Whether you’re looking for tips to lose weight fast because of an upcoming event like a vacation or a wedding, or whether it’s for health needs, you should make sure the steps you take are sustainable over the long term. That’s EXACTLY what I’m going to show you in this video.

hey there my friend welcome my name is dr anthony balduzzi i'm the founder here at the fit father project and in today's video we're going to talk about an incredibly important concept how to lose weight fast as a guy and my team here at the fit father project and i have helped over 10 000 fathers lose over 75 000 pounds of fat and these are some of our actual program members and clients so we know a thing or two about weight loss my promise to you is in this video we're going to cover the six foundational steps that we use with our clients to produce the results you've seen so you can number one of the six steps of losing weight fast for guys we need to talk about the concept of losing weight fast in general we're at a point where we want to really get the weight off fast maybe we have a reunion coming up or summer's around the corner or we just want to see really fast results so we need to make sure though that the strategies we use both produce those fast results but also are sustainable over the long term because the worst thing we can do is follow some super restrictive crash diet where we lose 10 15 pounds in a couple weeks and then we stop because the plan is not sustainable and we put all the weight back on that's a total waste of time it's counterproductive and it can actually damage your metabolism making it harder for you to lose weight in the future so we need to balance between producing really fast short-term results and also making it sustainable over the long term and these are the habits we're going to cover in this video that are really going to help now the first place that guys turn to when they think about losing weight fast is either it's a diet or exercise but it turns out that's the wrong place to start step number one if you want to lose weight fast the number one thing you can do is to get more sleep most guys don't realize how essential sleep is for weight loss and fat loss and what the research actually shows is that if you follow a weight loss diet or do some weight loss workouts and you're not sleeping enough you do lose weight but the weight you lose comes from muscle not fat and that's the worst thing that can happen because when you lose muscle mass your metabolism actually decreases and it makes it harder to lose weight and easier to gain weight so we need to make sure you're getting at least seven hours of quality sleep if your goal is to lose weight fast it's a necessity before we can even begin to talk about the diet and the extra stuff in the next coming steps so do a little sleep on it right now you want to lose weight fast are you sleeping enough what could you do right now to improve the quality of your sleep not just the number of hours but the quality are there changes you can make with your technology could you get the phone or the computer off earlier in the night could you set a better routine with the evening routine morning routine this stuff is important because the sleep allows your body to actually release the weight and it maintains your hunger levels when we miss sleep our appetite circuits get all haywire and we actually crave more food and are hungrier the next day not good so that's step number one step number two is start with what we call the four by four meal timing the biggest thing when it comes to weight loss besides sleep is your nutrition plan healthy eating is far more important than working out when it comes to losing weight fast period that's what the research shows weight loss starts in the kitchen so we want to lose weight fast we got to find out a way to be on a simple and sustainable meal plan that still produces fat fast results so we have a concept we teach here um called the 4×4 meal plan and what that means is that i want you to have a healthy meal and we're going to talk about what that meal consists of roughly every four hours and that's the proper balance of having enough food so that you feel full and energized but you're still able to control your calories so practically speaking what this might look like is you might have your first meal breakfast sometime around 8 a.m you'll have lunch around noon four hours later you'll have a snack sometime around 3 30 you know roughly four hours there and then you'll have dinner sometimes around 7 7 30. so it's not exact science and like every four hours on the dot but roughly every three to four hours you're having a meal in meal timing is just as important as the kinds of foods you eat because i want you to be on a structured meal schedule that you know this is what i'm eating and you don't fall prey to mindless snacking and other things so we want structured meals throughout the day now what should you have in these meals if your goal is to lose weight fast well we have a concept here that we also teach at the fit father project called perfect plates and this is a really really easy way to make sure that your meals have the right kinds of proteins carbs veggies and fats without you needing to count every calorie that goes into your mouth so a perfect plate is basically this half of your plate anytime you have one of these four by four meals is filled with some kind of veggie you love a salad some broccoli asparagus anything green fill half your plate with green stuff fill a quarter of your plate with some kind of protein you love whether that's chicken turkey some kind of fish grass-fed steak a quarter's protein and then a quarter the final quarter is healthy carbs you know things like some kind of rice or a sweet potato or some kind of pasta something that you like that's a healthy carb this is a way using this perfect plate framework to allow yourself to have the proper number of calories because when you follow this portion rule your calories kind of take care of themselves and without feeling super restrictive so it's not like your goal of losing weight fast means you can never have carbs ever again you can you just need the right kinds of carbs at the right time so that's what's one thing this perfect plate allows you to do so having perfect plates at the 8 a.m noon the 3 30 and then the dinner point is a really easy way thing is we want to drink more water water is great when it comes to losing weight fast because it helps keep us full and energized water when we drink a lot of it actually helps our stomachs not feel so hungry there's actually the stretching sensation of drinking a lot of water signals to our brain that's like hey we're full no need to have food cravings additionally water helps increase your energy levels and that can help you stick on a healthy diet so what i want you to do as a habit is to get a big water bottle a 32 ounce minimum if not bigger like a 64-ounce mason jar works too and in the morning fill that up with some water you can squeeze some fresh lemon in there or if you like teas brew a big thing of green tea which green tea as we're going