[Music] practicing mindfulness can help you to stay present and grounded especially during times of stress mindfulness is the awareness of what's going on within and around us in the present moment we all have the capacity to be mindful but it's tough because the mind has a tendency to wander the good news is that the mind is like a muscle and we can strengthen our capacity to be mindful with practice the practice is simply this we connect to the present moment using our senses being aware of what we see hear feel in the body including the thoughts we think and the emotions we feel and eventually the mind will wander this is completely natural when that happens we simply return our attention back to the present moment so that's it we focus our attention the mind wanders we bring it back it's simple but not easy so we should be kind and accepting of ourselves when we practice mindfulness
