little Health quiz well here's the truth it turns out that all three of those questions were actually false there are just so many Health misss out there that are really keeping guys fat stuck frustrated and we're going to bust them right now all of them and really to get started the first one I want to talk about is the fact that a lot of guys still think that breakfast is the most important meal of the day because growing up that's what we were told we were told that you need to get up you need to have a high carb breakfast with cereals and fruit juices and oatmeal and all these things and turns out that's couldn't be farther from the truth in fact there are some true health and metabolic fat burning benefits to actually postponing breakfast to later in the day like 10:30 see our our body's Peak fat burning hormones actually rise in the morning and if we eat high carb breakfast foods like fruits like fruit juices like cereals granola oatmeal whole wheat breads Bagels all these things we've been told to eat that actually squashes those fat burning hormones they totally decrease so what we want to do is one of two things one we can actually push breakfast later back in the day and that's something that we advocate in our fitall 30X program which is our 30-day weight loss program for busy fathers it's incredibly Ive one of the meal timing setups is we push breakfast back till 10:30 that's an option if you can do that or two have a low carb breakfast do not uh succumb to the eating lots of carbs early in the morning is the best way no orange juice no breads no cereals instead I want you to have really good proteins and healthy fats things like eggs like protein shakes like veggies like some good meats um you can even have some fish and stuff like that that is what you need first in the morning to keep your energy levels High your blood sugar level stable and your fat burning hormones skyrocketed so breakfast not the most important meal a day and if you do want to have it it's totally fine keep it low carb myth number two cardio is the best way to lose belly fat I get this all the time because thousands and thousands of baby followers come to me here at the fit f project to help them lose weight and they're always like Dr Anthony I'm doing cardio I just can't get rid of the fat what's going on well the first thing we need to realize is that low in intensity cardio and when I mean low intensity I mean just like walking or jogging on the treadmill using the elliptical machine going for a a light jog something like that aerobics if you will that is a huge myth that we've been equated to that kind of stuff is the best way to burn fat when it turns out that that stuff just really burns calories and you just cannot ever burn more calories if you don't have your diet fixed first and I'm going to tell you which kind of xay you need but I just want to throw this up this visual really to drive this point home you could have a bagel with a little bit of cream cheese or you could spend 1 hour exercising your ass off um you know sweating running around to burn those 500 calories it just really doesn't make a lot of sense to do aerobics when you can just tighten up your diet save yourself those 500 calories cuz yes if you want to lose weight you do need to consume fewer calories than you burn so the easiest way to do that is to tighten up the consumption side and then we'll talk about what to do in terms of the exercise so low intensity cardio not good instead we want to do short high-intensity workouts high-intensity does not mean dangerous it means that we're doing the proper kinds of exercise that actually boost your metabolism so even though we're exercising for only like 20 or 30 minutes your metabolism is boosted for up to 24 hours afterward regular low intensity cardio does not do that we need to do these high-intensity intervals now because I want to show you exactly what you need to be 5et of floor space so that's kind of workout you need to do not low intensity cardio okay myth number three weightlifting is just for younger guys who want to build muscle that could not be further from the truth in fact it might even be more beneficial for guys once we hit 35 45 55 to really start lifting weights why because muscles are a metabolic engine the number of calories you burn every day is largely based off how much muscle mass you have and after age 35 our testosterone levels of guys start to decrease rapidly and what happens at that point is we start to lose our muscle and if we do not regular strength train which is the key to maintaining and building muscle well into our 40s 50s and 60s you will lose your muscle and you will lose your metabolism with it and that's going to lead to low energy to weight gain to low beo low confidence all the things that we absolutely refuse to have is guys so we need to strength train but we can't do the same kind of workouts that guys in their 20s do we need to do a different kind of workout and what you need to be doing is full body strength training three times per week so Monday Wednesday Friday full body strength training so I want you to do the best motions for legs something like some kind of squat the best motions for chest some kind of push-up the best motion for back some kind of pull up or row and the best motion for arms some kind of curls and some tricep press Downs or some shoulder presses you're going to do all that in one workout and you're going do that three times per week that is one of the secrets to really building and maintaining muscle maintaining your metabolism and just ensuring that your hormones are high and you really stay strong and metabolically healthy well into your 40s 50s 60s and Beyond okay myth number four organic equals healthy now listen as a physician and a mental health doctor I love organic food it's super super great and there are a lot of things that you want to be buying organically so for example The Dirty Dozen Clean 15 is a fruits and vegetable list that shows you um the vegetables that are sprayed with the most pesticides versus the ones that are okay to buy conventionally you always want to get the dirty dozen you want to buy those organically because I don't want you getting a lot of these toxins and pesticides into your body that's just no good now also when it comes to Meats it's really is a good thing to buy organic grass-fed beef organic free range chicken or organic freerange eggs not just because it's better for the animals which it is you know I want the animals that I have to really have good lives like I want those chickens to you know have free range to eat natural diets because it makes the food better makes their lives better but it's also a lot better for your body the composition of organic grass-fed beef is so much different than the fat composition of conventional cornfed beef two different things one is terrible for your health one can be a health food now with that background laid down important part here is that organic does not always equal healthy you know there are so many companies now that are slapping organic on all sorts of things organic sugar organic ice cream organic fruit snacks that stuff is still garbage eating organic cookies is still going to make you fat eating organic ice cream is still going to make you fat so don't be fooled by marketing that always thinks that organic equals healthy all the time what is healthy are the natural foods that God gave us fruits vegetables Meats those organic perfect processed man foods like the weird bag of organic chips or that organic ice cream probably not good for you so I just want to really make that distinction that don't be fooled by organic labels making you think it's healthy and the last myth and maybe the one that's closest to my heart because I saw this my dad go through it if you don't know my story he passed away at 42 the myth is that we have to lose our health and we have to get old and we have to get sick as we age that is the old Paradigm just not true anymore there are so many people and you can see around our fitf father project website um of guys well into their 40s 50s 60s and 70s were maintaining lean ripped athletic bodies and they're staying strong and permanently permanently healthy even though you look around and so many people are losing their health because they're not doing the right things with sleep diet and exercise that does not have to be you our bodies are built to really maintain health for lots I’ll be 63 soon and I am lifting weights like I’m in my 30’s and gaining lean muscle mass. I watch my diet and my cardio is walking.
Hurt my shoulder and my knee. Rested it for weeks and months and it didn’t get better. Ignored the pain and exercised instead and it got better within weeks. Go figure.
This is a meal plan for a man who sits down for a living and has no physical requirements for his job. An active person, who has to put in physical work. Carbs are your best friend. Not sugars, but rice and grains. Keep the fat to minimal and swallow as much protein as you handle. Lastly, watch the magic begin.