to cover later in this uh this video is one of the proven fat loss supplements on that will help you lose weight fast but brew tea or get a big water container and carry that with you throughout the day because the biggest thing is we all know we need to drink more water but if we don't have a water bottle with us at all times practically speaking we're going to forget we're just going to be into what we're doing we're not going to drink we're going to get thirsty but i don't want to get up get the water if the water's sitting on your desk or in your car or you're carrying with you you will drink more water that will help you lose more weight fast next thing we're going to do 30 minutes of daily activity and i very intentionally wrote daily activity not formal workouts there's a difference when it comes to losing weight fast what the research shows is that good sleep a proper meal plan lots of hydration and daily activity is all we need to really see a lot of weight loss results you do not need to spend hours in the gym exercising exercise formal workouts like cardio or weight training can accelerate your results but it's not necessary what is necessary is 30 minutes of daily activity now this means that you're either getting out in the morning you're doing a walk you're getting on your lunch break you're doing a walk you're just moving for 30 minutes every day and it's not about the calories yes movement does help burn some calories the 30 minute walk will burn some calories more importantly what movement does is actually helps regulate your brain's appetite circuits when we don't hit this minimum activity threshold of roughly 30 minutes per day of activity our brain's hunger and appetite circuits kind of get haywired and we feel hungry all the time same thing happens when we miss sleep so this is our way of making sure that the healthy diet that we're following and the good hydration is not leaving us feeling starving all the time the daily activity helps us hit that so schedule in your daily activity when is it going to work for you are you able to walk in the morning can you keep a step counter on your phone using the pedometer or a pedometer watch one of those smart watches and track your steps a good target is a minimum of 7 000 steps is a great target to make sure you're getting the 30 minutes plus of daily activity that's more important than the actual formal workouts so these things are progressive i wrote these in such a way that you need to do number one before you get down to number four but start thinking about how you can implement these things in your routine as we go through this video so next thing is once we have the sleep the hydration the good diet and the 30 minutes of daily activity we come to number five three to four metabolic resistance training mrt workouts per week and what this basically means these are our formal workouts and the best way when it comes to exercise to lose weight fast is to combine strength training with cardio because they're both incredibly effective strength training helps build the muscle boost your metabolism cardio burns a lot of calories and can also boost your metabolism so instead of trying to do these things separately you're probably a busy guy like me we slap them together into one time efficient workout and so metabolic resistance training workouts what they look like is we take some of the best strength training exercises things like squats shoulder presses rows push-ups deadlifts and we combine them in a circuit so you're doing these with very low rest and the good news is here at the fit workout that's what i recommend you schedule in three to four times per week and that's different than the daily activity please make that distinction i need you walking for at least 30 minutes per day and then schedule these in three to four times per week and make them like meetings a lot of our guys that get the best results what they do is they get the sleep they set themselves off on the meal plan they schedule in that daily activity block a morning or afternoon walk and they schedule in three metabolic resistance training workouts per week monday wednesday friday space them out because each time you do one of these workouts you get a metabolic boost and then you get another one later in the week so what that means your metabolism is constantly elevated throughout the week when you space these metabolic resistance training workouts out throughout the week so once you have all those things in place we can go to the final aspect which is smart supplementation there are you know the supplement industry is full of so much garbage it's like a hundred billion dollar industry you know it might even be bigger by the time i shoot in this video but i think that's the old stat that i remember reading i mean because of that and because so many of us want to lose weight and live healthier there are so many gimmicky bs products out there that just don't work um and so nine times out of ten all these weight loss products are scams but there are some good things that actually can help in our research proven help with weight loss and the one thing that i want to talk about or two things that i would recommend you look into and start with is the first thing is actually black coffee black coffee is one of the best weight loss supplements it has caffeic acid which can actually help with weight loss in it and it also has caffeine which is phenomenally effective for helping increase your metabolic rate curbing your hunger increasing your energy levels so black coffee is a great weight loss tool if you're already drinking coffee that's great keep on doing that if your goal is to lose weight fast what i would also recommend though is you make sure you're not putting crap in your coffee coffee's not bad for you what happens is when we throw creams and sugars and milk and all this other crap in our coffee then that coffee is going to hinder your weight loss morning you know like a 64-ounce bottle i do it all the time and carry that throughout your day and drink that that's going to help not only boost your fat burning but help you hit your hydration target because the tea counts towards your water target so that's a really really great thing to look into finally although it's not a direct weight loss supplement taking a very good high quality multivitamin with some fish oil and vitamin d can really help your weight loss efforts because weight loss is such a complex process that involves millions of different enzymatic reactions so it's not just that we need to focus on the things that directly work on the weight loss like the green tea and the black coffee but we want to make sure your body and all those just your general functioning is is working really well and a full spectrum multivitamin multimineral with the fish oil and vitamin d3 is a great place to really just cover all your nutrition bases and if you go to our fit follower I have tried for years to lose weight and it just will not come off. It lose weight on the scale but not in the mirror. I can cut 20/30lbs at the snap of a finger. Once I reach that point I can’t seem to go past it.
