Dang moms are amazing!
I'm three weeks postpartum: I was truly afraid of pregnancy and childbirth for years. And now I can say: It wasn't as bad as I imagined. The postpartum period isn't that bad either. Everything is manageable. P.S.: My little baby is snoring next to me right now and squeals like a little cat in his sleep 😂 It was worth it.
Yeah. Most the time the baby is nowhere to be seen in this video. Reality, that baby is on you 24/7 unless you have a VERY supportive partner or mother.
We need to normalize postpartum support and care. If you research traditional customs in different cultures you'll see the mom is never left alone by her own means after giving birth. They used to have lots of care for the mom after giving birth and rules so that she doesn't strain herself too much and recovers well
You did not mention sleep deprivation😢😢😂
This tracks. The fourth trimester is a lot but it goes by quick and then so does the rest of it lol.
Imagine going through all the physical and emotional symptoms of postpartum, but without your baby to care for…this is me 2 weeks postpartum after delivering at 37 weeks gestation and my precious son passing away just an hour after birth. My body is still sore and recovering, emotions super fragile and dealing with the loss 😢
I thought I was alone in how I was feeling. Bornside Mama made me realize I wasn’t crazy—I was just a new mom.
I never thought a book could hold you. But Bornside Mama did.
It should be illegal how comforting this book is. It’s everything I needed and didn’t know how to ask for. I found it on Valmeris
If you’re drowning in expectations, Bornside Mama book will be your life raft.
Mamas, if you’re in the thick of those first 30 days—please get this book. Bornside Mama is raw, healing, and empowering.
I stopped apologizing for needing rest after reading Bornside Mama. I now give myself grace daily.
I didn’t need another “how to swaddle” book—I needed something that understood me. Bornside Mama delivered.
No clichés. No judgment. Just truth, tools, and love. Bornside Mama made me feel less alone in the mess.
With my 2nd baby, PPD crept in and turned every morning into a fight just to move my arms 😩. I was convinced I’d never snap out of the fog and felt like a shell of myself. I read the book “Seventeen Gentle Steps Toward Your Inner Sunrise” and suddenly things didn’t feel so heavy anymore. Honestly, if I’d had this after my 1st child, I wouldn’t have struggled for months 🙏.

My mom did this 7 times Damm❤ luv you mom❤
I highly respect my boyfriend's mother because she went through this three times (my boyfriend and then his sisters) and I only went through this one time after the loss of my daughter seven months ago due to premature labor and I'm about to go through it again in three months after my second daughter is born.

You forgot about pain in brests and fever, when the milk comes
I appreciate this video. Im expecting my first baby in less than 4 months now and was a bit nervous about giving birth. The best thing that any new mama can do for herself is take it easy and educate as much as possible. It really helps❤
❤
Relaxation 🤣 I havent relaxed and rested once in the past 2.5 years since I became a mom! And the first time I slept 8 hours straight was after 1.5 years!
And then there is postpartum depression.. 🙃 this looked like an easy postpartum
Im 17 weeks pregnant.. and now even more terrified 🙂
Where is the baby during post-partum? Because the baby needs a lot of care and attention too
This was an awesome video, Glamour! Well done
Im stressed out now 😂
On number 4 .. this all varies.. my first kid I bounced back in a month . My 3rd took a yr then I got pregnant again lol
4weeks rn and still overeating
Watching this at 4 weeks postpartum😂
Yeah they don't tell you how it really is. They made the actress to make it look so easy. She was kinda smiling the whole time thats not how it is. Post portrum moms you know what im talking about. They need to do better on this video. They made it look to easy
My mom did it 6 times 💀
This totally missed out the constant sleep deprivation as well. Try exercising, eating healthy and “relaxing” when you’re a walking zombie! My little one is still not sleeping well at 2 years old but then they smile, they laugh and you hold them tight and you’d do it 100x over. Being a mother is the hardest yet most beautiful thing ❤️
As some who has done this once (about to again) the baby should have been in her arms the entire time and she should have cried more and not look so put together to be more realistic 😅 But they had some useful points.
I liked this but I felt like she should have been holding the baby most of the time haha
Y'all, be super careful about joining online mom groups, some of those people are NUTS XD
Oh im pregnant 🤰 ❤. Thats what you mean theres no going back.
Skin to skin to prevent postpartum depression!!!!
Não gostei
Normal in 4-6 weeks… biggest lie told to new mums.
8 weeks postpartum. It has been tough, but so so worth it. Also still in pain, everyones recovery timeline is different. My baby is the greatest blessing 😁🌞
UTERUS BACK TO NORMAL IN A MONTH???????
EXCUSE ME BY WHO??? I THOUGHT DOCTORS SAID 3 MONTHS NOT ONE.
If you have symptoms of postpartum depression lasting longer than 2 weeks or with high intensity it's important to seek medical help <3
