I would imagine a whole row of terrace properties in 10 years time never being serviced correctly the noise would be terrible.

I would recommend the Mitsubishi eco Dan series the s series with air to air dork really well a us neighbor had one installed and is working in -10 c with 2 units doing 3000sq ft
I'l let other people do all the test flying, and when some kind of concensus emerges I'l have another look. Anyway I only put a new boiler in five years ago, it's got another fifteen to do before I change it. I'l be 83 by then and probably long dead. I think the jury is well and truly out on the real impact of the acoustic footprint of these things. I have an expert in the house ready with her Bruel & Kjaer noise measurement meter just in case. It'l be just like the old days 😂😂

Hmm, standing outside without a jacket on, so it's not operating at max power and max loudness.
And maybe using a microphone, that can't pick up the low frequencies.
So what are the measured dB(C) or dB(Z) values at max power and max loudness ?
To be fair anyone who has a washing machine outside their house for up to 24 hours a day is asking for trouble from neighbours.
My friend is being driven crazy by her neighbours heat pump – it’s that annoying humming 24/7 – sitting in the garden reading or relaxing is no fun – and she sleeps in the bedroom at the back and has a window open even in the winter for ventilation – and the noise is horrible – it’s caused such issues with the neighbours – bloody things should be banned – it was fine for the first 6 months – then the noise just got louder and louder. My neighbour is having one fitted this week – and we are all dreading it
