hey it's michelle cam bolas with this week's mine matters and today we're gonna float our way to mine body health [Music] floating is an experience unlike anything else it's been used to treat everything from stress to athletic recovery it's even been found to help people reach meditative states that have taken the most dedicated of Yogi's years to achieve really you're floating in about 10 inches of water that's saturated with epsom salts so a thousand pounds of Epsom salt in the water the water is heated to the skin temperature so the idea is you sort of lose a sense of where your body ends the water begins so sense of touch disappears a full experience comes when the music fades out so now you're floating in silence just the sound of your own heart beating okay so what are some of the reasons why someone might choose to float tell me a little bit about the benefits so I mean right away you're you know dropping into that relaxed state so the parasympathetic nervous system engages all those stress hormones kind of flushed out of your body so right away you're held that's supported and relaxed so I'm stress reduction is a big one for sure and then when you're in that relaxed state you drop into this beautiful sort of creative place at that sort of place between waking and sleeping where we just visit on our way out in the morning or in our way that is to sleep at night we're sort of both hemispheres of the brain are activated and you've got access to that beautiful sort of creative place so a lot of people do come in here for a sort of inspiration or to sort of look at things from a new perspective so that's wonderful sounds amazing and incredibly relaxing what are some of the other reasons why a typical client might be coming in to have a float right so I mean the benefits for pain relief are extraordinary so we have a sleet's who come in for recovery we also have people who suffer from fibromyalgia there's some wonderful research that's being done that's showing a tremendous benefit for that anxiety stress reduction in general so a host of benefits really
