Red Light Therapy Benefits – Does it Really Work?
Red light therapy is a process that uses light to improve the function of the body. This type of therapy has been shown to have many benefits, including improved skin health, muscle function, and bone health. The results from red light therapy are often very impressive and can be seen in just a few weeks. However, this therapy offers benefits beyond just skin health. This video provides an in-depth look at all the potential benefits of red light and near infrared therapy.

in this video we're going to look at why light therapy has been utilized for thousands of years for its therapeutic effects I'm going to explain why already new infrared light in particular has received a whole lot of scientific attention in the past few decades and how it's being used in specialized LED light panels such as these to impart incredible health benefits just a quick disclaimer all the information on this channel is academically sourced but is meant for educational purposes only so please don't use it to treat or diagnose in existing or pre-existing health conditions always consult with your health care provider first with that out the way let's begin red light therapy also known in the past as low-level light therapy and nowadays as photobiomodulation has been researched for more than 50 years and thousands of academic studies have proved its diverse range of therapeutic effects however lots of photo therapy using natural sunlight has actually been around for thousands of years the ancient Egyptians called it Helio therapy Hippocrates the famous ancient Greek physician was known to prescribe frequent light exposure to depressed patients he believed that the Greeks were happier and more optimistic than the more Northern European populations due to the high exposure to light from the Sun and he was right modern-day scientists have simply isolated the specific light frequencies that have healing properties the red and near-infrared light used in photobiomodulation is just a band of light frequencies within the broad spectrum of life of the Sun emits we can identify these frequencies most clearly at sunrise and sunset by the reddish color of the sky at these times later in this video I'll explain the reasons for which votes bar modulation researchers have isolated these frequencies and what companies are not producing red light therapy devices for home use such as these ones here now to get a good grasp of la terre P we need to first understand basic human energy production let me explain all living things require energy to survive in the human body this Energy's in the form of adenosine triphosphate or ATP for short adenosine triphosphate or ATP is a complex organic chemical that provides energy to drive many processes in living cells it is produced in the mitochondria which are the energy units of souls we can stimulate the body to produce more mitochondria through regular physical exercise and subsequently have more potential energy at our disposal at any given time and the more mitochondria we have the more energy we can produce this is why elite athletes have been found to have a greater density of mitochondria in the muscle tissues than the average person this adaptation happens because of the energy demands they place on their bodies day in and day out resulting in their bodies producing more mitochondria this is one of the major metabolic benefits of exercise and Weis promotes it across the board in the health and medical fields however this adaptation takes a long time and a lot of dedication on our part so is there another way for the body to make more energy that doesn't require so much hard work well fortunately there is instead of trying to produce more and more mitochondria by exercising day or night we could also make sure that the mitochondria we have already are functioning optimally this is really read in the infrared light comes into the picture Newton's law of the conservation of energy states that energy cannot be created nor destroyed but can only change its form we know that this is true for solar energy whereby a light energy from the Sun is absorbed through solar panels to produce electrical energy we also know that sunlight is transformed into energy by plants in the process of photosynthesis well it turns out that the human cells are pretty similar in this regard this is because when our cells absorb light energy its sparks of a chemical reaction in the mitochondria to produce more ATP which is our usable form of energy so again in the same way that solar energy can be converted into electrical energy so can light energy be used by ourselves to produce more ATP great so what makes red and the infrared light in particular so special them well red in the infrared light has a large frequency range of 600 to 1100 nanometers it just so happens that these frequencies transmit really well through our body tissues and into cells so whereas at the light frequency length such as blue light fall short and can only enter into the first layer of the skin red and especially in the infrared light can penetrate through all the layers of the skin and reach into our organs and even into bones where they can activate our cells to produce more ATP as explained earlier dr. Michael Hamlin the leading research on red light therapy who has over 400 published papers to his name explained this quite practically in an interview once take out your torch and China under a finger or the thumb now if you look from the top notes are red glow can be seen this is because only the red light frequencies are passing through the entire depth of our finger only the red light has the ability to penetrate deep into the body's tissues now increasing ATP production inside ourselves firefights of our modulation is super important one needs to realize that this energy is not only used to keep us awake in feeling energetic but the ATP is a universal fuel inside all living cells which drive every single biological process we need to not only survive but to thrive as well furthermore it has now been discovered that ATP is also used as a signaling molecule that ourselves used to communicate with each other so if new cells need to be made to grow heal a bone for example ATP is used to communicate with father blasts to initiate the bone remodeling process or let's say they are damaged defective or infected cells these ATP signaling molecules communicate with macrophages to clean up the mess buying golfing and destroying the bad cells how about when viruses into our body