Overcoming autoimmune disease with food

it's a condition affecting more than 20 million Americans we're talking about chronic autoimmune disease and for many patients they feel their only choice is to turn to medications but we're gonna meet a lady who has found her cure and she found it in the kitchen joining us now in the morning show me Tracy McCormick author of a new book about overcoming her condition with food hey welcome good to have you here or just to simplify things we're gonna talk about three things you should include and three things you should exclude so where do you want to start right first of all the three things we should include are leafy greens which kale it's my favorite miso and kale because it's full of vitamin A K it's anti-inflammatory it's full of antioxidants and so when making a salad it's like let's bring our salad to a higher level of nutrition so we're eating with a purpose and then the next ingredient is miso and miso is eating a fermented food so it's a probiotic that you eat which introduces that healthy culture to the digestive tract in an organic manner meaning this is the way we're meant to absorb nutrition and probiotics and the third thing I'm a little surprised at pumpkin seeds raw pumpkin seeds because they well first of all they're powerfully packed with goodness and they're also alkaline so when the body is alkaline the body can fight infection and they're also great for cleaning out the digestive tract and keeping parasites and worms and you suggest as opposed to the iceberg because icebergs like wasted calories the darker the deeper the green yeah well I think well I think iceberg is okay because it has a lot of water in it but the thing about kale is that it has more calcium per calorie than milk so you're getting a ton of calcium especially if you're doing one of the foods to avoid which was dairy and so the thing with avoiding food is you have to pay attention to what your excess is because everybody has a different excess alright let's go ahead and make this little dressing here okay so I've got my probiotic miso paste and you're gonna dilute that because you don't want it to be clumpy and I'm using orange juice which is packed with vitamin C so you're getting vitamin C you're getting a little sugar and you know people do process it okay me so I don't remember seeing it on you know the spice aisle or wherever where do you find me so you find me so in the refrigerated section of a Whole Foods or a natural foods market and where you can order it online and you can get soy-free me so it's chickpea if you're having soy issues or you have soy allergies this is one of the key elements like when you get miso soup when you go to a and it makes it a little salty a little creamy a little yummy and then we're gonna add a little honey and I like to use local honey when I can because it helps boost the immune system and dealing with you know local allergies so yeah your a little bit of honey in there and you're just this is so simple and you see your orange juice is your acid so whenever you make a dressing you always have part acid part part oil and then olive oil and you just mix it in and you whisk it and there you have a great dressing and you always want to chop your kale bite-size okay as we go ahead and assemble this and do some TV magic here the three foods to avoid are well the three foods to avoid our sugar cuz it's highly inflammatory and it weakens the immune system the next food to be mindful of is dairy because it creates a lot of mucus in the digestive tract and that's where your villi are that absorb the nutrition so you don't want em covered in mucus and processed foods because that sends your immune system into alert because it's fighting these ingredients that aren't natural and it knows so if weakens the immune system and then there's the processed foods so the book is called my kitchen cure best place to get it Amazon is on.com there you go you can check it out on amazon.com but three foods you should include the three you should exclude you get more information as well by visiting Aard a.org me thanks for being here appreciate it thank you

  1. This is theopposite of what we should eat.

  2. This is the most ridiculous video I've ever seen and this station did a disservice to the community by letting this charlatan get air time. First you don't cure an autoimmune disease, you try and reduce the symptoms. Second there's no such disease as chronic autoimmune disease. Third all the food she told everyone to include, are foods you would want to avoid with autoimmunity. MISO is very high in histamine and will promote system inflammatory compounds. And pumpkin seeds are known to directly cause GI inflammation. I love how she keeps saying "boost the immune system" showing that she has absolutely no idea how autoimmune diseases function. Boo this woman yall!

  11. Most dairy, fruit, veggies, and grains are highly inflammatory for most people. I did not notice until I got into my late 30s and had to quit them. Low glycemic fruit, veggies, and grains are very few and a boring diet but I manage. Even guar gum and soy lecithin are very bad and the reason I can't do 90% of processed food even if I wanted too. Carnivore is the only thing I have heard that actually works that will make autoimmune symptoms go completely away. Carnivore until symptoms go away. Keto and extremely low glycemic foods and do away with highly inflammatory foods in between rounds of Carnivore.