On my comment I do want to add that I started my weight loss journey doing a 8 Day Water Fast. Also during my Intermittent Water Fasting, I did a 4 Day and a 5 Day Water Fast during this time of 4 months. Weight dropped real fast "60 lbs." and energy went thru the roof. Intermittent Water Fasting w/a Low to No Carb High Protein Meals.👍
At 60 yrs old & 6'-0", I went from 250 lbs. 5/1/2023 down to 190 lbs. 8/25/2023 doing strict Intermittent Water Fasting and Low to No Carb/High Protein Meals. The old Atkins Ketosis Plan. I have only drank water since May 1st and a lot of it. Flushes your body out real fast. I do take a multi-vitamin everyday w/a Gatorade Zero for all my nutrients. Lost 60 lbs. in almost 4 months. My goal?? Get down to around 180-183 lbs. and start hitting the weights at the gym to add muscle & tone only. I lost about 20% muscle from the 60 lb. weight loss, about 12 lbs. Gonna get that muscle back.
Do we need this 7 hours sleep in one stretch..or can it be 6 hours at night and 1hour in day time ?
I'm down 20 lbs in a little over 2 months. Weight training or HIIT training in morning. Keto meals, fatty breakfast with whey protein shake, salad with meat in it for lunch or a half rotersiee chicken and just a snack for dinner like a bananas etc. The reason I started is the Dad thing. We had a baby boy 10 YEARS after our first girl. He is a crazy guy and I can't keep up since he is about 7 now! Lol I was able to squat down and hold that squat for over 2 min talking to him the other day with no issues. It felt amazing! So I am gonna do this till I'm down to 20% body fat or lower. Starting weight 335lbs, current weight 316lbs. Goal weight 200lbs

One thing I'd add is the insidious use of beverages that tack on calories that are often not considered, including sports drinks, juice, and coffees with added cream and sugar. These sort of drinks, especially bottled drinks, are huge in adding unnecessary calories, often because they include caffeine, which people make part of their waking up habit.
Struggling right now. I gained back muscle but weight usually melts off. I'm inky down 10lbs in 4 weeks. Usually I'd be Bout 25 down. Any tips? Went down to 1500 calories a day. Burning between 3 and 5k a day. Active and hiit cardio 3 days a week.

Every 4 hours? Yikes. What year was this released. I thought this was wildly debunked. No wonder I can't lose weight. I swear I wanted to just stop eating 100 pounds 15 years ago but everywhere I turned said no, eat constantly and my lord this made no sense to me. My simplistic mindset could not shake the idea that fasting should be my focus. I have suffered, lost jobs, lost girlfriends, confidence, finally in the last year out comes the truth, not just fast but real fasts, extended fasts. I did not realize however how difficult it is just to remember not to eat, lol, but it's happening, after a few failed starts I have a team now and I'm going to execute this in such a way that doesn't leave me with anymore dead skin than necessary. This is nonsense I'm 38. 5' 8" and got up to 205 pounds. I look really good and fit with decent muscle mass and can see my abs at 165 and 170. So so putting on 30 to 35 pounds of fat makes me look like I'm pregnant. I went on a strict 1500 calorie diet without working out and lost the weight no problems in 2.5 months
