Greg starts with a freshly washed and conditioned beard, which he does every other day. He can't air dry his beard, Greg says, or he looks like Bozo the clown (I doubt that very much), so he has to do some work to get his dapper beard under control. To achieve a similar style for a medium texture, medium full beard, follow Greg's advice.
Not too fine, not too course, Greg likes to add some product to his beard that will give him some more fullness, density and courseness. Beardbrand Salt Spray is added when it's still wet, working it in and then combing it through to distribute the product.
Greg takes a bit of the curl out of the sides and adds a bit of wave to the chin of his beard by blow drying and using a .5 inch diameter round brush. He works downward with a hot setting and then coaxes the hair under at the bottom. Once it's in the right place he hits the beard with the cool air option on his dryer to set the hair in place. At the jawline Greg uses the brush to roll the hair down and back.
The mustache today will be worn down so he uses the brush in a similar direction to pull the hair down and blend it into his beard.
Greg enjoys a lot of product in his beard so he uses a generous dollop of Styling Balm, works it between his hands to warm it up and then works that into his beard, following the same motion he did with the brush. Moving in the direction of the hair working it down and under.
Next, Greg uses a comb to smooth just the top layer with a beard and blend the mustache into the beard for a nice symmetrical finish.
This takes about 3 minutes on a normal day. He refreshes it in the morning and washes his mustache a couple times a day to rinse out food and drinks.

hello this is Greg Bzinski for Beard Brand and today I'm going to show you how I go from this to [Music] this so this is my beard freshly washed and conditioned which I do every other day i've let it wet i haven't even towel dried it yet it's actually sping wet uh you can see it actually tends to have a little more volume if I leave it dry like this it'll actually end up uh kind of bozo the clownonesesque uh which is not a look I'm going for uh so I want to add some control to it my beard is medium texture um I have a medium amount of medium textured hair it's not super thick um or nor are the hairs very coarse so I actually tend to like to add some product to my hair to actually make it slightly more dense slightly more coarse and so I'll use sea salt spray um Beard Brand obviously has a seed salt spray that I use and what I'll do is add some while it's still wet without towel drying it after I shake it up well I'll add a little bit of that to my beard working it in just add a little bit of texture to to my beard um so the first thing I want to do is actually um blow dry my beard and one of the reasons I blow dry it you can actually see that the chin of my beard is actually pretty straight and the sides of my beard tend to be kinky or curlier and so you'd want to um take a little bit of the curl out of the side and um on both sides and uh actually add a little wave to the front of my hair um so with the aid of a round brush this is a half inch diameter um brush um for um bought it at the drugstore um and what I'll do is I'll comb the sea salt spray through my hair the beard is fairly long at this point um you can see just in curl and combing it it actually takes out some of the curl itself so what I want to do with this brush and the aid of a haird dryer is actually kind of blow dry some of the curl out of the sides of my hair what I'm going to do is work downward with the hair dryer on a hot setting and as I get down to the bottom what I want to do is use the brush to roll it under slightly in order to coax the hair down and under so here we [Applause] go so what I'm doing is always moving downward in the direction of the hair growth um not every guy's hair also moves straight down this side of my head the hair grows straight down this side it actually grows up or off to the side so that's another reason why I want to push it down um most hair dryers have a cool button setting so what I'll do is while it's hot I use uh the motion to get it in the direction applying a little curl to the underside of it to get it to turn under and while it's still basically in that hair pattern I'll hit it with the cold so you're pushing the button hit the cold button and then that actually sets the um style that you're putting in there so let me show you that again [Music] [Music] so on the sides toward the back what I want to do is kind of roll it under so that they don't stick out i also don't want it to touch my ears so what I'll do is I'll take the brush and roll it toward the back and downward so this is more about my beard um I'm wearing my mustache down today and not in the traditional handlebar that sometimes you see me with uh so for today I'm just going to roll it slightly under and coax the curls of my handlebar into the beard so that's pretty much what I do with the hair dryer and the brush at this point um I use um styling balm some guys use the styling balm before i actually use uh I use the water in my hair plus the sea salt spray um as the moisture in it to get it to uh go into shape and then I take styling balm and work that into my hair and so probably I like a lot of product um so I'm going to take a fairly uh generous dollop some guys like a little some guys like a lot um like I said I like to add a little bit of uh texture to my hair rub it in my hands until it gets a little warm and I put it on the outside of my hair where I'm going to deposit the most product and then rub it through and rubbing it in down to the base making sure that I get the edges of it where I spent some time rolling it under onto the back also and then into my mustache so what I'll do is I'll take a comb a little bit and I comb through the top of it but I'm not wanting to comb through the whole thing so since I've actually added volume to it already and put the product in it I tend to smooth out the top of the hair and then making sure it's symmetrical so not everyone's beards are symmetrical not everyone's faces are symmetrical and so you can play with it curl one side more than the other or straighten one side more the other to get it uh into a shape and I comb my stash a little bit very natural stash today and pull the tails like I said into my beard takes me probably about um on a normal day no more than three minutes uh to do my uh beard uh I don't want to spend much more time than that than that i refresh it in the morning um I always wash my mustache i probably wash it a couple of times a day uh put a lot of product on my mustache cuz if I'm going to rinse it out I want to get uh I don't want to rinse out all the product necessarily but uh food inevitably inevitably gets in my mustache uh whether that be from drinking uh drinks uh I tend to use a straw for soft drinks or for milk or for water yes it's true i use a straw uh but for coffee I don't so I got to be careful about getting um liquids into my mustache we can talk about mustache grooming at another point i can show you how I do my handlebars uh what products you can use on on your mustache so um comment below if you have any I have a wild beard with a mind of its own spent a few years trying to straighten it with no luck i finally managed to get beard balm but it seems to only soften it thats it. So I'm gonna try your technique to see if it does the trick.

All that grooming with hair driers and curling brushes is far to metro sexual for me…and time consuming… I like my goatee for the lack of all the upkeep.
Hairspray does work but probably causes graying from free radicals whatever it is, or changes flora in some unexpected way. Odorless is main thing so sea salt spray is worth attempt. Now that I know what works I don't really bother too much but it itches less getting kinks out where it's not full on tinder hair. 7 years ago this could have been bigger suggestion help.

I wash mine when I shower.
I towel dry it and apply a fingertip of soft balm. I dont think it would be right to plug any other brands.
