what's inside an air source heat pump there are five main components in an SRC pump got the evaporator coil so I've actually carried here that's your cap well it's a radiator evaporator coil so that that that's got what's that got gases in that refrigerant refrigerant as a liquid right okay in there yep here you've got the fun yeah is that your biggest fan that my biggest fan ever and it's a Daikin designed fan and it's designed in a way that makes it super quiet as well so you see the the way the blade is cut super quiet yep about prep Kyle the fan inside there you've got the compressor right okay and you've also and it's obviously really well insulated I think behind there you've got the check valve as well at the expansion valve sorry so compressor expansion valve and around here lots of loads of uh circuit bars and stuff there yeah lots of control on it lots of control and inside there inside that insulation you've got a plate to play it's a big plate to play so one side of that is central heating water so this so the inside is coming off the compressor so that's got the refrigerant in and this side here has got the central heating water going out to your flown return VR central heating right okay yep well so we got a couple of other components we've got the pump so that that's just like a normal scintillating pump it's very similar to a normal central heating pump yeah um inside there you've got the expansion vessel so expansion vessel at back straight if I want top there back plate comes off if need be if you need be to get in you've got a little air then auto air vent yeah yeah prv pressure relief valve pressure relief um and then you've got a flow sensor you've got a space there for a flow switch if you need it so that's in training it shows you about that and it shows you that you could put a flat paddle flap flow sensor in there if you're putting glycol in the system yep because your floor sensor won't pick up the black hole until it gets up to 25 degrees so you put the flow sensor in in there if you need to and then there's a pressure sensor just around inside there as well so that's really been the main components thanks very much

Air source heat pump is basically a 2 way air conditioning unit ac/heat . These units sold to western Europe and north America are deliberately made complicated and way over priced too!!
Wait for the cost of replacement parts! Over controlled rubbish! Coming from an experienced hvac engineer.
My son has been lucky enough to get a shared ownership affordable home in Cornwall. It's got an ASHP. I hope it doesn't cost a fortune to run. The house is small and brand new so hopefully it's insulated to the extent that the ASHP will work.
