hello everyone today's video is about hitting early menopause and whether there is anything that can be done about that uh just before jumping into the video if you don't mind taking a quick moment to please like share subscribe and or post a quick comment on the video I'd really appreciate it so thanks and advance for taking a second to do that and as per usual nothing I'm saying should be construed as medical advice this is for informational purposes only and if you need medical advice please talk to your healthcare provider to get that advice so the question today reads um let's see here do you have any videos about hitting menopause early and what to do about it I just turned 40 and my body is showing the signs of menopause early likely from immune dysfunction and Lyme disease that I am fighting my mom hit menopause age 52 uh someone told me to read the book estrogen matters is it true that old naturopathy is insisting on being all natural and now it is ideal to do some sort of HRT just hormone replacement therapy um and yeah that's that's the question or the question so thank you for the questions and um yeah it's a good topic um to talk about I've had you know quite a few patients over the years that are um showing signs of you know being per menopausal or sometimes being fully menopausal U really you know early into their 40s sometimes at 40 I think maybe a couple of patients like you know very late 30s um which generally speaking is is very very early um you know the mention that your mom was metop pule at 52 you know it's um good information to have because there does seem to be maybe some well there there there is definitely um trends that I have seen over the course of time with different family members or um uh the time that a mother goes through menopause that her daughter would maybe go through menopause around a similar time so you know really early or really late menopause so that that is definitely relevant so definitely take that taking that into account that this seems to stand out as being different it's not a familiar familial Trend um so I've had quite a few patients over the years um where you know they're showing signs of menopause you know whether they're having hot flashes or night sweats or maybe other symptoms associated with anopa you know some faginal dryness or some um challenges in that neck of the woods um or um they're just having you know really erratic periods uh you know really long periods or multiple periods in one month like menstrual flows in one month um or just sometimes being just frankly menopausal and once we start working on their health issues like and sometimes they're coming in because that's their concern um and sometimes they're coming in saying you know I'm really tired and brain foggy and digestive issues and whatever happens to be and oh and by the way like I I'm par menopausal already and I'm 41 so they're not worried about it there's like oh by the way this is what's going on um and so then um in a number of those cases once we start working on regulating their overall health uh working to improve their overall health you know improving their digestion and energy levels you know which oftentimes relates to some lifestyle things like optimizing sleep you know trying to optimize um exercise uh diet things like that but also you know maybe supplements to support their adrenal gland function or their mitochondrial function or their you know getting their their gut dispos under control um then as they're feeling better um I've had a number of patients they're like oh my I'm no longer seem to be in per menopause I am menstrating regularly again things are you know back to the way that they were back in my 30s and 20s and whatnot um or I've had a few patients that um have actually you know been they haven't had a menstrual flow in like know 1 2 3 4 5 years and then they start menstruating again and that's a couple of them were actually angry with me like I didn't know this was going to happen I said I didn't know it was going to happen either just trying to help you to be healthy but as their physiolog is regulating I think their body had originally said you know what there's just a lot of stuff going wrong here we're going to just shut down this venril cycle thing because you know there's too much too many balls to juggle um and then once things are doing better with their physiology then oh now I'm the body is saying okay I guess we can handle that again let's you know restart that process again and they start menstrating so I remember one patient in particular she was quite cross with me that her menal psycho was back it's like man just don't don't shoot the messenger like I'm just trying to give you advice here to try to be healthy um because that's what you came in for so um so in my opinion and there's nuances to this and every case is going to be different but um in my opinion in general I think that when there are signs of um you know early menopause or pre your per menopause you know uh say before the age of definitely before the age of 45 I'd say even before you know before the age of say maybe 47 48 um I I think that's generally speaking too early and that's a sign that there's some type of physiological dysfunction now again there's going to be different cases and you know not speaking to any individual case but just as a generalization um that that has been my clinical experience and one of the things that we do know is that the sooner the earlier that um a woman goes into menopause then it does increase her risk of certain conditions because the longer the one is non-menopausal then the more um you know estrogen there is