hi I’m teimo from tck Sola in this video I want to talk about the sand and heat [Music] pump as you can see it looks like an air conditioner and the technology inside is like an air conditioner the amazing thing of a heat pump like the sanding is it is specifically designed to create hot water in the most efficient way the way they do it you put one kilowatt of electricity in and it gives six out in shape of hot water into your tank so over 80% of energy you are saving by converting from a gas hot water service to a heat pump the difference from sand into other heat pumps is most heat pumps in the market have got the heat pump installed on top of the tank that is of course a more costeffective way of installing the unit than having it separate but it has several drawbacks the first one is the heat pump on top of the tank means it is pretty much on ear height and it is right above the fence level to your neighbor so the noise from that heat pump travels much further than installing this one on the ground second issue is that the heat pump if it’s mounted on top of the tank usually has half the power than the sand and heat pump that means it runs for twice as long the sandon runs for about 3 to 4 hours a day to reheat the whole hot water tank so that means a heat pump mounted on top of the tank runs for 7 to8 hours this next issue with the heat pumps mounted on top of the tank is that often they are lower in efficiency which means they are running even longer another benefit of having the compressor separate from the tank is that you can install them in different locations so we’ve installed them over the last 10 years and there are situations where we put the tank in the middle of the house and the compressor outside the compressor on the floor on the wallmount bracket or the compressor on the roof you have lots and lots of options on how to position them to suit your situation the best in new builds we can help you find the ideal location for the tank as it is important to have it as close as possible to the kitchen if you have long waiting time in bathrooms it’s not such a big problem but waiting in the kitchen 15 or 20 seconds for hot water is very annoying so if you like to learn more about the sand and heat pump please get in touch
