potential health benefits? Well, it can boost endorphins, and provide a kind of
gentle electroshock therapy to the system. A holistic approach getting momentum finds hydrotherapy can
actually offset depression. In a clinical trial
scientists found a cold shower of up to five minutes,
two to three times a week helped lessen signs of depression. The idea is that cold water
sends electrical impulses to the brain that jolt your
system and release endorphins, those happiness hormones
and improves metabolism. Other research suggests cold
showers improve metabolism and help fight obesity
over a period of time. Cold showers also improve your circulation and reduces inflammation
and some people report because of this their
skin even looks better. So how do you do it? The secret is to build up your tolerance by easing into the practice slowly. Start by lowering the
temperature just enough that it's uncomfortable, and get under that cold water for about two to three minutes, try breathing deeply and relax your mind. Next take the temperature
down a little more and stay in a little longer now try this seven to
10 times and guess what? You've got it. Oh, and by the way, a cold shower is any shower less than 70

I use a hot shower to clear my sinuses and finish with cold water.
I've been taking them for 3 years now and you just have to tell yourself It's not gonna kill you, it's more of a comfort thing

I did it cold turkey, no pun intended. One week in-and I do feel really great afterwards! I battle depression and have been steady for a few months, so if adding this small step will help, I think I’ll keep going!
Yet the Japanese live the longest and they take hot baths. And avoid getting a tan.
But I feel like my muscles froze…..it'll not work properly or stretch…. I will feel the frozen muscles another day and I won't take a shower the next day….Is this harmful for my shoulders muscles
I remember doing this unintentionally lol I thought my water heater broke so I was forced to take a cold shower everyday until I found out my my wife ( we just got married and she moved in) was changing the water to cold before she got out lol for over a year i never touched the nozzle because I lived alone. But I do remember telling my brother how good I had been feeling after realizing why I was feeling so good lol

Been taking cold showers. At some point the cold water will feel hot. It’s crazy.
I did a cold bath at 60 degrees F. with heart submerged for 30 minutes yesterday. I think I was shivering for a while in the water though before 30 minutes. I stayed in though and when out was shivering quite a while. Pretty concerning. Should I get out when I start shivering in the water no matter what temperature?!
I only shower with cold water, no warm or hot water and I shower every morning at 3:30 AM right before i leave to work. I’ve been doing cold showers since I was about 15 now I’m 28 and I won’t stop doing it. After i get out of the shower I always feel so alert and awake plus I feel ready for the day to come, I notice for me it gives me such a positive attitude, I’m always looking forward to my showers because I love the cold water on my body it just makes you feel so nice.. It lowers your core temperature and just relaxes you so nicely. If you haven’t tried it, try it because you’re gonna love it.
I remember how i got into cold showers. It was a hot summer day and I’d just got back home. I was so hot that i went to the shower just to throw some cold water on my head. It felt really good and refreshing that the next time i did my head and a little bit of my shoulders. Next time i went full steam ahead and never looked back. I’ve been enjoying cold showers ever since.

I did this and jumped right in to a fully cold shower. No hot at all. Thought I was going into shock and pass out. I powered through for a couple minutes tho. Had a little bit of a headache after(probably from the heavy breathing) but I felt like I accomplished something I thought I couldn't do

In summertime, take as much cold showers as you want, no problem however, in winter times, a warm (not hot showers are really good if ended it with a quick warm/cold showers). Cold showers in winter times, are not good for everyone, if you can handle it then go for it but don't force it on you.
Come live in Canada in the winter. Lol.

Here is an idea. You actually don’t need to take a cold shower with soap and shampoo because that is really uncomfortable. 😂
Take a regular shower and than when finished turn the water to cold for 3 to 4 minutes. 🥶

I used to love very hot showers because it felt so nice to be warm, but my anxiety got worst as I got older. My first cold shower made me feel like I was actually alive ! It was so good that I couldn’t believe I’d never done it before. When I have really bad anxiety I do a straight up freezing shower and tell myself everything that im doing to center myself from spiraling thoughts. I wish I would’ve know about these when I was a kid could’ve stopped a lot of panic attacks lol

I haven’t taken a hot shower in months. It helps me a lot with depression and kind of calm down my panic attacks. My skin glows. I have less allergies These are my personal experiences with cold shower.
We used to say as kids to anyone who was getting stroppy, to go and take a cold shower.
I think the only benefit of cold shower is it reduces your electricity bill 😛

I TAKE AN ICE COLD SHOWER EVERY MORNING, WITHOUT FAIL. IT'S AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE. I FEEL SO AWESOME AFTERWARDS. JUST YOU AND THE ICE COLD WATER. REALLY GOOD STUFF.
