Im diabetic. Is this good ?
Go vegan
What if you can't improve your social situation because of circumstances? Time, accessibility, the fact everyone is less social since the panda emic. I'm not sure I can fix that part of my life as easy as I can fix my diet.
One of the rare diet programs that actually focus on more than one aspect of health. I think diet is important, but stress management, purpose, movent, your social health, are equally just as important.
Zero friends. Zero. I've tried, its all so contrived and surface-level. Meet-up just ain't doing it for me. These "friendships" aren't authentic and lasting.
First you need 2000 units of botox…
Siri, what are the risks of plastic surgery?
It’s not the only thing, if you watched the documentary he spoke about community, faith, light exercise and then food.
I have a theory. I think the healthiest food in the world is the so called TRADITIONAL food.
I wished scientists and doctors focused more on traditional food.
1. Traditional food was created or invented usually in times of hunger, poverty, crisis, war, plague, disease, etc. Traditional food is survival food, the food that stood the test of time, the food that allowed entire populations to survive periods of hunger. So traditional food needs to be healthy, nutritious, cheap and abundant, based on local ingredients.
2. But traditional food usually can taste very bad, sometimes being outright vile and repugnant. Most countries in the world usually have some kind of traditional food. In times of plenty most people tend to underestimate, look down, dismiss or even despise traditional food because it doesn't taste good. But that is really a big mistake, because that is the food that humanity needs to rely on in times of hunger, and also to remain healthy. So it is really important to keep and preserve traditional food, no matter how bad that food may be.
In Sweden there is a fermented fish called surströmming, that is considered by many to be the stinkiest food in the world.
How is it possible that people eat such a thing? But surströmming has existed for hundreds of years, is nutritious, healthy and cheap. And most certainly it was invented by starving people in times of hunger and poverty. Many people make fun of surströmming because of its foul smell, but very few people seem to realize that surströmming is a super-food that literally saved entire populations from hunger.
3. The biggest problem about traditional food is that it may difficult to replicate in other countries, because it may not taste good and the ingredients may not be as cheap or abundant in different regions or countries. For example it is often said that olive oil is healthy, but olive oil can be very expensive outside Europe. Japanese traditional food uses no olive oil at all.
4. It is ironic that unhealthy food is only available in times of plenty, while in times of hunger the only food available is traditional food. So the richer the country, the more unhealthy the diet becomes. A poor person on the other hand needs to eat healthy food, otherwise he won't survive. So paradoxically, the poorer the person, the healthier the diet, because a poor person simply can not afford to eat unhealthy food. While traditional food is based on local, cheap, abundant ingredients, unhealthy food is usually based on expensive, imported, exotic ingredients. While older generations try to encourage traditional food, younger generations tend to despise traditional food and prefer modern, expensive, unhealthy food.
5. The United States unfortunately does not have a firmly established traditional food, simply because the country is relatively young and has not suffered any major war or disaster or famine or disease. So most of its diet is based on European culture, which may not be the most appropriate for the region. In my opinion the US should look into native American culture, because they probably have a very strong traditional food culture most appropriate for the local conditions.
American food doesn’t have any nutrients I don’t think this will work herr
More info on the food eating pods….would love to get into one!😂 a moi ??
Did they not find out that most of the people in the blue zones lied about their age?
The dietary propaganda associated with “blue zones” is absolute trash.
Amazing ❤thank you
BS. Nearly all of them are animal farmers of some type. Yet, he reports they only eat plants. Its an outright lie. Also, the blue peeps in his study are from super high density geographies, like Asia. Odds are in a high sample, you will have outliers….Did you notice he avoided Hawaii and the USA in his study. There's not a high enough density of population for their to be outliers in his numbers. This is fraud conducted by an out of work journalist.
You also keep the weight off.
This guy Dan Buettner is nothing but a fraud. Completely missrepresenting a healthy diet and what people in Sardinia and Ikaria really eat. The real blue zones diet is based on MEAT. Deal with it.
Any Follow up on these ladies?
The blue zones diet has been defunct as being all fruits and vegetables in Okinawa. They eat a lot of pork in other countries. They eat goat, drink, milk, eat cheese
There is no single 'Blue Zone' diet. There's a variety of diets from those places without much of a common denominator outside of freshness and moderation.
