people in blue zones live to be over 100 what can we learn from them where do people live the longest and the healthiest lives in the world in the blue zones the blue zones include okanawa Japan Sardinia Italy ngoya Costa Rica aaria Greece and lomalinda California through my research I found that most people who live in the blue zones live for so long because Blue Zone diets are rich in foods that are not only nutrient dense but also beneficial for gut health like purple sweet potatoes the Okana aans eat these variety of potatoes that are not only a rich source of vitamins minerals and antioxidants but also contain a good amount of fiber which is amazing for gut health the fiber helps in digestion and provides nourishment for the gut bacteria which helps promote a healthy microbiome the aarans eat a diet loaded with olive oil which is rich in monounsaturated fats and polyphenols making it beneficial for heart and gut health but one of the most amazing things I found out was that they have such great health even though they eat Foods filled with lectin lectin are tiny plant proteins found in many foods which create holes in the gut meaning they can cause health problems but most people in blue zones know how to cook them them out for instance the sardinians consume a Dy rich in beans and legumes which contain tons of lectins so what do they do they reduce the lectin content by soaking and pressure cooking making them more gut friendly the nyans eat a d rich in lectin loaded maze which they cook in a process called nication this involves soaking and cooking the maze in an alkaline solution like lime water and then they haul them remove in most of the harmful lectin by focusing on supporting your gut health you too can help get incredible [Music] [Music] health

  17. Hey Dr Gundry, thanks for everything you do. I’m having problems with inflammation and mild pain in my tendons – particularly in my triceps and forearms. I lift weights regularly but the discomfort is making it fairly difficult. Could the pain be sugar related?
