soo i exhale while i sit up/crunch up ? i cant seem to breathe at all while doing core workouts

I always lose my hold in core exercises when I’m trying to breathe. I can get the most muscle activation and burnout if I breathe all the way out and hold it like that, but I need air at some point 😂 don’t know what to do there. Are shallow breaths the best to use when doing core exercises?

I still can’t do it it so hard for me, when i exhale i tried to engage it as much as i can but i think im still doming(i have a little fat on my belly im skinny fat so it look like doming)
