Simple 5-Minute Guided Meditation For Beginners



This is a beginner’s guided meditation for easing focus onto the breath, and allowing thoughts to pass while bringing attention back for just one breath. To learn more, visit: http://www.fitwoman.com.

This is the first meditation we use in classes here at Green Mountain at Fox Run to introduce beginners to the practice of meditation. It’s also great for practitioners who just want something simple, or to go back-to-basics.

Before You Begin

You may wish to practice this in the morning, on your lunch break, or after a long day to de-stress – this meditation is great any time of day. Before starting, find a comfortable seated position or feel free to lie down – find the position that will be most comfortable and peaceful for your practice today.

And remember: anything that happens in this meditation is perfect. Thank yourself for taking this time for you.

  6. … I'm sorry but I read too much into things. All I feel is that I'm going to fail. I have the attention span of a grapefruit. All I want to do is cry … like a child. Been suicidle since age 13. I'm now 60 diagnosed with congestive heart failure. I just hope I go in my sleep.

  8. My first experience with this guided meditation my cat decides to jump on my laptop then all of a sudden the ladies voice begins to speed up. I went from extremely calm and focused to dying laughing.😆😆

I run a community on Facebook called "Attitude of Gratitude with Chronic Pain" where we use various tools such as gratitude, intention, affirmations, journaling, and mindfulness to help anyone with a chronic physical and/or emotional condition to live their best lives despite their struggles. Each day I post a guided meditation that I call "breath breaks" in order to help our members. I try to keep them short and simple to make them accessible to anyone, no matter where they lie in their personal meditation practice. I like to show how even a few minutes can be so essential to our overall well-being. Lately I have been asked by quite a few members where a good place to start is, so I went digging around for a good solid "beginner's meditation" that I felt was helpful, simple, and by someone with a soothing voice. I feel as though I hit the jackpot when finding this meditation! I have now listened to several of yours and have subscribed to your channel! What a find you are! Thank you for offering this wonderful resource for anyone looking into the "exercise of letting go" (as you say.) I intend on sharing more of your meditations in the group. FANTASTIC CHANNEL!

  19. At first, I was truly struggling to let go. However, the first time I felt my mind wandering and refocused on my breath, I felt a wave of relaxation take over. My worries we’re gone at least temporarily. I got lost in the music behind your voice and felt nothing in the best possible way. Thank you.

  28. Just started being interested in meditating as a way to relieve built up emotions, and this video was amazing! Something that had bothered me slipped right away. I felt almost weightless and even started falling asleep! Great great content and the instructions and voice were perfect