  12. "It helps boos tthe immune system…" She lost my respect right there! People with Autoimmune Disease have an overactive immune system…you need to calm it down!! NOT "boost" it! No garlic, spirulina, ginseng, chlorella, for instance…exactly for that reason.

  13. Everyone can't eat green leaf veggies due to high vitamin k foods that cause blood clots.

  14. She already put in a lot of sugar by honey and orange juice! Lol!

  15. Don't forget you haven't tried herbs on curing HSV 2, I used Dr Aluda natural herbs on YouTube to cured my HSV 2, I highly recommend him and a trial will convince you.✅✅

  16. If your access is calcium, don’t eat kale

The carnivore diet will eliminate all of this

  17. Once damage caused by autoimmune, it is impossible to reverse it, right? For example, type-1 diabetes.

  18. There are no calories in iceberg lettuce. But it is not nutrient rich.

  19. some of these ingredients are REALLY bad for people with crohn's … or ulcerative colitis … or any other autoimmune disease … of which there are more than a hundred …

  20. you used orange juice and honey and foods to avoid #1 was sugar do your research

  21. am here to appreciate DR EHBOS for using his herbal medicine to cure my Herpes virus. Contact him on YouTube Channel🪴🪴

  22. No miso! Except the one made out of rice only. About fermented foods, each person is different. Best is to seek the guidance of a doctor in Functional Medicine who will design and adapt your diet according to your evolution. (At the beginning, i couldn't even have raw foods) Good courage everyone! <3

  23. If you have diverticulitis, pumpkin seeds or any seeds are not a good idea. Know your body and what works and doesn't work. Also lean protein and eggs are great for health.

  24. Can I replace dairy with say almond or coconut milk?

  25. So you add high sweeteners like honey and orange juice so you get diabetes… 🤨

  26. She is bang on target…just include millets and this becomes wholsome diet..

  27. This is Great but if you have an auto Immune disease and it effects your digestive system tremendously. These are all things that I can't eat because I can't digest them!

  28. I eat kale every day if I can, and I have eaten pumpkin seeds all my life. I often wondered why I rarely get illnesses, in fact, I refused the shingle shot, got shingles a year ago, and it was an itchy rash that lasted a few days. It pinched a bit, but was totally not a big deal. The best seeds won't grow in pathetic soil, so starting from a healthy basic diet can work wonders. I have three bags of pumpkin seeds in a canister, as my backup. Now, I am trying to increase nitric oxide, and doing beets, but read that KALE, AND SPINACH help increase, and prolong the effects, MORE than just beets. I love learning, so keep up the valuable videos.

  29. She’s been listing to dr sebi 😉

  30. Do pumpkin seeds work on animals for getting rid of parasites and worms?

  31. Also to avoid the main culprits: ALL grains, eggs, legumes (leptins) and peanuts.

  32. Lol! Honey is full of sugar! A must to avoid in autoimmune conditions.

  33. Dr Eric berg…. Nobody gives much more sensible health information than him…👏🏽👏🏽

  34. Also to avoid: wheat, barley and other gluten containing cereals. Many ancient grains, naturally gluten free have come back on the market, like buckwheat and millets. But stay away from some "gluten free" labels which hide other undesirable elements, like corn, soy and starches. Lectins may be trouble makers, depending on the quantity and on the condition of your gut is in. For some people, even glut-free oats cause inflammation. It all seems complicated, but the bottom line is: stick to what nature has made by itself, before man started massing it up for commercial reasons. For instance nowadays wheat is a genetic freak, extremely hard to digest; and in nature we wouldn't have access to such amounts of grains and seeds.
People often ask me: After all, what DO you eat? Answer: Like a Japanese: Fruits, Vegetables, fish, a bit of healthy grains and spices, all organic. And it's delicious! i promisse you; after getting used to it, you will never want to go back to previous diet. Good courage and good recovery to everybody : )))

  35. Nowadays it hard to get a real cure for herpes simplex virus all thanks to Dr. kwaloe on you tube for making it possible. I am now done battling with the contagious virus after months of lamenting

  36. Avoids sugar…then she puts in orange juice and honey 😂
