massage per day w/ 70%+ raw foods, herbs, and meats/fish mixed with herbs…
+ low stress and high fun, for a break thru 6 month period in my life.
Results?
I beat a death diagnosis from bone cancer related treatment toxicity and no recurrences after being given 12-14 months to death.
I also practiced forgiveness like it was a sword in a martial art movie… I was on it.
Once you practice forgiveness again and again and mix it with gratitude sessions… you will clear many levels of history you’ve long forgotten about…
Why do this ?
Releases old held stress. It’s fascinating.
I heard both saunas are excellent and are best mixed to keep you adapting.
Get both. But most gyms have the dry… so you could go ifr at home and dry when out n about at gyms / clubs.
Do any of you have a suggestion for which companies have the best saunas?
I just bought my 1st ever infrared sauna. OMG I am excited, cannot wait for it to arrive :))
I used steam sauna after exercise.
Excellent show Dr Mindy!

Does sauna affect quality of eggs if trying to conceive? Doesnt the heat affect ovulation and quality of egg.
You really do a great job!
Great information thank you
I love my sauna
Ive been using a personal one person infrared sauna since 2014 for lyme disease and mold exposure illness. I have seen significant improvement in my health. When i started, i sweated out dark film and i used a skin scrapper and paper towels. Over the years, the “sludge” went from a dark purplish grey to beige… especially out of my face and upper body/back/chest. Now, hardly anything but sweat comes out of my face. I didn’t do it every day. I plan to keep doing sessions for the rest of my life.
She's my favorite Doc.. But I don't understand how she can support it THAT much.. ?
@Dr. Mindy Pelz Can you suggest a good infrared sauna maker to buy from.? All saunas are not created equal. I want to purchase from a trust worthy company for healing. What do you suggest?
I really would just like to have a list of potential benefits of infrared saunas. I am not in the market for one, I just want to know why I should invest in some sessions at a local salon. This is too much information and chitchat.
I use an Amethyst infrared mat for 30 minutes followed by a far infrared sauna for 30 minutes, rinse off immediately to prevent re-absorption of toxins, and then use a rebounder or vibration plate. On exercise days I will follow that protocol with a 15 minute EWOT (exercise with oxygen therapy) session 3-4 days per week to saturate the plasma and tissues with oxygen and use a PEMF device (I use EarthPulse) at night to also help with mitochondrial function and healing. Much more to this, but very good video explaining the benefits of infrared sauna. It works!
Did my first infrared sauna session and it was devine! so calming and relaxing!
There is a sauna detox group that shows you how to detoxify 5 times faster using a special b vitamin before you sauna. Here is the group. Thank me later. http://www.facebook.com/groups/saunadetox
Great timing! I just bought a portable one last week and have started using it. This answered a couple of questions for me and gave me some ideas to try. Love it so far. Hope to buy a built in one when the bathroom gets remodeled one day….
Happy New year Dr. Mindy!! Loving your videos ❤️ discovered you on an interview with Ben Azadi at keto kamp a few months back! I'm interested in getting a infrared sauna this year but I'm a little confused. Started looking into the benefits of saunas recently and found all these terms like infrared, far infrared and red light, are these all the same? I understand what the regular saunas using heat that we've all known about for decades and steam rooms as well, just mixed up about all the other ones. Please clarify, thanks 😊 sorry about the length of this request 😞
Dr mindy I have a home 4 person infared sauna and thought I should tell you what I did to improve it . When it comes up to temp your siting in it waiting for the sauna to cool off so the infared heaters wiil come back on . It takes 4 to 5 min. To cool off . So I installed a little relay and bath fan so when the heaters go off the fan comes on and as soon as the heaters come on the fan goes off the heaters are only off for 15 sec . Bottom line is in a 45 min period you are only geting 25 min of infared . With the relay and fan you get 42 min of infared.the cost was 40 dollars. Bottom line is if you use it 4 times a week and don't have the relay and fan your losing 15 minutes each time or one hour a week. That's 2 days a year your waisting sitting in a hot box . I would be glad to talk to you or someone that wanted to do it . Thanks for all you do you have been a blessing to me . At age 67 it has been a game changer Iam still working at my heating business for the 38th year in mich and feel wonderful .
Infrared is hear.
I have been in the Vulkán Szauna in Budapest 🇭🇺 at 80 C, with the icy cold plunge pool to go back and forth between. (176 F) Looking forward to the Red Light
Who is the
person Dr. Mindy is interviewing? Nothing posted in the comments, nor her website…. ?
Video and info was great. I found the Sunlighten Co very expensive and very pushy. Bought my personal sauna from another company.
I'm a paid firefighter and we bought one 3 years ago to detox from the chemicals in smoke. I knew it helped but love this video to share with the guys as to why they need to get in it!!🔥
i dont sweat much, but i'm hydrated. maybe its bcuz of the frequency/heat temp?