again ATP signaling molecules can call upon killer T cells and the lack to destroy the pathogen but hang on what when our immune systems are overactive and behaving irrationally as in the case of autoimmune diseases well communication to these cells to stop repairing and induce an anti inflammatory response is also a possibility with better signaling there are even studies that prove that activating ATP production through red and the infrared light in one area of the body can have peripheral effects elsewhere for example in one study the researchers used red light therapy to treat hyperpigmentation called melisma in women however they only shone the light on one side of the face by the end of the state there were massive improvements to the skins complexion on the treatment side but the no treatment side also showed improvement this is called the Bosch stand effect and it demonstrates that red and near-infrared light therapy has far-reaching systemic effects on the body through enhanced ATP molecular signaling additionally the increased energy production of these red lights stimulated cells results in a higher uptake of oxygen the increased oxygen utilization causes some oxidative stress to the sole via the production of reactive oxygen species now I know this sounds like a negative I mean why would we want ourselves to be stressed but in fact a small amount of oxidative stress is actually well tolerated by the cell because it stimulates the production of antioxidants to protect the cells so it ends up being a therapeutic benefit in the end it's like when we stress our bodies and muscles during exercise and they respond by becoming stronger and more adapted to the exercise induced stress so with all this in mind it has been shown that cells that have been photo activated by red and near-infrared light will react in at least one of the following three ways depending on the state they are in before the exposure to the light number one cells will repair themselves or self-destruct if they are damaged at the time after exposure to the primary functions of the cell will be upregulated through the higher turnover of ATP and three if cell counts are low in the area of light exposure new cells will migrate to that area or be stimulated to grow this might also happened systemically through the bus-stand effect now I know what you may be thinking it almost sounds too good to be true right well LED red light therapy is not some magic cure for everything however these spectrums of lights are in natural components of our everyday lives in the form of sunlight which are proving to be highly beneficial for many cellular functions personally I'm a firm believer that the most consistent factors that our lifestyle is made up of probably have the biggest impact on our health these include nutrition sleep physical movement breathing and LAT exposure one could call the the pillars or fundamental elements of health for these reasons photobiomodulation in the form of red in the infrared light therapy is being used in many different kinds of therapies now some examples are to promote hair growth this was actually the reason for which the field of photobiomodulation came into being in 1968 dr. andrey mr conducted an experiment using a ruby laser emitting red lights on induced tumor cells in mars even though the experiments at the time was a failure he did notice that the hair around the area that had been exposed to the Ruby laser grew remarkably fast from there the studies on photobiomodulation really took off we now have proof of its effectiveness in skin care diabetes Alzheimer's sports and exercise performance sleep traumatic brain injury recovery wound healing and much more we also have much cheaper ways of gaining photobomb modulator e benefits from red light therapy de bas as opposed to lasers we will be covering many of these topics in depth over the next few weeks as well as reviewing the products themselves so subscribe and if the notification about to be alerted when we do but if you want to check the products out in the meantime the links to the ones we are currently testing can be found down below in the description and that's it from us today please like and share this video if you found it useful this engagement really helps us to improve our reach here on YouTube anyways thanks for watching and until next time keep on exercising your health choose [Music]

Some interesting comments with regards to R.L.T, as I was thinking that it was just a feel good factor that some people were getting? However, would it depend on what make/type of panel you were using & wether you would need to use it several times a day? Also would there be any risks? T.I.A
00:36 At first, I didn’t believe in Red Light Therapy. People claimed it could reduce pain, improve skin, and boost energy—I thought it was just a trend. But after struggling with chronic back pain, I decided to give it a shot.
Every day, I used red light for 10 minutes on my back. After a few weeks, my pain eased, I slept better, and I felt more energized. I was shocked—it wasn’t just hype!
Now, I truly believe that sometimes, the simplest solutions bring the most amazing results.
Red light has lightened my dark scars to where it's barely noticeable. That's the only benefit I've seen so far and I've been using it for years.
Great info!
I heard that led was bad
However, hair removal is done with a ruby laser.
This janky-ass video just literally had me Unsubscribe.
Can you annunciate better please, especially with all these big words. Thanks.
I just joined a new gym with a red light "bed", except you stand, and used it for the first time.
When the owner told me about it i instantly thought of Dr. Kellogg who used light thereapy in the late and early 18-1900 hundreds.
He quite literally had patients sit in a box with whit elight bulbs and soak it up for a bit.
Along with exercise, fresh air, and healthy food he healed a lot of common sickness, depression, and addiction back then.
Help please!!! I understand that red light is good for me, but what kind of red light?? Just a red light bulb, or is it a specific type of “red light”? I would like to build my own RLT bed, please help
I've a question concerning the systemic effects. It has struck me that the most effective way to reach blood cells and thus the entire body would be to shine red/NIR light on a chest. Lungs have a large blood flow that's close to the surface. Does that make sense?
Used red light to lower inflammation/ pain, worked well for me and surprised me with softer/ healthier skin.
