In this video, we’re going to talk about the best way to get off sugar.
The first question is, why is it so hard to give up sugar?
The simple answer is that you’re doing it without your body’s help. When you try to give up sugar, and you still have cravings, you’re fighting an uphill battle. It takes a tremendous amount of willpower and self-discipline.
But what if you were able to give up your addiction and craving for sugar?
When you eat sugar, you experience a spike in dopamine. Dopamine will give you the sensation of pleasure for 90 to 120 seconds.
After about two minutes, you then experience a spike of cortisol, which makes you feel stressed.
When I eat sugar, I feel awful for at least 20 minutes, if not an hour or two.
Sugar can cause…
• Irritability
• Grouchiness
• Vision problems
• Brain fog
• Poor concentration
• More sugar cravings
Many people are so used to these side effects that they don’t realize how good they can feel if they stop eating sugar.
The best ways to get off sugar are:
• Don’t do it gradually – There is no such thing as a sugar detox
• Go to two meals per day, staying under 30g crabs daily
• Take MCT oil
• When you crave sugar, have a protein and some sea salt

Thanks for watching. I hope this helped explain the best way to get off sugar. I’ll see you in the next video.
we're going to talk about the best way to get off sugar now the question is why is it so hard to give up sugar well the simple answer is because you're doing it without your body's help when you try to give up sugar on top of body cravings it takes a tremendous amount of willpower and self-discipline you're completely going uphill and it's just a matter of time before you start caving in and then going back to sugar but what if you were completely able to give up your addictions i'm sorry your cravings once and for all wouldn't that be a lot easier yes it really is because what you're dealing with when you're craving sugar and you're giving in the sugar is you're really dealing with this this spike in this one neurotransmitter called dopamine dopamine gives you pleasure for about i don't know 90 seconds to two minutes and then that's followed up with a big spike in cortisol and then you're going to feel stressed personally if i ate i don't know about 30 grams of sugar right now i'd feel like crap i'm gonna feel lethargic for at least 20 to 30 minutes if not an hour to two hours i just wouldn't feel quite right i'd start feeling irritable and grouchy my vision would be off i would have brain fog i would have terrible concentration and i would actually have more sugar cravings but i think people are used to it and they really don't even know how good they can feel once they come off sugar but here's the recommendation on the correct way to get off sugar number one don't do it gradually but don't postpone the misery when you do it gradually you're still having sugar cravings during this process so some people try to give up their sugar cravings within i don't know one to two to three weeks during the entire time they have sugar cravings i mean why not just do it within two days and you're done because once you adapt to ketones you no longer have cravings they're gone and also there's no such thing as a sugar detox you're not detoxifying when you're getting off sugar toxins are not coming out sugar is being burned up but what you're feeling is this transition period on your brain your brain simply just does not have the fuel it's not toxins it just doesn't have the fuel because you haven't converted over to ketones quite yet there's a very simple solution and that is to start taking ketones in the form of mct oil so mct oil converts quickly to ketones it feeds your brain it makes your brain feel happy and you won't have that bad feeling but you want to get off sugar very quick very simply start consuming two meals one at lunch and one at dinner no snacks and just to keep this simple just make sure your carbs are less than 30 grams per day not per meal but per day what's going to happen is because you're depriving your body of sugar your body is going to start converting over to ketosis and your body's going to start to use this other fuel source and you're going to start feeling better but the biggest thing you're going to notice is that your hunger is going to go away and your cravings are going to go away and it's not going to take a long time to have that happen you're looking at about two days and then the process you're taking this mct oil just to make it a lot easier anyway i wanted to create this video on those of you that are still eating sugar despite watching all my videos week after week as well as those people that are new to my channel so if you're enjoying my content which i hope you are and you're applying this knowledge to your health and you have a success i would really appreciate you sharing your success story so click the link down below to my website where you can upload your success story so you can help inspire others

I'm on my 4th day of no sugar! Wow! I've noticed that my pain in my stomach is half now… lots of work to get better! It's a must now… I even noticed so much sugar in so much food..
I feel so miserable when I stop it… It's a way of escaping reality
I did kept diet for maybe about 2ish years and it was probably the time in my life where I was doing pretty well (mentally)
This is great and I think I could do this BUT I LOVE chocolate!!!! I truly enjoy it and don't want to give it up so now what? My diet is very clean and healthy otherwise. Inquiring minds would like to know. Please and thank you.
that's me
Dr Berg just noted how great and healthy you look, best prove of your teachings!
Thanx Dr Berg
…im going to give it a try.❤
I’m a licensed addictions therapist, and I am a sugar addict. The withdrawals are horrible. I can help others fight their addictions, yet here I am struggling. I’m tired of this mess.
30 carbs per day??? i thought being in ketone diet isn't healthy in the long run?
Where do you buy MCT oil?
Dr Berg- is this low carb/no sugar diet ok for those with cirrhosis?
Thank you for this video. Should we stop eating fruit as well?
I am at the end of day 3 I feel awful but less awful than I did yesterday
Going cold turkey
Once you quit caffeine you will have better control over your cravings. Beffore quiting anything quit coffeine first. After quiting caffeine you will be much calmer and stable, that will make you have time frame betwen feelings and doings.
Even nicotine will be much easier to quit.
I know quitting sugar is good but is eating fruits ok
Sugar addiction is much harder to overcome than smoking and alcoholic drinks 😢😢😢
Tea tree oil? How much a teaspoon?
I eat mostly Whole30 which is no added sugar. Over the holidays (Christmas) I did make cookies for family and eat them. But I am back to eating Whole30 and cooking all of my own foods. I do snack. I have fruit and nuts. I do need to cut back on the fruit, though, as sometimes it does effect my energy. It’s currently orange season so I will limit myself to 2 oranges per day (not my usual 3-4 😅) to help with that.
I just started yesterday… trying hard to quit sugar. So far 2 days… feeling tired , getting a headache, very happy after a meal and full of pleasure. Sugar addiction is a more silent killer than Smoking habit.
Are maple syrup and honey sugar?
What about fruit?
