all right dr john ashton here with medical questions that you've been asking us online first question dr jen is it safe for a person who has kidney disease to get the covid19 vaccine excellent question there's no negative interaction between someone with chronic kidney disease and these vaccines in fact someone with chronic kidney disease is at higher risk for severe complications of covid19 so they're going to be in touch with their nephrologists their internist their primary care physician about you know finding out all the specifics but absolutely they should be vaccinated in general all right question two here since the johnson johnson vaccine is not an mrna vaccine is it a live virus let's go back to some vaccine terminology 101 first of all mrna vaccine that technology does not go anywhere near your dna it does not go into the nucleus of the cells if you remember your high school biology it doesn't change your genetic code it's just a usb port for telling our body how to make antibodies against sars cov2 the jnj vaccine is a different type of technology the kind of old-school adenoviral vector technology it's still not i repeat not a live virus it just uses a bit of an adenovirus as kind of a trojan horse to sneak the little snippet of sars kov2 into the body so your body can say oh i recognize you i'm going to make antibodies no live virus at play here all right good to know and very absolute there all right third question the new trend is taking very cold showers are there actual health benefits it's so funny tj sent in this question this is a trend it's a trend not in my house kind of plunge pools cold therapy is very popular it can make people feel great but there's no conclusive peer-reviewed scientific or medical data that says it does anything amazing for you if you can tolerate it which i am way too wimpy to tolerate go ahead you know with kind of you know common sense don't do it too long if it hurts don't do it but we're talking about going to a special place not just going home and taking a shower and a cold shower even ice cold showers plunge pools i did a people or plunge on new year's two years in a row how long were you in the water about 10 seconds yeah there you go just to say i did okay i love it let's let's all do that next new year's all right i got a cold pool yeah we had to cut the ice literally with the with the chainsaw wow all right we have to go i digress you can submit questions to dr jen on her instagram at dr j ashton well hey there gma fans robin roberts here thanks for checking out our youtube channel lots of great stuff here so go on click the subscribe button right over right over here to get more of awesome videos and content from gma every day anytime we thank you for watching and we'll see you in the morning on gma

IT'S SO COLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
IT'S SO COLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The question should be why isn’t there any peer reviewed cold shower research going on?
Cold shower when I wake up, nice hot shower/bath before I sleep.
After taking a cold shower I'm 1 inch taller each time
That lady is a quack. Why don't you do your own research and take cold showers it's simple enough. Why not use your own experience instead of someone else's study
This doctor is wrong. There are peer reviewed studies that absolutely confirm the benefits of temperature resiliency in the human body.
These people who make fun of the benefits of cold showers don’t understand how it has helped countless people
What a great video. I gonna break this down in a video! I hope you will like it. + 1 sub 💯💯
Cold showers are cheaper than hot.
Cold is bold.
What a moronic response.
Last place I’d take advice from is a news group
She's just not aware of any peer-reviewed studies because she doesn't care. I highly doubt she checks each month to see if any new peer-reviewed studies have been produced.
The only think I see in this video it’s zero health experts .. actually these ppl in the video need some healthy advises 😀😀
There is science behind it.
Been taking at least 3 cold showers for 7 minutes per week…new study submerge in ice cold water in like it's Jan 5 watch ailments go away, Neuropathy, cell rejuvenation, etc.. did I say since 2012 start with showers then ultimately end up in the tub… what you scared
I started taking cold showers and I walked out the first time and was expecting the same feeling of drowsiness that I get after taking a hot shower. Didn't feel that way. You feel alive, ready to go, stimulated, and also healthy. It's the way to go.
Other than the health benefits you’ll also spend less on your energy bill.
there actually is scientific data and studys that show health benefits of cold showers
Their IS plenty of scientific data on the health benefits of cold showers and cold water immersion. Take a look at Wim Hof.
"no conclusive peer-reviewed scientific or medical data that says it does anything amazing for you" Is probably the biggest cop out of answering the question as a medical physician…
I can google right now and find countless studies showing an increase in metabolism, adrenaline, endorphins, acclimation to cold temperatures, reduction in inflammation quicker muscle recovery, immune function cognitive performance… the list goes on and on, sounds and feels pretty "amazing" to me (whether they are peer-reviewed idk and idc there's so many of them I don't think that matters) she coulda just said she's not well informed on this topic and encouraged people to go inform themselves!! 😀
Cold showers have no scientifically proven health benefits? I guess Wim Hof is just a very good actor.

Oh really no conclusive medical data? This woman is a quack. I was having anxiety so bad that it raised my heart rate earlier I went in a cold shower and my heart rate went back to normal. Having a medical degree or license means nothing.

Cold showers boost memory. I took a cold shower once and I've never forgotten the experience!
terrible talk about cold showers, she has no idea what she is talking about
UPDATE: THE CDC is now saying cold showers cause heart attacks.. to many dieing by heart attack on young age.. they need to blaim something.

Our ancestors took cold baths and showers and we’re all here.
She doesnt know. All this doctor knows is what big phrama allows her to know in med school
She doesn't like them therefore there is zero medical evidence to suggest they're beneficial……………….
I shut it off when i heard covid 19..🙄
Daily started showering COLD LAST MONDAY. Today is Wednesday.
