The most effective gratitude practice – Andrew Huberman
we now know with certainty that a regular gratitude practice can enhance many many aspects of our physical and mental health by default so we don't always have to constantly be in practice trying to be happy so what does an effective gratitude practice look like turns out that the most potent form of gratitude practice is not a gratitude practice where you express gratitude but rather where you receive gratitude where you receive thanks receiving gratitude is actually much more potent in terms of the positive shifts that it can create than giving gratitude think into when somebody was thankful for something that you did and really start to think about how you felt in receiving that gratitude or imagining or thinking about deeply the emotional experience of somebody else receiving help repeated gratitude practice changes the way that your brain circuits work the circuits associated with motivation and pursuits are actually enhanced as well that's very strong incentive

So is this why I get ASMR from watching dr pimple poper?
I know this video is one year old
And please correct me if I’m wrong
But thinking about when someone was grateful to you would mean feeling pride
Which is basically satisfying your ego
Must be gratifying to KNOW-IT-ALL!
How is this measured ?
I don't like being thanked for doing something at my job because it is my duty
Oh my gosh, this makes so much sense❤
I always thought of practicing gratitude as that counting my blessings, me being grateful for something or someone else. But this is about the feeling I get when someone else is grateful to me. Wow.
Funny, I have a pattern that when I feel bad, I do something nice for someone else.
This makes sense.
What about if I do something nice for me( which I do need to practice) and then I feel grateful to me for doing something nice for me, then feeling that feeling of receiving gratitude from that? 😅
You.. Yes you.. Reading this.. THANK YOU for being you. ❤❤❤
no wonder we’re in this mess… no one cares enough to thank people
Ok so that's why giving makes me 😊
❤🎉
Thank you God for all your love and blessings Amen
Good info. Thank you 😊
This is all about brain rewiring.
I have done alot of service for my friends and community. I always felt that I was being selfish. for receiving gratitude and enjoying it.
Doesn't this lead to being relient on external validation from people which detracts core confidence? Trying to receive gratitude in order to feel good about yourself?
It’s like oral then .
Indeed, when we receive gratitude, its impact is even greater! ❤
This makes -1 sense
It’s the wrong approach. Matthew 20:25–28
25 But Jesus called them to him and said, h“You know that the rulers of the Gentiles ilord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. 26 jIt shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant,1 27 and whoever would be first among you must be your slave,2 28 even as the Son of Man came not to be served but kto serve, and lto give his life as a ransom for mmany.”
I think this video targets nurses. Most of the comments are from nurses.
To the nurses out there. Thank you for your service and I wish you a life of happiness.
So true
Interesting. Better to give than receive
A Hack
& it feels good to me:
thank YOURSELF!
I Thank myself for …………
(e.g. I’m grateful to my self for taking that nap)
What are you grateful to yourself for?
@andrewhubermanlab what are your thoughts?

#IAmGratefulToMyselfFor…..
If you are someone’s boss, be sure to give them praise and gratitude
Simply be a real good person in your life and you will regularly receive gratitude in return.
That's why Islam tells us to give charity, smile at someone, say something kind to someone and be grateful to God who gave you the ability to do these things in the first place.