Hit 40 recently. And while I have kept in average shape I have now really knuckled down and stopped drinking so I can keep up with kids as they grow.
Been doing 3 full body sessions a week and 3 30min hit cardio sessions a week. And even that's a lot of time commitment but so far so good
What doesn't make sense is that they spray our food with pesticides and then people come and say," avoid foods with pesticides." Why spray food with pesticides if we're supposed to avoid them? This whole system of idahoology is repetitive and ridiculously a cycle.

IMO it's not about the time of breakfast (ur 1st meal of the day)….it's about, "what you're eating as your 1st meal of the day, if that makes sense

How about this, do cardio and also eat healthy in reasonable quantities. Why do current fitness people think they always have to go against the grain.
Yes, you will lose weight but you are trading that weight to clog your arteries. The only reason to eat meat is because of getting vitamins and minerals, The problem is today's meat does not have it. They feed the animals GMO corn and go into a slaughterhouse with 3/4 of their body in cancer, and people eat it, they don't, they don't, cut it away. Studies have shown that humans get enough protein from plants, this is where the animals get it from. There are bodybuilders that are whole-plant-based eaters and have never touched meat in their lives. Arnold Swartzneiger, the most prominent man at his time is a plant-based eater. The gorilla is the closest relative to us and they can tear us apart, they are plant eaters. The old myths that humans have to have all this protein from meat came from the food pyramid, the FDA got a large sum of money to put meat as the number one spot. It is now a proven fact, that doctors have done studies, and plant-based is the healthiest lifestyle for humans. Some searching you will come to this fact also.

Im 40 and just started gymnastic/ ring training a month ago. Given my aging face and the fact im down to jerking it only twice a day, i thought my age would be a problem gaining strength.
But quite the contrary. Ive seen noticeable progress on every workout, in fact, the goals i had set for 180 days i think ill hit at end of year, closer to 90. i dont think i could do it faster 20 years ago.
I try to disregard all biological advice about middle aged men. Did they do the studies on men who play sports or men who watch them? Yes, if you get 70% of your calories from coors light from 25 onward, you might be a big ball of estrogen by the time you hit 50. We know so much more about longevity, fitness, and health now though, most information can be misleading.
I know 40 is not that old, my eyes look 60, but otherwise i feel limber, strong, horny, and hungry. Perhaps more so now than when i was 20, but definitely not less.

I'm 47 years old, and I'm 5'8", and weigh 235 lbs, overweight! I have the Belly Fat, and Man Titts, I've developed. I have not diet or exercise in 10 years. I've gotten super lazy for working out. I'm so out of shape, and I have low energy. I want to re event myself, by getting back in shape. I want to live until I'm in my 90's! I have to change my lifestyle!
i do all these things and maintaing the weight well. combined with somedays IMF/ But walking is not good for fat loss? i walk several days like 5 to 6.5km at quite high tempo (6,5-7km/hour) in the morning with no breakfast. Take a lunch later. Usually after those days, i have weight loss. Cause you get in a calorie defecit 400-500 extra. Or is that not what you ment with low cardio? On the days that i do workouts (with weights full body mixes each day different at least 3 days/week) and combine waling and protein higher intake, also has good effect.

I do a bcaa, protein isolate and beat root power shake before gym at 6a then another protein shake after gym. I push my first meal to around 12 and last around 8. So far so good lifting 5 days a week and doing running intervals daily for 25m. Just trying to lock in diet.
