Hey ladies…ever wonder how essential oils and essential oil-infused supplements can help you feel your best? The longer I work with women I understand on a deeper level how important a relaxed and calm pelvic floor is. Think about it (and better yet, tune into your pelvic floor in this moment)….are you tense and tight? Clenching? Bracing? [Music] [Music] hello a healing spot community this is Justine Calderwood physical therapist here at the healing spot and today I'm talking about essential oils for pelvic health since I see a lot of Mom's during pregnancy and afterwards as well as a lot of women that are suffering with chronic pain that are trying to feel better and enjoy life again get out in the mountains and be active and just live a more natural lifestyle without relying so much on medications and that so they're really looking for more natural ways of supporting their body and really as a wellness routine not necessarily to diagnose treat cure or prevent anything so we're talking about essential oils today you know I'm going to talk about some specific ways if you are dealing with maybe some pelvic floor dysfunction maybe you're having some pain occasional pain and or maybe you're you're pregnant currently or you've had a baby recently or even years ago and you just know that your pelvic floor isn't quite what it used to be and you're looking for some support so I'm going to go over some oils that are in this starter kit and we'll talk about this in just a little bit but some ways that you can support you know when I think of like pelvic health I also think of like an intestinal health and digestive health because if you have say your bowel syndrome things like that that that you're just you or you you're just not real regular let's let's say that that sometimes you need a little bit of help to go to the bathroom or you just want something to kind of smooth your tummy so some good oils that can be used I always use Young Living because of their seed to seal guarantee they really have the highest quality therapeutic oils so that's why I choose them for myself and for patience but some of the oils here these white labels are FDA approved to be ingested and so some some ways to support your digestive system they make a blend called DJ's it's a really good way if you need some occasional digestive support to do that so you can either put a drop in a glass of water and you want to either use a glass or aluminum you don't want to put this in plastic and then you can drink it down directly I also buy vegetable capsules just plain empty vegetable capsules and I put three drops of dye guys and I put peppermint it's really soothing to the tummy you can put that in with the carrier oil so like coconut oil or olive oil is a really good way to put that in the vegetable oil and and go ahead and take that down with some water peppermint itself it's pretty strong so one drop does go a long way I noticed even between like two eight ounce glasses one drop goes a long way but that's really soothing for the digestive system as well as a lemon okay so it's also a really great way to stay hydrated to add a little flavor to your water and to get plenty of fluid in you okay another great oil that I like to use say you are having any problems you know you'd like you just want a little bit of help sleeping a good way to do that is with lavender so getting a good night's sleep can help with your immune system can help you feel more rested and available and present as a mom and also maybe you deal with those ups and downs of some aches and pains in your body related pelvic health so lavender is a really good one to put a drop or two rub it on your feet you know back of your neck over your heart those kinds of things great way to support and help or call me another great oil I don't have in this kit is called vetiver it's very thick oil it's to me kind of like a lavender on steroids I mean it works really really well for calming and relaxing at the end of the long day I'm gonna go over this dragon time this is they actually make an essential oil called dragon time and it's kind of for the time of the month when you're feeling kind of like a dragon so using this is actually a massage oil so you can actually use this and do what they call and I love you massage so if you actually go and start on the left side and you you rub it so basically going to go eye down okay and then you kind of come across the L so you're going to come from the right side and you're gonna go across and down and then they you would be coming from your right hip coming up down and across that can help to stimulate the digestive system and keep things a little more regular can help during that time of the month when you may need a little bit more support as a woman another great oil don't have with me is called progestins plus this is one that can be used during pregnancy it uses essential oils like frankincense and bergamot and peppermint and it can be a really good oil to be used during pregnancy to help support pregnancy as well can be used over the ovaries so you want to go lower abdomen on each side can be used at the wrists because those are just the vitae flex points for the reproductive system of the female so the inner inner ankles as well as a lot of people like to use it at the wrists or even the inner I'm sorry the elbows and in the wrists I think I said inner elbows when I really met inside of the ankles all right some other things I'd love to use Clary sage this is one that I use quite regularly actually right over the ovaries again just kind of give myself a little massage when I'm feeling like I need a little bit more support as a woman I also use them like at the back of my neck do not use this one during pregnancy though so if you are pregnant don't use anything with sage Clary sage anything like that okay okay let's see peppermint also has a great use if you aren't quite regular to actually take it put a drop or two into the your toilet before you go to the bathroom and it can help to keep things a little more regular okay and I want to just add that if you are having issues with that I'm a squatty potty or even a stool when you are going to the bathroom and have a no bowel movement to actually lift your feet up a little bit that way it actually relaxes a pelvic floor a little bit you want to make sure that you're not straining so really look at maybe some of your food intake getting enough fiber things like that so it really is when we talk about using essential oils I like to use it as as an adjunct to all those other healthy things that you're doing in your regular wellness routine okay deep relief roll-on I don't have but what I also like is cool as well pain relief creams so if you are having you know some pelvic floor issues comes sometimes with clenching maybe your buttocks the inner thighs you're kind of tight and so you can just rub it along the inner thighs really right where you're needing a little bit more muscular or joint support so Kulas we will pay cool Azul pain relief cream is one of my favorite things to use for that there's other oils like in this kit there's actually panawe Ganaway and peppermint mixed together with the carrier oil you can make your own massage oil or even this or throw sport one of my other favorite things I use a lot in the clean for massaging after I do some I'll fast release work let's see trying to keep this a little shorter but the CBD so young living did partner up with nature's ultra they also have the seed to seal guarantee and I love this muscle Rob it's a joint and muscle balm and you can see it's really thick so you can just take that and again apply it where needed you know if you're feeling like you need a little bit around the ovaries the reproductive system bladder maybe a low back that can pelvic pelvic issues can really refer some discomfort to the low back okay you can use those topically as well okay let's see thinking about one thing that's part of the kit here is just really looking at your chemical use like how much how much you're using the chemical cleaners commercial cleaners and how much that might be causing some fatigue and just chemical overload in your body so really switching over to some more natural products and so one of the things in the starter kit among I didn't am I going to go over all of these oils but one of the things that it comes with is actually this also cleaner the theives cleaner the Yves is known for women a lot of germs and so in it's all plant-based and it's one of the things that I switched to probably three years ago and it's made a huge difference for me on how I feel in my body because I'm not in taking in and breathing in harsh chemicals anymore it really replaced all of the other cleaners that I use in my home so you know when we're in we have pain and things like that for a long time or we have issues going on we got a look at things as a whole okay see one less thing you might talk about just some supplements essential oils and few supplements like this FEM again there's some other great ones for female health as well but this one in particular uses wild yams as well as some amino acids and some essential oils essential oils basically acts like a little carrier like a little vehicle or truck in order to get the new into the body because the body recognizes essential oils as natural and like bioavailable basically recognizes it as natural so it definitely helps to use some supplements that are infused with essential oils some of my other favorite ones for female health specifically would be like die Roman quarter stop as well as end o joyous