Some eat meat (not much) and some smoke and drink homemade wines. Most don't drink. Physical activity, keeping busy, immersion and inclusion in their communities, low stress and moderated calorie intake are things all the zones have in common.
the most important is the overweight what was reduced, and that is not news at all. All western desease are based at having to much visceral fat. Which is a result of overeating, processed food and not enough dayly movement. There is many ways to achieve that weightloss and excercise more. IMF, fasting, carnivore, vegan, all aim at eat less calorie intake and less often so the body gets time to heal. I am not sure at all about reducing the meat. And also found several videos about the blue zones of people that went there and found out they actually eat a lot ot meat. The pork once a week people found out in reality is more then we would eat average a day f.e. Cause they catch a pig and eat it the full weekend together. Amount of meat only 3% that the blue zone story tells is under stress. I found contra video';s claims from people living there, telling they eat a lot of pork and get old with that too. Who should you believe? the story that is common in all camps: no overweight and move. Vegetable carnivore disccussion? try yourself what suits you best i guess.
ITS NOT JUST THE FOOD! Environment and culture are HUGE in this story!
The blue zones actually eat alot of meat. Ask anyone whos traveled through the Mediterranean or Sardinia. Pork in Sardinia and Onikawa.
Can you stop the Blue zone crap. It isn’t real
No stress and sense of community is the true secret sauce, followed by diet
Unfortunately the pandemic made it harder to get together with friends and family and I feel my overall health suffered because of it. My mood became more sour and depressed and my body experienced more pain and fatigue. I am still having trouble getting back to a place where I feel safe getting together with friends and family…it has been a life changing experience for me. Not in a good way. I am going to look further into this concept of Blue Zone foods and lifestyle and hope that it begins to make a difference in my life.
I moved to a Blue zone from Florida. I am 15 pounds lighter without the gym membership I had in America. People here take anywhere from 1-2 hours and actually sit down at a table, with other people to eat lunch everyday. When I was working in Florida, I got 30 minutes to sit alone in a break room and shove something in my face as fast as possible. It is a completely different lifestyle. I don’t know if it is something that is achievable for everyone in America because of the way that we work though. Companies need to make a decision to invest in their employees health by letting them take a longer lunch breaks. If they improve their employees health, then they can spend less money on employee health plans. But I’m sure some being counter at the corporate office somewhere has drumbeat it into their stupid heads that they are somehow losing productivity by giving Longer breaks. They couldn’t be more wrong though. Not my problem anymore fortunately!
Where is the meat? You can't fix your health with a high carb diet. It's a lie.
My gut health is so much better !!
100% misinformation. Falsified data just like usual.
The tragedies we are having at the present time in the entire world is

But what about all the meat and eggs and cheeses in these blue zones? no one eats it at all? The lady that lost 12 pounds looks weak and Sarcopenic. Could these emotional well being feeling come from the fact they did not eat sugars for three month?
My question is living in the Blue Zone, what does their average day looks like? I love the idea , but its the longevity of being able to sustain cooking at home all the time with a full work and life load.
None of these people are obese…My mother just passed at 100 years. She was a "moderate" person. In consumption of food, alcohol and anxiety.
Good for them on losing weight, but I think the title of this video should be "these people tried blue zone side dishes" where's the meat and fish that people in the blue zones eat every day?
Except the guy who wrote the Blue Zone book lied. He said they were plant-based and they are not. On Ikaria they eat tons of dairy and meat. No cow, but plenty of goat and lamb and it is a significant part of their diet. They also smoke! I'm not saying y'all should start smoking, but really the one thing these Blue Zones all have in common is that they have little to no processed foods or sugary drinks, and only small amounts of sweets. In Okinawa, as healthy as that diet is, they use too much salt. However, they are aware of this and trying to change that. So the take home message is eat from scratch, eat what mother nature provides, and stay away from processed foods, too much salt, and too much sugar. Don't be drinking those sugary beverages, either.
I’m scared. Looking at her scares me. I’m sorry
How can you lose 37 pounds and look exactly the same? 😅
The never ending empirical machine and its need to take away peoples tradtional foods away from them and make it expensive aka take away from indigenous people and feed em hotdogs and McDonald's
Impressive !!
the blue zone in greece eat a meat based diet, they eat fried cheese, vegatables are a garnish.
To everyone wondering, its a glorifoed vegetarian cook book. Literally like any other vegetarian recipe book.
Also, being from Sardinia myself i can tell you right now, we eat meat and fish regularly, so i have no clue where they got the idea that we mostly eat veggies, its just not true.
Putin likes a Ukrainian virgin named Olga
The food I cook and eat is good, but I mostly eat alone.
A good social life is very important.
In the stressful West, not many people want to live long any more. They have no purpose or joy to live longer. Socialising gets boring as they think, talk, and act the same. They don't cook or get together at home. Their lifestyle is so boring. They will run out of joy and happiness very quickly. So, what's so good about living/surviving long???
Wonder where u can sign up with others and try this. I grew up with a lot of it being Italian.