kicking around to build up you know stronger bones and things like that and and granted there are certain um you know say cancer types like you know say estrogen sensitive cancer types that there's going to be a lower risk if there's an earlier menopause but um you know there there's a cost benefit ratio there um but at the end of the day I think that um just the fact that when I have worked with uh patients who are experiencing par menopause or full menopause what seems to be prematurely and then that rectifies with you know optimization of their health I think it's a pretty strong um clue that you know it's really not um optimal to be you know having early menopause um or or per menopause so that's kind of my general thought on that um and then let's see here so getting back to right so you know what what to do about hitting um you know menop early or you're being per menopausal early so you know of course you can't give any direct advice via social media but um some of the things that I have found to be helpful in those cases would be um you know as I was kind of alluding to earlier um looking at adrenal gland support like adaptogenic herbs things like um Sandra and alther or alther caucus rather ashanda we use this combination formula that we call alther oganda so hence the elther aanda um so anyways um so adaptogenic herbs like that also I find it adrenal gland extract like um whether it's cow or Pig um adrenal gland extract which can be found from various supplement companies can be a really good adjunct um certainly mitochondrial support I've many videos talking about mitochondrial dysfunction and talked about my M the mitochondrial sport formula that I use on a very very regular basis um so if you know a woman comes in she's you know showing signs of early menopause or par menopause um and she's really tired brain foggy it's like well her mitochondria are dysfunctional you know we need to boost those up she's over stress well maybe we need to work on work with some of those adaptogenic herbs um you know there's a lot of anxiety maybe we're going to be or insomnia maybe we're going to be working with things like liposomal Gaba or rora are a couple of my favorite things to work with to help with you know uh addressing sort of nervous system issues like that um and uh and then also just general hormone balancers so um sometimes female patients will come in and they'll say you know I've had a really they don't say these exact words but um after I do the intake the the uh what they're saying between the lines is basically I've had a very erratic menstrual history you know maybe really heavy flow or really you know sporadic um Cycles you know a lot of painful menes and so subtexts like my hormones have been wonky and they've not been working well um and then you know then I'm having early menopause and so or par menopause and so that's a clue to me that okay we need to work with some hormone regulation the hormones have been struggling and so maybe they're you know again kind of giving up Prem maturely or throwing in the towel prematurely and so working with hormone regulating herbs um there's a combination formula that we use here at the clinic all the time we just call it the hormone tincture because it's in a tincture form alcohol-based extract of herbs but could be taken in capsules as well and its equal parts of Vitex which is also known as Chase tree um wild yam um also known as diaria um and then also Angelica sinensis also known as dongu um and and um I've seen really really good results with that formula over the course of time um and you know sometimes it does have to be worked with for uh you know a few months to like really kind of get the ball rolling with things but um it can be really really helpful it's just a just a good General hormone balance or hor hormone regulator um there could certainly be other factors to consider you know if someone's dealing with lime disease or they're dealing with mold toxicity or they have a bunch of uh Snips on their genetic report or they have histamine issues or whatnot like these are all things that can certainly um muddle up their biochemistry their physiology and so we might need to work with those things too but just as kind of for more um uh kind of General thoughts on this topic then those are those are some of the things that I found to be very helpful over the course of time um as far as the HRT question goes the hormone replacement therapy um I can't really speak for naturopathy naturopathic medicine as a whole um I I I would not say that you know it's just generally that is generally the thought of every ND nowadays that like oh HRT is definitely the way to go there's there's def there are definitely differences of opinion on that um but I I do feel that bioidentical hormone replacement therapy seems to be a safer bet than just standard hormone replacement therapy but um that's maybe a topic for another day uh thank you again for the questions if anybody has any questions or comments on this topic or anything else just post in the comment section below and I will do my best to answer as soon as I can

  1. THANK YOU SO MUCH for answering my question!!! I'm so blessed by your personable response taking my question. Appreciate it. Great insight. I am working through healing lyme disease so this is part of it. Love what you said about supporting the adrenal glands since they control so much of the hormone communications. God bless you and your genuine caring heart.

  2. I had a hysterectomy at age 41 but kept my ovaries. I still went into early menopause at age 45-46. Should I take HRT??

  3. How about Andropause for men?