My eye color changed from a mix of green/hazel to baby blue and my vision improved at the same time so that I no longer need glasses. It happened in about 2 years simply by following an organic whole plant food diet that includes greens and sweet red peppers every day.
Thanks!
I’ve found red light therapy to be a game-changer for recovery and skin health. If anyone’s looking for high-quality devices, I’ve had great results with Recharge Lights. Their panels are super easy to use and packed with features. Definitely worth checking out if you're serious about light therapy!
Let’s be honest, setting aside time for red light therapy every single day isn’t exactly easy. But, for the sake of science (and my stubborn headache), I gave it a shot using the FF 1000 from Future Form Official. And, I hate to admit it, but it worked!
After dealing with an unshakable headache for three long years, a few weeks of consistent use actually made it disappear. I started this whole thing to improve my brain health and cognitive function, using it for 20 minutes a day on my face, neck, and chest.
And while I’m still not thrilled about making it part of my daily routine, I can’t deny the results. My skin’s glowing, my head’s clearer, and I’m starting to think this might just be worth the hassle. So, if you can deal with the commitment, this therapy really delivers. Just don’t expect to squeeze it in between meetings!
I genuinely cannot tell if it is working or not. I have always had good skin bc I follow a strict skin care routine. I just wanted to help with a few little creases in my forehead and smile line. I don’t know if it’s working. Im on day 8. Anyone got testimonies on it?
Would love to see the academic sources of information mentioned at :25 for this video. Wow, what an incredibly well put together explanation – Thank you!
Thank you for your video. I have pigmantation on my face. Some say, that "near-infrared LED" should not be used in that case. What would you advise? Can I use red+ near_infrared LED?
Please explain how to make sure my infrared device is working? I bought one, and I want to be sure it emits infrared radiation.
❤
So the light does not need to be red?It can be any led powerful enough?Correct? The reason i ask is i am considering making one
I was looking for your "Five Features a Red Light Panel Should Have". I can only find videos on Joovv videos. Am I missing something?
thanks this is great check out our glasses
Incredibly useful video! Thank you and Great Work!
3:15 energy cannot be destroyed
I CURED MY AGE RELATED HEARING LOSS WITH RED LIGHT AND ORAL 2% METHYLENE BLUE 8ml .. now LOOKS AS IF WILL WORK ON JOCK ITCH .. W MB CREAM WHICH I COMPOUND.. I AM A PHARMACIST 86 YEARS OLD . ALSO WILL WORK ON RESISTANT TO RESISTANT ANTIBIOTIC DIABETIC FOOT TO AVOID AMPUTATION AND MELANOMA.
Here are some key takeaways from the video:
* Red light therapy uses specific wavelengths of light to penetrate deep into tissues and stimulate cellular energy production.
* This may lead to benefits like improved skin health, hair growth, reduced inflammation, faster wound healing, better sleep, and enhanced athletic performance.
* It's important to manage expectations and remember that red light therapy is not a one-size-fits-all solution.
Great video. Quick question- wouldn't our cells die faster as it can't regenerate endlessly and we are forcing it to regenerate faster?
Joovv has horrific review scores 😱. Good video
I'm going to give this a try.
So spending more time in Red Light Districts?
Thousands of years ? Light has not been discovered that long ago
So glad to find out how great red and "yinfred" light are
Does red light help psoriatic arthritis skin condition

I just started this done 3x sessions so far..
Can I buy the infrared light from Amazon? Are those effective?
Doctor Brad Meyer suggested I get Red light Therapy for severe Back injury. Spirit lake, iowa
please, i am interested in using red light therapy and i have 2 questions
1/ in my country, i found only one korean IR light equipment with 1200 nanometers without modulation of the frequency, can i use theis frequency for all organs , heart, brain, lungs, liver ,etc ?
2/ does the simple device of IR light WTHOUT MODULATION AND NANOMETERS have he same benefit or any efficiency? THANK YOU
I have many healings by using red light.. at first I didn’t think it was working but by the 3rd night I realised I’d was working and I swear by it. I have weak knees and now they are strong again, I would wrap my red light band around my knees and leave it on for about an hour.. it’s as if I have new knees. One time I ate something that didn’t agree with me and I had serve arthritic pain throughout my torso so I used the red light belt on my front and back torso for lengthy periods for several nights and it healed it completely. I have used it for other things as well and it works. Nerve damage✅ I had a sore tooth that I was going to have pulled and I did several treatments by holding it against the skin in line with the tooth and it fixed it, I canceled my appointment and my tooth is good. I had a sore ear from wearing a Bluetooth earpiece for 5yrs and it fixed that. I use it for so many things I lay with it on my chest at night when I’m in bed and I feel it clearing my chest and rejuvenating my heart. I know it all sounds crazy but it works.
I DO THIS RED LIGHT 3 DAYS A WEEK, STEAM SAUNA DAILY AND COLD THERAPY 3 DAYS A WEEK
