today we're going to do a ten-minute hiit workout for beginners and that's high-intensity interval training just for you hi I'm Schellea and welcome to fabulous50's a lifestyle channel for women over 50 and if you're a woman over 50 click subscribe and click the bell and you'll be alerted every time there's a new video and they'll all relate to you we're going to do 40 seconds of high-intensity training followed by a 20 second complete rest but the high intensity is suitable for beginners so don't worry you can do this and by the end of this you will be burning fat and burning calories and feeling really really good I'm excited let's get started follow along with me and feel the music and get your body in the mood to exercise a workout like this is nature's way of firing up our brain and our body so that we feel more alive which translates into more vitality and that's why we're doing this workout well done, time to take a rest it's 20 seconds a hiit workout just really means short bursts of intensive exercise followed by a rest period and that means that a hiit promotes a very best workout in the least amount of time up next we've got plie squats with a pointed toe follow along with me activate your glutes and feel those muscles as you're squatting down and don't forget to keep your abs held in tight another great thing about a hiit workout is that stimulates our human growth hormone so make sure you give it everything you've got because human growth hormone keeps us young and the more we can get of it the better next up we've got uppercuts these are amazing for fat burning so hold your core in very very tight and keep your hands held up high don't drop them and punch punch punch well done how good did that feel take a rest you've got 20 seconds next up we've got knee to elbow now you can take this fast or slow but most importantly put a lot of effort into it because it's only 40 seconds and then you get a 20 second rest keep going you are amazing great job at take a breather 20 seconds to rest did you know that based on current research there's no substitute for exercise when it comes to delaying the aging process so if you want to stay young keep doing what you're doing next up we've got arm rotations now this works best if you have your arms very strong and activated and hold your core in tight it works wonders put all your energy into this another 40 seconds keep going you are a star great job have a rest now you know you're burning fat getting strong and staying young what could be better than that this is awesome okay next up we've got squat pulses and these are working our glutes our inner thighs and our abs as well so make sure you squeeze your glutes as you're going down and hold your abs in tight take a rest, catch your breath bring your heart rate down a little bit before we go up to our next move where you'll stand with feet hip width apart and stretch out from side to side activating your glute muscles and making those arms strong and your abs tight put a lot of energy into this and enjoy the music take a 20 second break and get your breath back you are doing such a great job and we're getting close next up we're going to do star jumps and these really get our heart rate up and you'll see there's a low impact version on the left either way you're getting a great workout okay slow down take a break and start thinking about something that has improved in your life over the last three or four weeks and whatever that is spend the rest of the day focusing on that element in your life okay next up a strong body move with the music and just enjoy yourself whoo! well done we don't need to be athletes now we're over 50 but if you do workouts like this every day you're going to do some amazing things for your body next up we're going to go into a squat position and step from side to side creating strong glutes and strong thighs so work hard focus on those muscles and we're nearly there I really hope you enjoyed that hiit workout let me know if you enjoyed it and you're feeling it right now if you'd like to continue working out choose this workout next it'll really complement what you've just done and if you're ready to finish choose a stretch workout from the playlist to calm down and make sure your body is feeling great for the rest of the day thank you so much for watching and I'll see you tomorrow

Hi, I'm not quite 50 but am really thankful for these workouts because I have asthma and POTS. It can be really difficult for me to workout because of this. Your HIT workouts are doable for me so I really appreciate that. Plus, doing them is fun. It almost feels like dancing.
