welcome to a guided meditation for stress and anxiety relief on the clutter of the mind let's start here by finding a comfortable seat and sitting with our backs upright and just soften any unnecessary tension around your shoulders or jaw and you can also scan your attention down the body finding any points of tension and softening and releasing these points bringing some relaxation to your body and now gently close your eyes and just start here with some breaths breathing deeply through your nose and then out through your mouth for the next few moments and now allow your body to breathe on its own and while there's many ways to anchor our attention such as on sounds or sensations in the body we're going to anchor our attention on the breath and the body breathing on its own so simply notice where the breath is easiest to detect and where the breath feels pleasant or at least neutral and so you may notice the breath and how it feels and flows in and out of your nose you might feel the touch of air around your nostrils or upper lip maybe you notice the movement of your chest with each inhale and exhale or the rise and fall around the abdomen just take a moment here to bring your attention to these sensations or breathing in one of these areas a relaxed attentiveness of the breath there's no need to control the breath here rather we are receiving the breath like you'd listen to a sound and with this relaxed awareness see if you can discover what the breath is really like as a changing experience of sensations this is our anchor our place where we can rest and be aware whenever we are feeling anxious and for the next few moments relax as the breath comes in notice what it's like and then relax with the exhale and now notice where your attention is you might find that your mind has drifted off into thoughts and just know that this is completely natural the mind is conditioned to think about the future and the past and so whenever you become aware of thinking just make a soft and friendly mental note such as saying thinking and then gently returning your attention back to the breath and again as you watch the breath when you notice the mind is lost in thought without any judgment gently return again to the breath to the inflow and outflow of the breath let the breath be an intimate friend a place where you can reconnect with your presence and as you watch the breath with an open awareness notice other experiences around the breath background sounds the temperature of the room and without taking any attention away from the breath just noticing whatever's in the background noticing without getting caught up in it or losing our awareness of the breath for the next few moments and as you continue to receive the breath in your awareness remember that thoughts are not the enemy you don't have to clear the mind of anxious thoughts to be relieved of them rather you are building the capacity to recognize when thoughts are happening without getting caught up in them or lost in the story we tell ourselves about them so that every time you are lost in a thought or lost in anxiety it's an opportunity to strengthen your muscle of remembering to come back to being present and so as the mind becomes quieter you might sense that peace that arises when you relax even more and now for just the last few moments of the practice let go allow the mind to go where it wants for the next few moments and now open your eyes and notice how you feel thanks for sitting and i'll see you next time thanks again for taking the time to practice if you've enjoyed this practice please be sure to like and subscribe you can also join and become a member and receive access to courses and more head on over to declutterthethemind.com for more and download our free ios and android app

  1. I pray anyone who's watching this is absolved of stress , God bless you 🎉

  2. I experienced with this meditation this morning something new in that my mind became so calm that I felt a complete absence of worry; and my mind did not want to go anywhere but remained still and quiet at the end of the meditation. Tremendous change from how I was feeling when I awoke this morning.
I love the help your meditations give me every day. With gratitude and best wishes, ADB,MD

  3. What an amazing morning today is turning out to be! First of all, i am trying to meditate and your voice is doubling over at times! Yes, my mind wanders! Why worry? I am not my thoughts telling me I am a worrier, even worse feeling like a worrier! Who is it that is labeling me a worrier? I am right now not worried, so why label me a worrier? Who has the right to label me a worrier? Yes, I feel safe and in control! I am going to sign off right now….sorry you are still speaking. Have yourself a safe and wonderful weekend! Thanks again. ADB,MD

  4. I am now making an effort to describe in the most simple way the successes of my meditations this morning. These comments are made here because this is the 3rd meditation that just came up without me making any effort to select any meditation. I began my meditations this morning seated on my couch because I have found that this the most comfortable and relaxing place for me to be seated. Before meditating this morning I awoke with thoughts out of my past and realized I was not focused on this day. I then set out to do a morning meditation to start the day on the right footing. Next, I went to have breakfast with my wife and realized that the tension and muscle pain in my shoulders was taking a hold on my awareness, but really no fault of anyone. Back to meditating, I found the best and most relaxing state and ease of mind that I could wish for. I don't know if this means something or helps anyone else, but believe me, it is true and I'm glad to share it. ADB,MD

  5. That was amazing, thank you! ❤

  6. At this moment, I realize that for me to experience again being present in the moment and fully awake and aware and detached of making any
particular effort I need to relax and let go of awareness of the "self" such as focusing on the sounds of breathing outside myself or just something outside "myself". To lose or let go of The Self is to let go of any effort and become relaxed.ADB,MD

  7. I believe that the more you relax the more likely and more often you can feel Peace of Mind. If you are like me, there is great satisfaction to be able to do this. Best Wishes and Good Luck. ADB,MD

  8. It is evening now, and I finished this Meditation just now because today I have undergone a bunch of stressful events, including one just before choosing to do this Meditation. I hope you find some interest on the comments which follow: I read in the comment 4 weeks ago that when I let my
mind go to where it wanted, it wanted to go to relaxation. What seems interesting to me, is that the same result occurred tonight with this same Meditation. I found tonights meditation very helpful and encouraging to understand how my mind wants to find relaxation. It is a great piece of luck
that my mind wants to be relaxed and that I can find relaxation with some of your Meditations. Merci, Merci Beaucoup. ADB

  9. This morning I realized somewhat calmly that I was developing anxiety, under some stress, so I turned to this stress and anxiety meditation, and I am writing to you, gratefully, to express my reactions to the anxiety relief which really happened without any serious effort. I was very impressed with your timing during the meditation to say just the right thing during the whole process! When at the end you say just let the mind go where it wants, my mind goes to relaxation! I could write other observations, but I am not going to take up more of your time. Hope you enjoy these comments!

  10. This was simply amazing

  11. Thanks for making this video and sharing it. ♥

  12. I'm using this meditation as a sleep aid which is asking a lot from it. However, I do feel a relief from the stress and anxieties I feel with my wife's thinking and behaviors towards me. It is almost midnight and I do not feel sleepy and do feel worried about being able to sleep in spite of powerful
medication. Where can I find a meditation to use before going to bed, while still sitting in front of my computer in a room that is not my bedroom?

  13. Hi
I am an Iranian migrant woman discovering my hidden talent late in life, who wrote my first book at the age of 53. The book is now listed on Amazon, with great help from a kind translator and an editor. My “Migrating Birds” book is true short stories of 12 Iranian migrant women, including myself. I need, hopefully, to be seen by people like you to prove myself as a woman who has struggled a lot to be myself.
    Best regards
    Farzaneh Mohseni

  14. Great video thanks so much. I have speech anxiety when I’m on the phone in work and I get so anxious of others listening yet when I’m alone, I’m fine – any tips please because I’m so aware of others around me listening which makes my speech juttery. Thanks

  15. Not only did I relax but I have learned several things from you. Thank you for the beautiful meditation. I feel good. 🐝🌺
