5 Minute Breathing Exercise (Guided Meditation)

This 5 minute breathing exercise is an easy to follow meditation which guides you to tune in to your breathing, letting it be natural and easy. This is for any level of breathwork experience, but especially great for beginners to simply practice what it feels like to be present with and connected to their own breath, a great way to fend off anxiety.

welcome to this five-minute breath work practice this is a practice for you to get to explore how your breath feels what it likes to do how it flows through you there's no actual specific guidance for how you are quote unquote supposed to breathe or not this is just tapping into your own inner guidance and tuning in to how your breath flows when you let it flow as freely as possible so with that in mind get into whatever posture feels best to you to help you breathe most freely trust what your body wants and needs for many this is a posture where you are seated up straight but if that's not what your body wants today trust your body and when you're ready lovingly close your eyes and begin to turn your awareness inwards tuning into your breath getting curious as you explore what it does how it flows how it feels [Music] what muscles are you engaging as you breathe in [Music] do you allow your stomach to be loose so it may expand do you feel a stretch in your rib cage and when you exhale what do you notice a sense of release warmth contraction notice what happens when you let the breath move however it wishes to move without controlling it without trying to adjust it but instead just being completely in harmony with what it wants perhaps some breaths will wish to feel very deep and rich while other breaths may wish to feel more shallow and easy let them flow however they wish to flow staying curious and observant as you watch and allow [Music] all throughout the course of this practice you just become the observer and the allower of your breath letting your breath be whatever it wants to be [Music] [Music] if at any point you find your mind wandering just return your awareness to your breath [Music] as you allow the breath to be whatever it wants to be you may even notice that sometimes you wish to exhale through your mouth versus through your nose again trust and allow without restriction giving your breath full freedom to be whatever it wishes to be i will leave you for a few moments to enjoy the liberation the springs [Music] now on your next breath in allow yourself to breathe in extra deeply stomach and rib cage fully expanding holding your breath momentarily when you reach the top and whenever you're ready exhale with a sigh and at the bottom of that breath return to whatever pace feels good to you as you feel thankful to yourself for doing this thankful to your breath for its nourishment and when you're ready you begin to wiggle your fingers and toes roll your shoulders nice and gently and open your eyes back to the world around you you
