Yoga is a great addition to your morning routine to help stretch the body and stiffness away.
Stretching the back in the mornings is important for overall health and will truly help you feel physically free throughout the day.
This 10 minute morning yoga is beginner friendly and created for general back pain.
If injury is present be sure to ask your dr if these stretches for back pain are safe for you.

welcome and good morning this is a ten minute morning yoga routine that can be done in bed or right on the mat focusing on shaking out that achy back all those achy sensations in your back muscle and the spine in the neck shoulders so you can move more freely throughout your day let's begin on our backs elbows in line with the shoulders and begin rocking the knees side to side [Music] [Music] [Music] straighten the left leg hugging the right knee towards the chest rest here or begin to draw the knee towards your armpits just pointing that knee up towards the armpit here just to open up that hip that lower back creating that space in the body [Music] [Music] and we'll release switching legs hugging that left knee towards the chest [Music] and again you can rest right here if you'd like to get a little bit of opening in the hips here you can start to draw that left knee towards the left armpit [Music] [Music] will release straightening the legs reaching the arms of overhead so really getting a good stretch here feel free to yawn I know it has that effect [Music] and we'll go ahead whenever you're ready to bend the knees plant the feet on the mat hands by your sides palms facing down on an inhale we'll begin to lift the hips for bridge pose and on an exhale releasing the hips back down towards the mat we're gonna do this a few more times continue sinking breath with movement going at your own pace here I'm just lifting the hips as high as you comfortably can we're not trying to get a deep deep backbend here just to get into the core into the back muscles a little into the spine [Music] [Music] perfect releasing the hips back down towards the mat begin hugging the knees towards the chest grabbing the outer edges of the feet maybe rocking side to side massaging the back muscles a little [Music] or if you'd like you can come right into your happy baby pose by opening the feet again option to rock side to side feeling that connection of your back pressing into the mat [Music] and we'll release come to seat it [Music] begin to find some movement in the neck maybe circulating we're rocking the head side to side maybe ear to shoulder ear to shoulder just a gentle movement here [Music] we'll come back to Center begin circulating the shoulders [Music] [Music] again finding some stillness will inhale the hands up overhead exhale drop the left hand behind your head right hand resting on that left elbow now this could be a little intense so if so just grab opposite wrists we'll sit tall here avoiding any hunching in the upper back or neck switching sides left hand to the right elbow right hand just falls just behind the head is it tall [Music] [Music] exhale release shake it out take a moment here when you're ready hands to heart center we'll interlace the fingers on an inhale flipping your palms drawing the hands up overhead we begin to draw a big circle with the palms of your hands I'm just really getting into the waist into the shoulders here in the upper back all the way through the spine so have fun here just feel the movement move like nobody's watching just you in your mat I mean back to Center take the left hand to the mat right hand reaches up overhead side stretch towards the left inhale hands overhead on the exhale side stretch to the right [Music] inhale Center exhale twisting towards the left inhale Center exhale twisting to the right back to Center inhale hands overhead exhale heart center thank you for joining namaste if you enjoyed this video don't forget to like it below subscribe to my channel and hit the bell icon so you don't miss any updates on future videos and livestreams you

I actually completed it from beginning to end it felt good some bones cracking and popping and stretching and your voice is calm the music is relaxing I feel better than I did ten minutes ago thanks for the tutorial it's like self love and mindfulness that I know I'm going to need especially working a 8 hour shift to wind down and give back to myself.

  8. So I go to this yoga class and I discovered i Luke it. Now I ain't gone lie I'm in my lazy era and in the bed my favorite place I need to break up with the bed so I will start somewhere like the bed to work my way out the bed to do other activities like house chores, prepping a meal,etc.

  9. I woke up and had the urge to start my mornings differently rather than just staying in bed so I decided why not yoga, and came across your videos. I asked my 5 year old to join me, and as I was rolling my neck it cracked 😂. She was like “mommy wow your neck just cracked that means it feels good”. Will be checking out more of your videos and will be doing this more frequently. Thank you ❤.

  20. I used to get muscle spasms so bad .years ago but my gyn had mentioned to me try to do yoga u need to move yr muscles .try to do it every day and from 3 years back have not had a muscle spasms in a long time..

  24. This is amazing! I was going to try a local class that claimed to be for beginners yoga and it was ridiculously challenging with one instructor and a bunch of the most fit looking local girls 🫤
    Also it was heated, meaning 90°in studio! Even though I run cold most of the time, I have thyroid and hormone issues and was miserable just walking in!

  34. What I love about your practice is use of silence between poses. So many instructors want to talk talk talk the whole practice/video.
    This practice is also great as it didn't require any hands/or wrist ie Downward dogs. My wrist is injured at the moment but I still like to practice some yoga. Any chance you could do some hands/wrist free videos?
