intermittent fasting how much weight can you actually lose in a month with intermittent fasting you've seen stories like jeanette's or like ron's or like monica's but what is it that you should expect from a month of intermittent fasting let's dive straight into those details my name's autumn i'm a certified clinical nutritionist with my master's nutrition human performance i talk a lot about intermittent fasting and how you can use intermittent fasting to achieve your weight loss and wellness goals so if you're new here make sure you subscribe we look at intermittent fasting results like ron's who lost 70 pounds with intermittent fasting in six months averaging just under 12 pounds of weight loss per month or corollas who lost 33 pounds over six months averaging about five and a half pounds per month and even megan who lost 13 pounds in just three weeks with intermittent fasting you can see the weight loss results with internet fasting really ranges now contrast this with a study that was done on intermittent fasting and weight loss this study just used intermittent fasting and found that those who were considered obese lost between one to one point four pounds per week so averaging about four to seven pounds per month while using intermittent fasting so why is there such a big range and what is it that you should expect now how much weight you lose in a month with intermittent fasting largely depends on one really big factor and that's how you're actually breaking your fast intermittent fasting works for weight loss because it helps keep the storing hormone insulin low this naturally turns on the fat burning state so your body can use fat as fuel intermittent fasting also helps your body to crank up growth hormone which protects your muscles from breaking down and therefore protects your metabolism from decreasing however if you break your fast with the wrong types of foods this can completely reverse the progress that you made with your fasting period if you break your fast with the foods that really spike the storing hormone insulin this throws your body out of that fat burning state and can make it harder to get back into that fat burning state so these types of foods that are really bad to break your fast with include those that are rich in sugars and starches so think fruit juices are fruits smoothies toasts cereal jam oatmeal all of these types of foods fall into the category of those that will work against your intermittent fasting weight loss goals and really slow down the progress that you're making or even reverse it instead breaking your fast with the types of foods that don't greatly spike insulin is key to achieving a weight loss goal with intermittent fasting this means not prioritizing those foods that are rich in sugars and starches and instead maximizing those that are rich in protein fat and fiber these food sources help to keep you satisfied so that you aren't hungry during your fast the next day helps achieve a body recomposition goal where you're burning fat but not losing muscle and doesn't greatly spike the storing hormone insulin this includes foods like chia pudding or eggs protein rich smoothies or greek yogurt or cottage cheese bowls all of which are really great options to break your fast if you're looking to achieve a weight loss goal with intermittent fasting now typically the more body fat you have the more weight that is possible to lose in one month simply because there's more fuel to be pulling from and to be using for the body but what's interesting about that intermittent fasting study i mentioned earlier studying those who are classified as obese they only lost between four to seven pounds per month on average versus someone like monica who is not classified as obese but was using intermittent fasting and lost on average six and a quarter pounds per month so you can see the difference comes down to not just using intermittent fasting but how you're breaking your fats because monica was using intermittent fasting but breaking your fast with protein fat and fiber rich meals from the complete intermittent fasting bundle this helped to keep her really satisfied and not aggressively spike her insulin so doubling down on those weight loss perks that intermittent fasting already provided in fact if you want those step-by-step details on how you can use intermittent fasting achieve your weight loss goals you can check out the complete intermittent fasting bundle which is exactly what ron and corolla and monica were using to achieve their weight loss goals i'll have the details for that link description below now weight loss is your goal make sure that you're eating these 10 foods to help maximize fat burning with this video next also if you're new to my channel and you love this science back to information make sure you subscribe right here come out new videos every tuesday and thursday alright guys thanks so much for tuning in and i'll see you my next video [Music]

It's so weird; some weeks I lose several pounds and other weeks I barely lose one, but there is no denying that IF (intermittent fasting) is the best method. I do the OMAD; just one meal a day. Doesn't matter if you count calories; it's hard to lose pounds if you eat ten times a day (like I used to)! I had to train myself to not eat as often.

I lost 6,6 pounds in a week during intermittent fasting 16/8 and being in a caloric deficit combined with apple cider vinegar and ashwagandha sups. No working out yet but I'm planning on it. During my eating window I eat lots of fat foods; butter toast, avocado, nuts, cheese, fish. I feel amazing, high energy, good night sleep and the pounds are flying off. 🎉 I don't feel restricted or like I'm on some neverending punishment. Life is good!
