This video demonstrates how acupuncture can help acute shoulder pain. My patient suffered a right sided shoulder injury in a powerlifting competition that was associated with sharp pain, loss of range of motion and point tenderness.

Acupuncture needles were inserted into corresponding areas of the body to speed up the body's natural healing process. Shortly after needles were inserted, the pain he was experiencing had dramatically decreased and range of motion had restored.

hello YouTube this is James from lose strength in therapy and in this video I'll be discussing how acupuncture has helped one of my patients with his acute shoulder pain my patient suffered from a right-sided shoulder injury less than 24 hours before this video was filmed and felt a pop while competing in a powerlifting competition immediately after feeling the pop he experienced sharp pain in the Lost of motion with point tenderness around the shoulder during the assessment lifting the arm up forward and to the side would recreate the pain and symptoms the pain was described as sharp pain during movement and a dull achy pain during rest during the treatment I used acupuncture specifically a technique called Dr Tan's balance method where needles are placed in corresponding areas of the body to facilitate the body's natural healing process I started the treatment by inserting acupuncture needles below the knee on the opposite side of the injury this managed to reduce most of the pain he felt when raising the arm forward however the range of motion while raising the arm to the side was still limited from there I inserted acupuncture needles on the same side shin and both of the hands after reassessing the range of motions my patient mentioned that the Motions feel more fluid and the pain had dramatically decreased he stated that the pain he would feel was no longer present and movement did not feel restricted moving the shoulder was a lot easier because of the decreased pressure he felt in the shoulder however because it is considered an acute injury inflammation is still present and resling along with light movement is recommended to help speed up the healing process if you enjoyed this video please like share and subscribe to the Channel if you have any questions please leave a comment and I'll do my best to answer them see you guys next time
