Trimming A Beard During The “Awkward Growth Stage”

foreign is your beard uneven I'm going to tell you why and how to fix it hey everyone my name is Scott with volt LifeProof grooming and in this video I'm going to show you guys how to attend the uneven beard when growing it out and with that your beard and your hair can grow at different speeds than at different rate and it's going to induce a little bit of a awkward look because right now we are going through the awkward stage of beard growth and so the biggest thing to do right now is to get everything in an even Keel so that way you're getting the best looking beard that you can now the reason why the beard is growing in different rates and at different speeds is because of location now for instance my chin and the bottom of my beard are not going to be the same growth and length and that's because of the location of where the beard and the hair is growing and so with that we're going to address the problem of how to fix it is that first spot usually is going to be right under the chin area right in between the neck and the chin so the first cut of your beard trimming experience is going to be right here here now let me just come in a little bit closer I'm going to turn my head to the side and you're going to notice right here is where the beard is growing very nice and very thick and it's actually growing faster and longer than everything else why because of the location it's right under it and it's going to be the easiest spot to notice where the air is going to be trimmed and that spot right there is where we're going to need to trim so that way the chin is able to meet up with our neck and in that awkward stage this is the time that we need to put in that effort to get our beard the direction that it needs and that first one obviously is going to be combing second is going to be a fine product like beer oil and third of course is trimming because it's not always just grow the beard out because we can't do that but it's going to just look uneven and it's going to look unkept so the first thing that we're going to do is we're going to do the trimming process of this within that beard growth and like I said it's going to be right under here and it's really easy and this is a great way for you guys to just start being comfortable with those trimmers Clippers or scissors so my biggest suggestion is go find a reliable Clipper or trimmer that you like and we can even use scissors it's up to you for me I like to use some clippers here and we're going to go ahead and address that problem so for me I'm going to go ahead and brush out my beard and then I like to flex out where I like to push out the bottom of my beer so it meets up with my chin and once again you can see how much longer this is to my chin so go ahead and get out your favorite Clippers or trimmers we're going to go ahead and use some trimmers here and we're going to go ahead and trim off that little spot and you're going to be surprised how big of a difference that can make so go ahead and turn it on we'll go ahead and turn my face to the side and we're just going to go against or towards the chin and we're going to come down to the bottom foreign and it's really simple and easy to do and once again for you guys that are not comfortable with trimming your own beard this is a great way for you to start go ahead and bring out a brush again we'll brush out our sides and then we'll do what we did we'll just bring that brush into the chin and look at it has gone away all right and if it's still there where if we need to brush up a little bit of flyaways we do a tray back on foreign process and it's actually going to make your beard look a lot sharper smoother and neater because that's what we want at the end today is a nice looking beard and to finish everything off go ahead and grab some beard oil this one's from Bolt and it's their Lube right and we're just going to go ahead and put about I don't know about four or five drops all the way around the beard and we're just going to go ahead and rub it in we're going to go ahead and like we always talk about we're going to exfoliate into the beard we're going to bring it down and what I see a lot of guys and what that normal thing to do is is to bring down our finger our forefinger and our thumb we're going to bring it down to that spot and everything looks nice and neat so I hope you guys like this video if you have any questions or comments leave them down below we'd love to hear what you think with that I will see in the next video have a good one

  1. This was really helpful! I've scoured YT for help with similar beard type and these techniques helped me look a lot cleaner and less unkempt.

Curious your thoughts on how cutting flyaways stunts the growth long term if I'm trying to go for a bit more length. Unfortunately, I work in a setting that doesn't really tolerate a messy beard. I'm curious how to get past this awkward stage ASAP while also hiding it as much as possible.

  2. This is just dogshit advice bro😂

  3. Thanks for the pointers. I have tried growing a beard several times before and I have always given in and shaved. My sides always seem to not be as dense as my goatee area.
