What's the best tea
to drink on a daily basis? [speaks in Greek] [in English] Wine. – [all laughing]
– [Dan] I like the way you roll. I have found that most of what
people think leads to a long, healthy life is misguided or just plain wrong. What if we could
reverse engineer longevity? I spent the last 20 years
trying to do just that. [exciting music playing] Is it okay if I… – Ah.
– [all laughing] [Dan] Instead of looking
for answers in test tubes, I found five places
around the world called Blue Zones where people are living to 100
at the highest rates in the world. – What is the secret to living a long time?
– [woman] Community. If you're depressed,
you're not going to live very long. [man] So, the steepness
for us is very important. Just by walking,
you have an additional energy expenditure. Do we want to be dormant,
or do we want to serve humanity? [laughs] [Dan] These people live to 100
at the highest rates in the world. And these secrets
could help every one of us to get every good year
we can get out of this body of ours. [laughs] That is the promise of Blue Zones.

Turns out a lot of this data in this blue zone was falsified
Esse documentário é ótimo
The Blue Zone in Costa Rica might dissapear from Nicoya because of gentrification.
My grandmother was 96 when she died all her sisters and brothers live 100+.
Excellent show. Ideas he presents make a lot of sense. A lot of basic common sense. Good healthy food, activity, good social interaction, positive outlook. My grandmother lived to 104. She never ate in a restaurant and never ate from a can. Just always fresh, home cooked, healthy meals. In the 40s, doctors told her she needed her gall bladder removed. Refused to do that, just ate lighter. Lived to 104. Also, and probably a big factor…super big heart. Just filled, head to toe with caring. Also, by the way, not only did she cook everything herself, from scratch, an amazing cook – her food was out of this world.
Wishing everyone a healthy, long life!
So – when I get treated to Morton’s i make everything vegetarian – I get the brisket tacos leave as is but replace the brisket with veggies and asparagus and part of the loaded baked potato w/o the bacon. Delicious.
The falafel wrap with sriracha at Starbucks. Mmmm.
So I got a total kick out of this doc. Anyone who is seeking a better lifestyle should watch this – a total testament to conscious consumerism and manufacturing. My diet is totally blue zone.
Americans would call these people nasty and eat everything. They would say you can’t get me to eat that or stupid things like that’s how covid started. When they’re diabetic, disease this and that ass can’t even read the ingredients they eat.
Please can any say the content in video and the book are same
We have been so contaminated I wonder how hard it is to reverse the effects of where we live and eat now
I just finished watching this and remembered I own a first edition of Dan's "Blue Zones" published in 2008. This gorgeous film pays tribute to his book with people & geography I had only imagined since first reading it. Bravo Dan for bringing your book to us again in this visual bath of beauty and delight. God bless you.
can anyone summarise who watched this series in few lines
nice docu
Love this!
Has no one noticed that all these centenarians have a common physical trait? They are all small and tiny. You will not find a Shaq among them. It is their genetics and of course a healthy lifestyle that have given them longevity. Agree?
Don’t be fooled by this dumbass propaganda. In 4 out of the 5 blue zones most of their traditional dishes contain meat. Their celebratory dishes are all meat dishes.
Reaching older age is mostly genetic. However, you should live as healthy as possible anyway. Exercise, healthy diet, positive attitude can help greatly to provide more healthy and active senior years. Depression is bad. Think positive.
great
Watched this and was wondering why Costa Ricans are raising cattle it they are not eating it?
Great documentary. Would have loved more of the science but I did go to their website and learned more details.
Sorry, but I just don't want to live that long because, even if you're relatively healthy, you're still old, and like it or not, the reality is that, in one way or another, you'll be subject to all of the limitations that go along with that.

God 🙏🏼

Mi Granny just turned 98 – I think these generations just had just a much more natural life, fresh food and a bigger community – not the "always more" mentality many have today. Being happy with less is something that wasnt mentioned enough in the documentary.
Great documentary and brilliant storytelling but I have one question stuck in my mind and that is when we are shown different cemeteries where graves were more than 100 years old but how all the centenarians died in the end like what was the cause of deaths after living a healthy life for this long.
I have committed to do the blue diet for the remainder of my life. Whole food. Plant based.
Meat less than 5 times a month.
My grandma was born in 1916 and died 104 years later, in 2020! She was rather negative about life, but she ticked all the other boxes, and I loved her dearly. Te quiero, abuela!
This documentary is Bullcrap!
Stupid Netflix vegans promoting veganism.
How in the world can you go to Sardinia or Greece and not mention about fish, pork or MOZARELLA!!! Also other lots of dairy products!
They are a BIG part of the diet in those zones!
Don’t watch this documentaries like this if you want to live 100 years! 🙃
everywhere i see lifestyle lifestyle lifestyle
today lifestyle is biggest killer, this the truth
how science fools people to make money
secret of long life is lifestyle
secret of short life is lifestyle
Y'all behind this beautiful docu are talking trash. Come to Nigeria and numerous African and Caribbean countries and see people living above 125yrs and y'all didn't include any African country in d blue zones.
Your narrative is beautifully biased.
Quote me mates!
This is basically the book called Ikigai
I watched last night with my mother who is 82 yrs old in the Philippines.
Bs netflix propaganda
My grandmother lived til 100 years and died in 2020 (not from Covid)! My great grandmother lived to be 115 years and died of natural causes!
They both died in their sleep. My mom is 80 years and very vibrant still!
Seriously get this man's Cook books each recipe is both tasty and healthy
