Auto-Immune Protocol (AIP) Diet for Inflammatory Bowel Disease

The auto-immune protocol (AIP) diet is an even more restrictive diet extending from the paleolithic diet. It involves the consumption of fruits, vegetables, game-meats, fish and honey. Learn about how the auto-immune protocol (AIP) diet can be used to help manage Crohn's or colitis.

Speaker: Robyn Nagel (RD, MHSc) is a Community Registered Dietitian working at a Family Health Team in Midland, Ontario. Robyn completed both her Bachelors of Science in Food and Nutritional Sciences and her Masters of Health Science in Nutrition Communication at Ryerson University.

the next side i wanted to discuss is the autoimmune protocol diet um and so this is actually an extension of the paleo and it's believe it or not even more restrictive so it's the same foods not allowed list except they've taken a few of the foods allowed to the food's not allowed less including nightshade vegetables which are eggplants peppers tomatoes and potatoes as well as nuts so again high risk for deficiency following this diet right now we only have small poor quality studies completed and just no high quality research at this point to support its use

  1. All the vegetable I adore are on this list 😢 I just can’t do it. I require lots of Protei. Which would be great but I also need tons of other nutrients. This makes me so sad. I lost nearly 200lbs and for the first year I rarely of ever drank anything with sugar, no white carbs and no nuts. However I introduced all that back in and I think inflammation hit me like a ton of bricks. I crave those veggies and it’s depressing I’d have to give them up

  2. It’s actually very nutritious and I eat a lot more vegetables and fruit than I did before.

  3. Has there been any studies done on the Carnivore diet and or Lion Diet?
